I liked this book but did not enjoy it. The characters I felt overreacted a bit too much throughout the whole story. Kat Martin is one of my favorites, always at the top of my TBR pile so I will continue to read other books but her always.

Beau and Cassidy are very determined characters. After Beau's father was murdered they set put to find his killer only they found something much much larger that included the FBI. I really enjoyed this book and I love how characters from the other books showed up. Highly recommend!

This book is full of twists and turns, romance, intrigue and of course, murder. Wouldn't expect anything less from author, Kat Martin!

Beau Reese has found out that his father, Senator Stewart Reese, has fathered a child with a local woman. Before Beau can get his father to sign over his paternal right, Senator Reese is murdered and Beau is the prime suspect. In the mean time, detective Cassidy Jones has been working undercover for the Senator. She agrees to help Beau clear his name and find out who killed his father.

Kat Martin is an exceptional story teller, and Beyond Danger is no exception. Cassie and Beau kept my attention from beginning to end. Their relationship is complicated by distrust and murder, but that just makes the ending all the more satisfying! The mystery plot is VERY well-done. The intrigue and twists and turns had be gobbling up the book. Characters were well-drawn, pacing was action-packed, and the romance was heart-pounding. Another great book from her!

An exciting thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Big shot Beau Reese is angry at the situation his father has found himself in, but after a tragic turn of events, he must pair up with detective Cassidy Jones, to find out what actually happened.

Kat Martin’s new series Texas Trilogy is classical love story with contemporary problems and villains.

As I said about the first book - It’s a cookie cutter story, with all the necessary ingredients just the frosting is a bit different in next books.

In Beyond Danger the storyteller is Lincoln’s friend Beau, and the story starts shortly before his father funeral. He’s mega rich and his father’s murder is something he wants to solve himself. Of course his father hired shortly before he died young and beautiful helper Cassidy, and Beau is convinced that she was his father’s last mistress when in reality she was his assistant. So a handsome, tall, powerful and controlling Beau and beautiful, vulnerable and storing Cassidy – what do you thinks where it takes us. Of course to the bed and of course their bedroom bliss is disturbed by somebody who wants to do something bad and since we live at the time when terrorism is in everybody’s mind, the villains must be terrorists and our two lovebirds save a lot of people from terrible disaster.

As I said a cookie cutter story.

Readable.

4.5 Stars!
I haven't read a story by Kat Martin for a while, but I really enjoyed this suspenseful story. Beau was a wonderful and kind hero who must help solve his father's murder. He ends up helping Cassidy, an assistant to his father. He thought she was his father's mistress, but she is a PI who was hired to find out why his father felt threatened. There are lots of twists and turns, the writing was fast paced and engaging, and I enjoyed the romance aspect between Beau and Cassidy. I'm sorry that I missed it the first book in the series which is now on my buy list and I will continue with this pleasing trilogy.
I received an ARC thru NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion

Once upon a time, Kat Martin was a sure bet for me. However, this book was DNF for me at 20%.

I didn't realize this was the second in a trilogy when I requested this book. It wouldn't have mattered as the book could stand alone. I thought from the description of /Carly and Lincoln they may have had their own story so I checked and after reading this book I bought Beyond Reason and pre-ordered the third Beyond Control. That's how good it was. I admit it has been awhile since I read Kat Martin and now I don't know why I stopped. She gives you a great mix of romance and suspense to keep you interested and turning the pages. Great story, can't wait for the next one.

I enjoyed this this book, it was an easy read. It was hard to put down and very easy to get back into it. I liked Beau and Cassidy and their chemistry. Cassidy was a strong, smart woman, which was refreshing. I always look forward to reading one of Kat Martin’s contemporary novels.

I wanted to love this book, the other reviews are so complimentary that I rushed over to Netgalley and requested this book for free in exchange for an honest review. I didn't care for the two main characters AT ALL. Not even kind of sort of, maybe a little bit. I tried hard to connect to them and I wanted the story to grab me, but alas it did not. I don't feel like the storyline was even plausible. It was sadly all just a big miss for me.

