A story of redemption and realizing self worth, Bad For You managed to capture every nuanced emotion involved when selflessly falling in love with another. Having watched these two circle each other in prior books, it was a relief to finally be involved in their story to find out exactly who Shay and Sean were as individuals and what they were when they become one entity. I won’t say I was surprised to find it as romantic as it was, but I will say that I was amazed at how beautiful it really was when it was all said and done.

With much ground to make up for in getting to know these two characters, Daniels didn’t delay in wholly fleshing them out and giving us a true look into their struggles and everyday lives. And what was in abundance was the amount of things left unsaid, the pushed-down feelings, and the raw attraction that flared whenever the two of them were in the same room. The visceral nature of it was palpable and something I began to crave as the story went on, especially as this attraction became heavy with a blossoming uncertain friendship–or truce, really–that pulled them closer than before. In most stories, I find myself drawn to the heroes, as is the case with most readers I presume, but in this story the star is truly Shay. She’s the go-getter, the bighearted giver, the woman with a selfless heart of gold. Her inner beauty is what shines the greatest in this story and gives this story its pure romanticism. It’s her that inspires hope and acceptance in a badly tattered man that is entirely unaware of all that he is.

Without going into too much detail, Bad For You was an evocatively inspiring romance with two very complex and vivid characters. Their love story felt true and guided by the characters, not forced with a reader or writer’s expectations in mind. It was so easy to fall into them and become enraptured by their draw and appeal; the uncomplicated nature of it was pure and enjoyable. Each story in this series has been an amazing read, but I think this one will always hold a very special spot simply because of all that it is.

**4.5 STARS!

I can't y'all...oh goodness, give me a sec to recover.

Without having read the previous books in this series, I thought I wouldn't get the full Whitecaps/Dogwood experience, but do not fret! I missed out on the intro to Sean and Shay, but their story is way beyond what I could've imagined!
I wasn't expecting this sudden rush of emotions and heart-breaking revelations, but I was so happy to find myself rooting for these two and having such love for them in the end!
I can still say they're my favs of this series despite my not getting to the others, right? *nervous laugh*

The story gives way to Shayla and her trying to squash her feelings for Sean, refusing to give him another chance after he rejected her one night. She works with him and finds herself missing the talks they used to have and everything that came from the friendship they've grown. But one day, Sean's brooding self decides to step up and takes part in helping Shay out with some trouble she seems to be having. The rest is...well...a true roller-coaster ride.

Sean completely broke me in this one. He's had a terrible and traumatic upbringing and is at constant battle with himself. He feels as if he deserves nothing, as if he's worthless despite the love that surrounds him.
It's was a ride seeing him go from self-doubt to opening his heart up a little more. Shay was this light that led him out of his own darkness, so you can only imagine the type of love Sean had for that girl right there. It was nothing short of beautiful.

J. Daniels did a pretty damn good job at messing with my emotions and leaving me clutching at my heart. For this, I applaud her and I cannot wait to see what's next for this couple and for the Dogwood fam!

FYI, it's possible to smile so much you cry. J. Daniels proves it!

Bad for You is all kinds of good!!!!!
I would be bad for a certain cook any day!
He heats up any kitchen!
Strong, silent type...yes, please!

All the above are the tamer thoughts that prevailed while reading Bad for You. I had some creepy, pervy ones too but what Sean and I do with cuffs is none of your business. ;)

Sean is bad news, according to him. He is Bad for You. But everyone, and I mean everyone, will disagree with him. Sean Molina is a hardened man. He is the poster child for a system that clearly didn't work. He is heartbreak. Moms will want to hold him. You will want to help him. And everyone will lust after him (even if longer hair isn't your thing- trust me!)

Being Bad for You isn't a badge for him. Sean holds his demons close and wears his shame as armor. He's hurt and it is so sexy to watch his transformation. (If my hubs reads this he would be shaking his head- he doesn't get characters are real *shaking my head at his naivete*)

Bad for You is a glimpse into the evils of the word without getting dark. It's emotionally charged and you will experience the ups and downs. You will be there for the highest highs and crash with the lows. Your gut will clench and you might even spill tears.

But when it's all said and done...you will be begging for more!

”Good deeds hold more weight, especially when they aren’t motivated or asked of a person. They show true character. The person you are deep down.”

