From the first book, Don't Call Me Sweetheart I've wanted to know Dustin's story. There was just something there. He drew you to him but at the same time you are like..."this guy is a dick!"

Mixed messages for sure.

I knew there had to be more to him than just what he showed everyone else. Boy...was I right! He is so layered you are going to be shocked. Sure, he's a dick, but he's a dick with a heart and emotions. Tons of emotions. He hurts so deeply that you will also hurt for him.

In the beginning I was a little shocked at how much dislike Rylie had for Dustin. She really didn't like all that he stood for. She saw him only as a cheat and a player. The cheat part she was really having trouble getting over. As the story moves on you'll see why she feels this way about Dustin even if he doesn't deserve all of her mad.

It's easier to be mad at the person who's not causing you trouble instead of the real problem within you life.

The funny part is that when she does deal with a big issue in her life it's Dustin who stands for her. Told you, layers. He helped her out and was there for her with no judgement. You've got to love that in a man.

These two have a ton of issues but with the help of each other they learn how to deal with them, if not get over them. They are so perfect for each other and I was so happy that they where able to see that for themselves. I really enjoyed both of them and my only issue is that I felt in the middle of the story it dragged a little. I found myself getting slightly bored. I can't tell you how happy I was when it picked up again. Talk about being worried. I will also mention that I really liked Charles, Dustin's brother and can't wait to see if he'll have a story.

Rylie Templeton loves her job at Something Borrowed. From planning the fabulous weddings to actually being a part of the wedding party. The one aspect of her job she doesn't love? Her obnoxious playboy coworker, Dustin.

Dustin Kent loves pushing Rylie's buttons. Sure he doesn't NEED to work, but he has his reasons for being at Something Borrowed, and keeping quiet about them is just another thing that annoys Riley... so bonus!