I am a long time reader of Kat Martin and "Beyond Danger" has everything I expect from one of her books. That being said, this story caught me from page one as Beau becomes a suspect in the killing of his Senator father when he is discovered over the body by private investigator, Cassidy. Convincing her he did not do the deed took some doing, but they finally hook up and work together to find the person responsible. Their story takes off with twists and turns and is fleshed out with a combination of suspense and intrigue with some hot romance developing between them. A page turner, the resolution in the murder of the Senator leads to a HEA for Beau and Cassidy. A recommended read, I would like to thank NetGalley and Kensington Books (Zebra) for gifting me "Beyond Danger". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 5 Stars!

Beau Reese is determined to clean up his father's mess after he gets a barely legal-aged woman pregnant. However, when he discovers his father murdered, Beau is determined to discover who killed him and with PI Cassidy Jones on his side, he's hoping he'll have a chance. Yet, the closer they get to the truth, the more dangerous things get for the pair. Will Cassidy and Beau be able to outsmart the bad guys to achieve their happy ever after, or will their determination to discover the truth be all for nothing?

What a wild and thrilling ride Ms. Martin takes readers on in this second book of her Texas Trilogy series, which was filled with plenty of suspense; a good dose of romance; captivating characters; and riveting dialogue that had me on the edge-of-my-seat at times, as the hero and heroine face off against those the bad guys send after them and do everything they can to discover the information they want to catch the killer of the hero's father. Will the pair be able to uncover the information they want before anything too bad happens?

The way this story started had me liking the hero immediately, as he would do anything to help people and I loved what he was willing to do for a teenage girl that needed him. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine come face-to-face for the first time that had me smiling because of the hero's wrong assumption and how insulting it is to the heroine. Will the heroine be able to forgive Beau for what he says? Will she be able to work with someone to get to the truth when he's such a jerk? Moreover, the heroine is resourceful, persistent and I liked how much of a challenge she poses for the hero. While the hero, he's confident, loyal and I liked how determined he was to find the person responsible for murdering his father, even though they don't have the best relationship. I also liked how protective he was of the heroine because he understands her need to see justice served. His father was her client and she needed to see the case through to the end.

Overall, Ms. Martin has delivered another enthralling and entertaining read for this series where the chemistry between this couple was intense, the romance was wonderful; and the ending had me worried for the hero and heroine because of the danger to their lives, but I loved how this story ended for this pair because they need each other. I would recommend Beyond Danger by Kat Martin, if you enjoy romantic suspense, the mysterious strangers trope, the enemy to lovers trope or books by authors Karen Rose, Katie Reus, Jannine Gallant and Rita Herron.

A new series from Kat Martin is always a pleasure to read. From The Raines to The Brodies to The Boss Inc, all have been a thrilling pleasure to read and now the Texas Trilogy is out next week, and is definitely worth giving it a read.

Book two of the series, “Beyond Danger” throws the Texas mogul Beau Reese smack into the middle of his Senator father’s death and a young girl tied to him as family. Even as he’s reeling under the secrets of his father, his father’s supposedly secretary Cassidy Jones reveals her true identity as a private investigator hired by his father to look into the threats on his life.

As the mystery deepens and secrets slowly see the light of day, so does the attraction between Bea and Cassidy. With danger and death and shadowing them, love and trust seems to bring new hope for a future if they can kill the danger before it kills them.

With an interesting and captivating plot, “Beyond Danger” keeps the suspense going until the last page. Kat Martin’s characters, Beau and Cassidy make a good team with their stubbornness, courage and intelligence, giving the story a good dose of passion and intrigue to make this a worthy read.

DNF 20%

Even though the plot was great, the book just moved too slowly for me to get into.

Beyond Danger by Kat Martin is the second book in the Texas trilogy, and my first book by this author. This book is a romantic thriller. Beau Reese is a Texas millionaire who has to put up with his father, Stewart, a retired state senator who gets a teenage girl pregnant. When Stewart is murdered, Beau is the prime suspect. Cassidy Jones is a private investigator Stewart hired to find out who wanted him dead. Together Beau and Cassidy set out to solve the murder. If your into steamy hot romance thrillers, give this book a shot.

I was given a copy of this book for a fair and honest review.

Apologies, but this read really datedly and seemed written in sexist 80s. I'd seriously consider if now is the time to be putting this book out, with all the very much needed women's empowerment that we're seeing. This takes women back several steps.