With a big smile on my face and tears etched in my eyes, I BASKED IN THE BEST BOOK BLISS from Author J. Daniels’ BAD FOR YOU. I DEVOURED this STUNNINGLY SHATTERING STORY in less than 24 hours and Bad For You devoured me. This love story is a SLOW BURN that blazes in a fire of feels. EMOTIONAL. EXPLOSIVE. ENDEARING. EVERYTHING!!!

One page and…
Bad For You hijacked my heart and struck my soul.

One page and…
Bad For You consumed me, claiming every part of me, commanding every feel.

One page and…
I was ALL IN…body…heart…soul…everything.

One page and…
I already knew that this book would break me, and oh would I let it.

”I was nothing to nobody. That’s who I am.”

I’ve not only wanted but NEEDED Stitch’s story since I last met him in Hit the Spot. Sean, AKA, Stitch, this big, gorgeous, grizzly, gritty beast of a man holds a beautiful heart hidden beneath that rough exterior. Oh did Stitch burrow himself into my heart. I LOVED HIM!! This broken and beautiful man CAUGHT and CLAIMED every ounce of me! Stitch WRECKED ME … OWNED ME … making me feel this beautifully broken man so hard!!!

”You need to quit lookin’ at me like I’m worth lookin’ at. I’m not. I’m nobody. I’m nothing to nobody.”

Shayla is an angel, a beautiful spark of sweetness, strength, and sass who is Stitch’s soulmate. She is cool and fun. I admired her courage and tenacity most of all. I ADORED this big-hearted beauty! Stitch needs Shayla’s sweet sunshine in his gloomy world.

Light bleeds with dark …
Sunshine eclipses the storms …
Hope springs to life.

”You deserve to be wanted. I want you. I want you so much.”

An ALL-CONSUMING and AWE-INSPIRING roller coaster of a romance, Bad For You dances between dark and light, shredding the soul and hypnotizing the heart. Bad For You is so realistic that it’s hard to believe it’s fiction through the end. This story tears you in half and then stitches you back together.

Bad For You rendered me EMOTIONALLY BARE and BLEEDING as it BROKE MY HEART IN THE BEST WAY!!! This soulful story TOUCHED ME DEEPLY!!! I was MOVED as a friend, as a lover, as a sister, as a wife, as a mother. Bad For You stole every smile … every sigh … every swoon … every tear …. every feel … everything! The FEELS … Bad For You has ALL THE FEELS! Bad For You was EVERYTHING!!! Bad For You was my KRYPTONITE and I NEED MORE.

”You were never nothing.”

A TOP 2018 READ!!! Bad For You is J. Daniels’ BEST BOOK EVER!!! Bad For You will BLOW YOU AWAY!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 beautifully broken ‘kryptonite’ stars

4.5 Stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
Emotions. Bad For You had me experiencing them all.

ALL. THE. FEELS!

Sean (Stitch), how my heart ached for him. I wanted to hold him in my arms and tell his he was enough. He was so good, deep down in his heart, he just needed to believe it himself. Shayla knew it, and she did everything to help him get to point where he saw it too. Shayla was an awesome heroine, I loved her just as much as I loved Sean. She was loyal, kind, fierce and fun.

The friendship and romance that grew and developed between Shayla and Sean was incredibly touching. As Sean began to open up to her, sharing moments of his past, my heart would ache, and anger bubbled in my veins as we too learned what he experienced. But Shayla had his back, she listened, she supported him, she protected and she cared for him. In these moments my heart would swell with love.

Shayla and Sean’s story captivated me. It was painful and emotional, but also heartwarming and beautiful. If you are looking for a story with characters that will grab a hold of your heart, this is one of those stories.

I have been WAITING for Shayla and Sean’s book ever since they were introduced in the first Dirty Deeds novel. The anticipation for them seemed endless and torturous, because I knew when I read it, it would blow me away. And that’s exactly what it did when I got my hands on this ARC. Their story was absolutely breathtaking and heart-wrenching – my heart nearly couldn’t handle all the feels that were being dished out. I freaking adored Shayla and Stitch – these two are my new favorite couple of the series. Sean for sure is my new favorite hero (sorry, Trouble and Loser!). For all you new adult romance lovers who love a good emotional read that will twist up your insides, I highly recommend Bad for You.