Rylie and Dustin are destined to have a strained working relationship... until Dustin steps in when Rylie needs him most, and these two work acquaintances may turn into something... more?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was a really good read! Book #2 in the Something Borrowed series continues with the story of two people who couldn't be more opposite, continually rub each other the wrong way, and are perfect for each other...
Rylie has formed her opinion about Dustin and not a lot will make her feel differently about him. Even when he saves her from a bad situation, she decides to keep him at arms length as much as she can.
Dustin has never pretended that he was anything more than his playboy bachelor persona suggests. Suffering through a bad childhood, he decided early on that serious relationships just weren't for him.
Despite their differences, now that Rylie and Dustin are spending more time together, their once strained relationship starts budding into an actual... friendship? When Dustin's penchant for flirting and Rylie's newly single status leads them to one night of no strings sex, will their tentative friendship be able to survive?
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
This was a cute fun read that left me smiling! Rylie and Dustin are so cute together. They both work for Something Borrowed. A wedding services company that bridesmaids and groomsmen as part of their service As Rylie and Dustin get plunged into the prenuptial activities Rylie finds it more and more difficult to resist Dustin's charm. While she may be determined to resist him he's just as determined to get her to see how great they could be together.
This is a great read and one you don't want to miss. I recommend it.
I have always enjoyed Codi Gary's books and this is on that list. I liked Ryle and poor thing was in an abusive relationship but had the strength to get out. She was attracted to Dustin but after hearing something that he had done was disgusted with him and barely tolerated him until they had to work together on an assignment. Dustin was attracted to Ryle but he does not do relationships he just sleeps around, but after he ends up being protective of her their relationship changes and even I was rooting for him.
Kiss Me Sweetheart is the 2nd of the Sweetheart series. I have been looking forward to Rylie’s story. This book will pull at the heart because you get to find out what males Dustin tick and why he is the way he is. After Kelly’s book, i’d love to see stories of Dustin’s brothers. A great read!
RECEIVED AN ADVANCE READER COPY FOR AN HONEST REVIEW
Another very enjoyable story in this wedding themed series set in a little town called Sweetheart.
This story is about Rylie and Dustin, who both at a bridesmaid etc. for hire company, Something Borrowed. Rylie needs the money but Dustin is extremely wealthy and doesn't need the job, and Rylie always wonders why he is working there. He does have an ulterior motive, which eventually is revealed.
Rylie has had a bit of a hard time recently, especially with a nasty ex who causes some problems. But she is thrown together with Dustin as they work together on a wedding and she starts to feel differently about him as he helps her out on more than one occasion.
I really liked Rylie's character, she was absolutely lovely, but had mixed feelings about Dustin. He had a playboy image and didn't get involved with anyone, definitely a one night stand type of guy who wasn't interested in anyone else's feelings really. But he also had a lot of issues from his childhood which made him that way. Sometimes I really liked his character, when he was helping Rylie out and acting 'normal', but then he'd say or do something and act like a complete idiot again which made me really irritated with him.
It all worked out well in the end though and Dustin was a reformed character, but it definitely took a while getting there! Very enjoyable series nonetheless and I hope it continues as I'd love to hear more about the wedding themed town a few of the characters have invested in.
Fun, sexy with some emotional moments that will keep you hooked until the end. Dustin and Rylie seem like opposites but have had some hard times in their pasts. Definitely a cute couple, that you root for. Enjoying this series!
Rylie has a dream of owning her own bakery but for now, she is a bridesmaid at Sometimes borrowed. She works alongside Devon a groomsman working for the same company, who is doing it for fun and who is also a ladies man. Well, Rylie is doing it in hopes of expanding the company to include cakes (her cakes).
This was a cute read, I am happy I received it through netgalley and I most defiantly can’t wait to read more.
I loved this book. I wasn't sure about Dustin at first but we actually saw his growth and I was won over. A satisfying mix of humor, heat and more.
Awwww he likes her he really likes her! I had a smile on my face from beginning to the end. Although I had an evil laugh at the Payback 😁. I loved Rylie and the strength she showed she's a definite fighter even through the scariest of all things. Especially for love.
I received a copy of Kiss Me, Sweetheart by Codi Gary from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I was intrigued by the summary and I am happy to report that the book did not disappoint. Yes, the plot was a little predictable and the lead characters made me want to throw my hands up at times, but it was a fun read - and a quick read. A fun, fluffy romance to unwind with.
Dustin is a very territorial man, "when a guy nearby started to ask her to dance, Dustin snarled at him, “Back off, we’re talking.” Dustin likes to grab the bull by the horns, “I propose that Monday morning I walk into your office and I ask you out. And when I do, you’re going to say yes.” Dustin can be a little self conscious, but the man won't admit it, “can you not giggle that close to my ***k?” I liked this book, I loved Dustin.
I received this book from net galley for an honest review. Thank you!!
This novel was a great read!! This book is the second in the series and some of the old characters return but the focus is on a different couple in Sweetheart, California. Rylie Templeton works for Something Borrowed as a bridesmaid for hire to earn money to start up her own bakery, a dream she has had since she was a girl. However, complications in the past have put that dream on hold but she keeps working toward that goal. Rylie is a kind person, always trying to see the best in everyone. However, she thinks of Dustin Kent as a playboy and even though he is sexy, she does not want to be a notch in his bedpost.
Dustin is more than he seems. He has some secrets and an ulterior motive for joining Something Borrowed. He has always thought Rylie was beautiful, but knew she wanted a commitment and he had no plans on marriage due to his own childhood. However, when Rylie needs help, he is there for her, believing she needed a protector. Rylie and Dustin work together on a big wedding, but also get to know each other. Still, Dustin has moments of being a jerk, which hurts Rylie. Dustin slashes out since he is scared of what he feels for Rylie, something he has never experienced before. Rylie realizes what she was missing and falls for Dustin, but believes he could never feel the same way. However, someone is stalking Rylie, and Dustin knows he needs to keep her safe. But will she still feel the same when she learns of his true motives?
