Book 1: This book is full of humor, romance, and sarcasm. A retelling of cinderalla but with a dirty talking prince. there were parts I loved and parts i didn;t such as the step sister. short review but great book.

The author really pulls the reader into the story. So easy to become apart of the main characters lives.
The storyline is fun and fresh.
Definitely great book to curl up in a comfy chair and avoid reality for an evening.

I have never before read any book by Angel Payne or Victoria Blue. So I started this book with no expectations.

I expected this to be some sort of retelling of Cinderella.

It was. Sort of.

I loved the writing and the story but what I hated was a HFN ending. I didn’t know the story actually continues in the second book! I am curious how their story progresses even though I hate cliffhangers.

4.5 stars for the unexpected ending.

This story was.... charming.
see what I did there?
Claire and Killian are swoon worthy, even amongst all the angst. I love Angel Payne, and it was nice reading a book she co-authored. I'll be glad to get my hands on the next in the series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book provided by NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

No Prince Charming is my first taste of Angle Payne and Victoria Blue's storytelling. No Prince is book one in the Secrets of Stone series, and published in March of 2018. I like that these two authors have come up with a modern day Cinderella, kind of, plot. There are just enough Cinderella notes to flavor the story without being a complete copy. I'm impressed with this fresh take.

Claire Montgomery is complicated and yet predictable. She works for her son-to-be step-mother and step sister. They're awful, as you would expect. Their PR company is hired to revamp the image of Stone Global. She's meek, taking all the grief the control freaks throw her way. She competent, smart, lovely inside and out, but really, really, needs to speak up for herself. The writing duo have written the step-sister, Margaux, as the one you love to hate. I adore a character that evokes such emotion.

Killian Stone needs a PR firm to repair the damage his brother has wrought. This guy is as close to Prince Charming as you can get in the 21st century. Handsome, strong, sexy, rich and besotted with Claire. Did I mention rich and handsome? He winds up chasing our Cinderella, but she's fast. The big obstacle for our couple will be secrets, so darn many secrets. Somehow Claire manages to stand up to Killian and not be walked all over. Of course, she runs away.

Our couples story is continued in book two, No More Masquerade. That's where I'm heading, I want to know what happens to Claire and Killian. There are loose ends that I hope are taken care of. Happy reading.

I laughed, I sighed, I had a good time reading No Prince Charming. Angel Payne and Victoria Blue kept me totally amused from beginning to end with this charming but angsty story. Of course, it helped that Killian Stone was uber alpha, romantic and on a mission.
Clair … insecure, smart, socially awkward. With nothing but betrayal in her past, she has no idea what gives Killian Stone the idea that she would be open to anything with him. Besides, Margaux made it clear, right from the beginning, that she will do whatever it takes to be on his arm. She's not one to rock the boat especially since Margaux will soon be her step-sister. She has a job to do, a job she does well, and that's all that is going to happen. Or, so she thinks.
Killian is determined. Determined to bring the good name of Stone out of the spotlight. His brother Trey has done it again but, this time, it could cost him some jail time. He can't do anything but bring in Asher and Associates to clean up this mess. As long as they didn't find the dirtiest secrets his family has, all will be well. Until she walked in and his world tilted on it's axis.
I loved No Prince Charming. It was fun, it was romantic. It had a bitch, a bitchier bitch and a man that knew how to love a woman but not how to be in love with a woman. It was fast paced and interesting. The chase was exceptional and the ending was just as it should have been. I loved watching Magaux be put in her place, I hated what she did to Claire and adored watching the mighty Killing fall. Written with an extraordinary sense of humor and fluidity, Angel Payne and Victoria Blue gave us interesting characters, an exceptional storyline and true romance.

This book was so awful. I can’t stand characters who have split personalities and both of our main characters had them. One second, they’re brilliant, competent adults and the next, they’re insane, raging, hormonal teenagers. The first scene that has the two of them connecting was so promising until she says she’s going to get a cab and he says no, take my town car. It just devolves from there, arguing over how she’s going to get safely to a hotel. I do not understand all the caveman antics that authors pull for men. Is it supposed to be sexy? It’s really not. Later, our heroine gets all butt hurt when she tells him to leave her alone and he does and she goes crying down the street in heels and he thinks she’s going to get blown over by unfamiliar weather... what kind of nonsense is that? Don’t waste your time or money.

No Prince Charming, by Angel Payne, is a modern-day Cinderella story complete with of course the evil stepmother and the devious, conniving and hateful stepsister, who I loved. This book has lots of heartbreak, deception, and of course lusty, steamy scenes.