Shayla Perkins swore that she wouldn’t give Sean Molina another chance after he rejected her and broke her heart. But after seeing time and again Sean acting on the kindness in his heart, despite his surly demeanor, she’s determined to mend fences between them and help him out with his personal troubles. She just can’t help the way her heart feels for him.

Sean “Stitch” Molina grew up thinking he was nothing, that he was unworthy of anything and everything good – including Shayla. He has a past filled with heartache and pain, but Shayla makes him long for more than empty life he’s lived. She is the light that he never wanted to taint with his darkness, but this is a woman hell-bent on showing and giving him the love and happiness he doesn’t realize he deserves. I could feel Sean’s ache and longing for Shayla so clear through the pages – my heart broke for him over his past and his current struggles with accepting love into his life. When he finally learns to let love in with Shayla, it’s nothing short of beautiful.

Sean and Shayla devastated me. Sean broke me, but Shayla healed me right alongside with him. J. Daniels did an incredible job with wringing out all the emotions in this novel. There were also so many unexpected, lovely things in this book that took me by surprise in the best way possible. We get to see a completely new side to Sean that is absolutely PRECIOUS. Honestly, you need to experience Shayla and Sean’s love story on your own – it’s one that will gut you and wreck you, but you will be glad for the experience. I simply loved it!

It is no secret that I love all things J. Daniels, particularly her heroes. They are sexy, possessive alphas, and while Stitch is all of those things, he broke me and crushed my heart. But Bad for You isn’t just about the heartbreak and self-doubt, it is about realizing your worth and no one is more worthy than Sean.

Sean is my favorite hero from Daniels (I’m so sorry Reese. It was a good run), but this man broke me down. Like Shay, I wanted to reach into this screen and hug him and show him how wonderful he is. Hearing all the ways he was beat down hurt my heart, fissures spreading out with each detail she told us about him. Although he is broken, he heals, and with each moment that stitches his heart back together, he becomes the man Shay has always seen Beneath his gruff surface.

Shay is light. Sean is completely correct in his assessment of her. This woman is goodness and positivity, utterly selfless for those she loves and willing to fight for any of them. Her heart and capacity to love knows no limits. The way J. Daniels wrote Shay puts readers in her shows and we feel everything she does - the love for her family, her fierce protectiveness of Sean, her endless compassion for others. She is my absolute favorite Daniels heroine.

Bad for You is a romance, a slow burn of epic proportions, but it is so much more. This is a story of redemption. It is a story healing, of facing an awful past, recovering from abuse, and seeing worth inside. This journey is unbelievably beautiful and poignant, and I never ever wanted it to end! I want more Shalya, more Stitch, more of the love that filled my heart watching them. Just more. No amount of words would have been enough with these two.

With Bad for You, J. Daniels has reached a new level. Her romances have always been sexy and fun, and while there are moments like this, it is not the scorcher like her other books because this book is more than just entertaining and hot. It is a beautiful story of loving yourself, and it is one that should be read by all.

Wow what a stunning book truly stunning.

Sean grabbed hold of me body and soul from the start and he never let go. A standoffish loner would accurately describe the Sean we first meet, the saying still waters run deep fits so well.

Shayla couldn’t be more opposite to him, she is open engaging , funny a sassy woman I can imagine being friends with.

This author writes damaged tortured men so perfectly they may annoy and infuriate you but she writes them in such a way that you want the best for them. Shayla is the perfect woman for him, he needs someone who’ll bring him out of his broody aloofness and she certainly does that.

I really enjoyed reading about this couple it was an emotional and compelling story.

Bad for You is the third book off of J. Daniels' Dirty Deeds series. It's been a while since I've read the other two books so I'm blanking out in terms where and when Shay or Sean were introduced in the series. But the good news is, this book can be totally read as a standalone. There's no need for you to read the previous two books to get the best experience. Unless you want to, of course.

Like I said, I liked Bad for You. I enjoyed Shay and Sean's relationship. I think their friendship is sweet. Sean plays the broken and brooding hero perfectly while Shay is just your perfect, pixie dream girl, which brings us to my main issue/gripe with the book: the non-existent character development for Shay.

