Loved this book! High suspense and action make this a fast paced read that kept me on the edge all the way through.

Pytheon International security specialist Jett Smith-Jones continues his pursuit of "The Recruiter". When threats are made against Dr. Samantha Stone of Pytheon it is up to Jett to keep her safe while they work together to try and get ahead of the recruiter. They both try to ignore the flaming attraction between them but as the threat increases it becomes impossible. Now Jett not only has to protect Samantha but his heart as well.

Great romantic suspense that I highly recommend.

In The Line Of Fire is another action-packed installment in the Pytheon Security series with a sexy, ex-Delta Force security agent and a smart, sassy psychologist who is in danger on two separate fronts. Protecting her is going to take all his attention and skill.
I came into the Pytheon Security stories in this third book of the series. While it reads well as a standalone story, there is some crossover with the previous books and some events and characters are mentioned in passing. I recognised that some of the things were a little spoilery and tried my best to skim or forget what I've read that could spoil the previous books for me, which I have every intention of going back and reading because I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Fortunately, I already have book 1 on my Kindle. I must have purchased it sometime in the past and not read it yet.
I loved Jett from the very first moment that I met him. He's the best of the best at what he does. He's a warrior, a protector and he's a legend. He's also a little cocky and very confident, which I loved, especially with his first encounter with Sam. That encounter and how he handled Sam's sass and attitude set the tone of the book for me with him. I loved that he was always in control and on top of his game. Even when there were moments when things were spinning out of control and he couldn't be everywhere, he was totally in the game. He was the guy you could turn to and depend on. So damned sexy. And what he was willing to do, to give up because he loved Sam was Kindle melting.
Sam was a wonderful heroine. Even though she came from money and could comfortably live off her inheritance, she's built a career for herself as a reputable psychologist. When she is threatened, she doesn't behave like a prima donna but does what's sensible and necessary about keeping herself safe. Yes, there are moments when she loses it, anyone not trained in combat would, but she's not unreasonable and she's not a bitch about it. I totally understood her meltdown and didn't even fault her for it. I loved what she was willing to accept in the end because of her love for Jett even though it went against some of her basic beliefs. Love really does change a person.
Joss Wood is a new-to-me author and I'm glad I gave her a shot. I've enjoyed this story and plan on going back and reading the earlier books in the series.

3 1/2 stars out of 5
This can be read in the series or as a stand alone novel.
Author Joss Wood created a series about Pytheon Security agents and friends that fell short of expectations.
Her writing style works is a little odd because the characters answer each other questions many times when I though the characters was having a inner monologue. Many times I was confused who was talking and if the other character heard them. The female character would be having a inner monologue and the mail lead would answer the questions. Let face it no man is that good at reading a woman.

It is straight forward there are no twist or turn readers wont see coming. The story is a fast read just underwhelming and most of the story is set up for the sex in the book leaving everything else behind including character build up.

The author created characters that were so unbelievable but it is what will have readers flocking to her series.
The story isn't anything new but it wasn't poorly written. I will try another book by this author to see if her type of story telling chances or remains the same
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher Tule Publishing for the Advance copy of In The Line Of Fire (Pytheon Security #3)

I loved this next installment in this series - the mix of romance and suspense/action is well-balanced. I liked Jett and Dam though he especially ran a bit too hot and cold at times. The back story with his former fiancée also didn’t provide enough detail so it rang a bit hollow. However the one thing that got me was that the description of Sam in the previous book in this series is a supermodel gorgeous blonde and she’s a redhead here! Overall a fun and quick read!

I think I am hot and cold on this book. After reading it and realizing the author is from another country, makes the grammar styles make a bit more sense,. But it is still a tough read for someone if this bothers them.
The plot is decent and I can see the one killer early on. The second discovery is a bit more of a tough sell but it does play out ok.

As for Jett and Sam, well they both had the hot cold then hot again thing going. But overall, if you can get through the grammar, the story is good.

I starting reading ‘In the Line of Fire’ not knowing this was the third book in Joss Wood’s Pytheon Security series so it took a while to unravel the supporting characters and what had happened previously. With the assumption that it was a standalone, there was a bit of a mess when it came to unravelling the threats that Sam faced and I got the feeling that I’d actually been thrown deep into a situation that had its beginnings somewhere off-stage, so sorting out the context took a bit of effort.

Joss Wood definitely has a different style of writing that’s a little quirky but one that jumps out at you—the distinct lack of North American vocabulary can be a bit jarring particularly when the story is about American characters working on American soil—and her characters do and say things I don’t expect. But along with the suspense came a scene with Jett’s ex-fiancée that made me cringe, just as I couldn’t fathom how a strong, take-charge woman like Sam Stone devolved into a clingy, needy, near-TSTL heroine just as Jett blew hot and cold and was plain unkind at several moments when the danger really kicked in. In fact, I found myself barely over the distasteful way Jett sometimes treated Sam and the easy way she managed to let it go before they were already talking about their HEA.

The way the action was set-up (along with the revelation of who the baddies were made guessing somewhat easy) and the behaviour of the characters weren’t elements I could get on board with unfortunately. If ‘In the Line of Fire’ started out great, it fell flat for me by the end…but who knows? It could simply just be me and my prickly tastes.