Between the two main characters, Sean is the more developed character. He started out as aloof and unworthy. But slowly and surely, through Shay's love, he became the character he was meant to be. Shay on the other hand remained the same though out the book. She's there to serve the hero's development. It's her love and patience and sacrifice that brought the hero redemption. That's fine but I personally like a more developed and complex female character. And it pains me to say this because I did like Shay, but she bored me. She had no character arc whatsoever. Even her dream as a stylist and her family were secondary to her being Sean's angel and light or whatever. And that really affected my personal enjoyment for this book because I like my heroine as developed as my hero.

That said, there were really cute moments in the book. Plus, the chemistry between Sean and Shay were great. The book did lag a bit halfway through but it does have a wonderfully sweet 'come to Jesus' moment for Sean which made it worthwhile.

Overall, it's okay. Not bad but I wasn't blown away with it either. Don't take my word for it though as I am definitely in the minority here. And if you're a huge J Daniels fan, then this is a definite must-read for you.

When a tormented hero and a completely lovable heroine cross paths in Bad For You it makes for a devastatingly flawless story.

Holy smokes!!! What a rollercoaster ride of emotions! I went from laughing to crying in 1.5 seconds and it was utterly perfect! I have been waiting for this story pretty much since Daniels teased us with possible Stitch and Shay relationship and I couldn't have ask for a better story! I guess it's time to say it...Sean and Shay are my favorite couple in this series! They are total opposites who compliment each other perfectly! Stitch is such a rough around the edges guy, he doesn't let anyone close to him, but for some reason he lets Shayla in. Shayla is such and sweet and caring person who just so happens to be the perfect person for Stitch because she's scrappy and persistent as hell. I had all the feels throughout this story! The build was so great too. I kept on asking myself when they would finally give in to each other and the wait was sooooo worth it!

Daniels just gets better with every new story! I've been a fan of her work for a while now and have not once been disappointed. She is not one of the authors who just stays consistent she blows my mind every time and leaves me hungry for the next. It's safe to say she has a devout fan right here.

This one grabbed me and I could not put it down! Sean "Stitch" Molina was such a mystery when I read the first two Dirty Deeds novels, I didn't dream his story would affect me so much, but it absolutely did. He was so damaged, but yet still such an amazing man, and it was absolutely heartbreaking to get to know him and what he'd been through. Shayla was such a bright light- just an amazing girl with an big heart and just what he didn't realize he needed in his life. I so enjoyed seeing their friendship develop and turn into more. Although it would certainly read fine as a standalone, the supporting characters from the first two books are definitely worth your time as well.

Received in exchange for a honest review.

I loved Sean. From the very beginning you just wanted to show him love and see him get love in return. This man had a horrible childhood. He was treated abominably and so deserved love. To survive he did things that weren’t right and he knew it but was just trying to live. This did get him in trouble and also it saved him. When he paid his debt, he came out wanting to change. His daughter and him needed it. Although he still had very little opinion of himself thanks to his horrible childhood, he worked hard at staying on the straight and narrow and winning back time with his girls. He is such a great character. you feel for him right away and just root for him to find someone that has him realize he is worth it and just loves him for all he is.

For Sean that person is Shayla. From the beginning they were attracted to one another. He broody and listening to her and she bubbly and effervescent. She worked hard and nothing really got her down. Shayla was the one to bring Sean to the man he is. The man that he always was despite him thinking he wasn’t. It didn’t start out so great. Due to his feeling of being unworthy, he did try to push her away but over time Sean couldn’t do that anymore. When he saw her getting down on herself, he stepped in and changed the game. He was there for her when she needed it and they became friends. He helped her brother get past his anger and helped her see she didn’t need to take everything on by herself. She helped him gain self confidence and helped him with his ex. It was her honesty and trust in him that one his heart and soul. It was her kindness, belief in him and her love that helped him realize he was worth it and more.

the story was sweet and sad. Sad because of how Sean originally saw himself and his childhood. It was one you rooted for the good guy to see himself as others did and to find love. It was sweet because Shayla was just so sweet, kind and wonderful-exactly what Sean needed. It was sexy when Sean and Shayla came together for their attraction leaped off the page. I also loved how Sean was with his children. We got the view of both Sean and Shayla and Sean’s will just break your heart but also have it soar as he discovers that he is not pathetic or worthless. You smile as he becomes the man inside and believes Shayla but also falls in love and doesn’t let go. A story of love and believing in yourself. Of second chances and trust. Of friendship and finding your soul mate. A emotional and sweet story that just has you rooting for Sean and also for Sean and Shayla to find their way to each other and find their HEA together.

When J. Daniels gives you a hero so devastatingly broken, sweet, and endearing, that you sob your way through half the book and then sit there clutching your kindle to your chest once you finished, making moon eyes at the ceiling. I seriously can’t even right now. Stitch owns my heart and I never want it back

You put food in front of a starving man, he’s going to eat it. No matter if he thinks he deserves it or not. It was about survival. And Shayla was keeping me alive.

You know what I love more than a damaged hero? A damaged hero with an incredible amount of depth. And it just doesn't get better that Sean. The previous two books hint at a dark pain that this man hides beneath his stoic and silent exterior, but it doesn't even come close to the true demons he keeps hidden. I was torn between wanting to hug him and wanting to cry for him. He was just so incredibly broken that it made my poor little heart hurt.

I wanna be yours,” I panted, watching her eyes dilate and blink wider as she took in what I was saying. “You at my back, stickin’ up for me, and there when I’m fuckin’ terrified…I wanna go to you and I want you tellin’ me I can. I wanna be yours, Shayla.”

I couldn't think of a better match for this broody and silent man than Shayla. She's fun and quirky, sassy and opinionated. She also wasn't afraid to fight for her man, even when what she had to fight was his own stubbornness. I loved her spine of steel and sweet core. This is a woman that cares and cares deeply, and that's exactly what a guy like Sean needs. Even if he doesn't realize it immediately.

This was madness. This was sex without thought, without pause, without question. Letting desire drive and leaving reason and all sense behind. Fuck stopping to think. Fuck wondering, Should we? Could we? What if we did? We were just feeling. Feeling and letting it all happen. It was the most beautiful, chaotic thing I’d ever experienced.

This was very much a slow burn, and I loved it. I loved everything about it. I loved the emotion and the angst, I loved the romance and the sizzle. I loved the characters and the story. Absolutely everything!

I thought I loved Four Letter Word, but Bad For You is now my absolute favorite in the series.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to eat all of my feelings with chocolate. Because I have a lot of feelings.

My cherries cried and burst into a hot mess!

It is because this book just broke me in such a good way.
Such a heartbreaking, angsty, loving story.
I just wanted to hug Sean and hold onto him tight. His life has been rough and when he meets Shayla, he comforts her and she in return comforts him back with his self doubt from his tortured past. A good dose of two broken hearts who help each other find out that love can be possible no matter what.
Great overall character development, storyline and a nice surprise ending that had my cherries popping in excitement.
Loved all these books in this series which can be read as standalones.

This is the Third Book in the Bad for You Series by J Daniels, but it can be read on its own with a few appearances by other characters from the first two books. It is a friends to Lovers story (although its more of a she thought they were friends and he thinks he isn’t good enough to even be her friend). He, Sean “Stitch” Molina, is the broody Mysterious Cook at the Restaurant, Whitecaps, where Shayla works as a waitress.

Shayla has an upbeat personality that serves her well as a waitress and starting her business as a hairdresser, she immediately tries to befriend Stitch and talks to him about anything and everything, and he listens. But when she tries to become more he pushes her away and she doesn’t understand why.

When Stitch helps her out of a tough situation, he begins opening up to Shayla about his troubled past and all the demons in his mind. Once she begins to see those demons Shayla won’t give up until she proves to stitch that he is an amazing person with a heart of Gold and worthy of all the love in the world.

This book was absolutely captivating and impossible to put down! So many feels, i just want to hug Stitch and never let him go!

Bad For You is the pinnacle of romance with all the feels. J. Daniels captivated me from the first page till the very end. This book was heartbreaking, intense, palpable, tangible, and devastatingly beautiful. It was everything you wanted and so much more. There is just something about a damaged broken hero that sucks you in and J. Daniels written Sean Molina in such a heartbreaking manner that your heart ached for him as he found healing, love, and friendship with Shayla Perkins.

Since this book was about experiencing and going through an emotional journey with this couple, I won’t say much since the heartbreak was worth it in the very end. It allowed you as a reader to appreciate the beauty of second chances, healing, and hope. So if you are looking for a story that shattered your heart in pieces but slowly mended and pieced it back together then I urge you to get lost in this book. Fall in love with J. Daniels writing and characters. Hands down one of the best books I have read in 2018.

My 5 star review is posted on Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2236870066

It will be posted on blog and social media on release date 1/23/18 and links will be updated and live at that time..

I have been looking forward to Shayla and Stitch since the beginning of this series and it was even more than I expected!

Shay is a waitress at Whitecaps Restaurant and is also working towards realizing her dream of becoming an independent hair stylist. She has been crushing on the broody, quiet, closed-off cook at the restaurant for a year.

Sean "Stitch" Molina did not have an easy life. He never had support and had to do all kinds of things to survive and has paid the price. And the first step in getting his life back together was taking the cook job at Whitecaps. He works hard, keeps his head down, and doesn't talk much. He does not think he is worthy of love or a real relationship and that he has nothing to give. But Shay would sit and talk to him and they had a connection. But that connection, scared him and he ended up pushing her away to protect her and himself...but that made things at work awkward.

Sean is having a hard time dealing with his own crush on Shay. And when he sees she needs help, he ends up jumping in. But now he is getting in deeper than he should.

Shay is taking on new responsibilities and feeling overwhelmed and Sean's unexpected support is invaluable. They are also both working hard on their own goals and dreams. And Shay is not going to be pushed away again. They become unlikely friends with an underlying attraction and sexual tension. She pushes him and stands up to him and for him. He begrudgingly soaks up acceptance and someone believing in him...but it is so hard for him to think positively about himself. My heart broke for Sean over and over how he was conditioned to believe that he was nothing and did not deserve anything good. Shayla really had her work cut out for her trying to stop his self deprecating ways and to make him feel worthy. He never expected anything good to happen to him or figured he would screw it up if it did.

This was an intense, slow burn, friends-to-lovers story full of so many feels. I truly loved these two together. Sean was so lost and broken, but he had a good heart. And Shayla was so positive, fierce, and determined to show him what love feels like despite his fears and resistance. It was a beautiful story about hope, healing, love, sacrifice, and redemption.

It brings back the other characters from books in the series and I enjoyed seeing more with them. It also introduces some new ones that added depth to the story. This is my favorite of the series by far. It is more serious, emotional, and heartwarming rather than funny or over the top. Sean and Shayla totally touched my heart and made me feel everything. I was totally immersed in their story and hated to see it end. I am looking forward to Nate finally getting a book.

If you have read the other books in the series you know some of the details of Shay and Stitch but this time we get them in all their glory. And what a glorious book it is. FYI you do not have to have read the other books in this series to appreciate this story. Stitch and Shay have the most amazing story and it is filled with emotions of all variety, i laughed, got highly emotional and shut the front door i shed a tear for them. And it takes a lot for me to get this emotional over a story peeps. Such a great writing style by J. Daniels has this romance story just flowing off the pages, i must admit i had a lazy day in bed, and my pjs as i could not put the book down when i awoke. Go read this story, and my review has stayed shy of the details to the characters story as i do not want to ruin it for your reading pleasure. 5 shining Shay and Stitch stars. PS Stitch is swoon worthy

Ok, before anything, I loved loved loved this book! Like, I will read it again and again loved it. I’ve always been a fan of J. Daniels and her writing style and way she weaves a story. Her characters are always instantly likable, relatable and hilarious. The tribe vibe between them all is part of the hooks that get into you.

And this one is no different - BUT - Bad For You was on another level. The raw, instant ‘in your face’ emotion that comes with this story is everything. This story is so much more than boy meets girl, they fall in the love then the end. It’s about forgiveness, redemption, unflinching love and the power of second chances. I loved the openness and fierceness of leading lady Shayla along with the raw honesty and heart in Sean. There were no games between the two of them. They said what they thought and felt with each other and it was so refreshing. The way she goes to bat for him every time, love! There are so many great things I could say about this story but the main one is that it is one that should NOT be missed!

This is a read that will no doubt change the minds of “romance read haters”!