The best part of the book was Killian Stone, Mr. Prince Charming himself. I enjoyed these authors giving this version of prince charming a total makeover into, in my opinion, the perfect alpha male. He is tall, dark and handsome, the type of guy that every woman looks at when he walks into a room. Now for what kind of drove me crazy, Clair. Clair was smart on the one hand but insecure on the other. Did her job perfectly but was socially awkward and not in a cute way. I did find the chemistry between Killian and Claire pretty hot…but I got whiplash every time Claire ran from him, and oh boy did she run and run. And yes I did get that she was hurt in the past, but time to get over it.

This book was quick and easy to read, the writing, not the best I have ever read, but certainly not the worst. The book was written in the first person, going back and forth between Clair and Killian. I did like the back and forth banter the two had, but there was a bit too much internal dialogue for my personal tastes. I did like the storyline, but there were some parts that I would have liked the authors to expand. I wanted more of Killian’s past and his secrets. I am guessing that it is all in the next book.

Angel Payne has always been one of my favorite authors and now I'm looking into Victoria Blue. I loved this story. It was beautiful in a way that left me wanting more and I was surprised this is a whole series. I cant wait to read the next one. It was full of sarcasm. Made me laugh so hard i cried, and was a cute twist on Cinderella. I love modern retellings anyways, but this one really took the cake.

Loosely based off the Cinderella story, where the princess gets her happily ever after, No Prince Charming promises an alluring love spectacle between Killian Stone, who could be as stoic and hard as his name implies, and Claire Montgomery, lonely and afraid that her secret might destroy the life she’d been building with her dad.

Secrets of Stone is a beautiful series that I have had the opportunity to begin with No Prince Charming. Although I have to admit that I didn’t feel the Cinderella vibes at all in this book. (Except for Margaux, the evil stepsister). I loved how Claire and Killian’s story began and flourished. Killian’s hot and cold demeanor made him irrevocably hot and untouchable to my taste. I have to agree with Claire though, Killian Stone is nerve-numbing, bone-melting Alpha male and he lives up to that reputation. Claire, on the other hand, needed a little more push to the darker side. The PR Team that Claire was working with consisted of interesting characters, while the stepmom and stepdaughter definitely portrayed their roles magnificently.

And then there’s Lance and Trey, the other Stone brothers who’s got dirty tricks up their sleeves. Definitely worth knowing them in the next books!

This was the first time I have read a novel by this author. This novel had me wanting to shake Claire and Killian at times. They had a lot of chemistry between the two of them. They both went through so much. There were times when I did not know what was coming next. I can't wait to read the next novel to see what happens next.

Angel Payne and Victoria Blue create a world that leaves the reader breathless and full of questions. I’m pretty sure Killian Stone is a woman’s wet dream!

No Prince Charming is a twist on the traditional Cinderella story. It's a story with drama and attitude, thus, more relatable than some I've read. The characters take time to develop, and the plot unfolds nicely. I enjoyed the story. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Okay it took me a while to get to this book but once I started I did not want to put it down, it was that intriguing. Claire is a complicated character with depth and personality. Killian was kind and at the same time he could be a tough businessman. Their chemistry and their banter was hot. I really enjoyed this book.

This a beautiful story about finding yourself and learning how to openly love another.
The writing will draw you in after only a few pages and have you finishing the book in one sitting.
There is the perfect amount of angst and romance to keep you hooked. I loved how the relationship unfolded slowly so we could see these amazing characters grow in ways they never expected.

So I have to admit... this book took me forever to finish. Not because it wasnt amazing. But just because I've had a lot on my plate. And hit the mother of all reading slumps a little over halfway through it.

But the holidays gave me the break I needed, and with a well purchased audio. I was able to pull out of it and get back to this wonderful book.

And dear lord. This one is so hot. Like H.O.T.T hot!!
Just everything about this one drew me in. It had the romance. It had the drama... boy did it have the drama haha.
It had the fun and sweet. And it had the memorable characters.

I was drawn in to this one from the start. Claire in general was such a complex character. She had so much dimension. And I couldn't help but lover her personality and drive. Plus she cares so much for her family and job. And I liked that she was this strong kick ass female.

Plus she had a great nemesis for this one. And I think that person played off of claire so well. And really helped make her shine, and showed her at her low points so she could attempt to overcome them. And I enjoyed that aspect so much. I cant help but not like a good bad guy. Or at least a good antagonist I should say haha.

And then there is Killian. Oh mama this man. How do I find me one of him in real life? haha
He was this total enigma as he would say hehe. He could be so kind and caring. And yet the tough and intimidating business man at the same time. He knows what he wants. And can be ruthless when he or someone in his life is threatened.
And the the hunky sensual side of him.... wowza! Haha
Gimmie some of that haha.

But it's not just these characters that drew me in. I love the buildup and work it took to develop. And how fast paced this story went. It kept me wanting to flip the pages. And when I found myself sucked back into this one after my slump.... I just couldn't put it down.

NO PRINCE CHARMING is by far a
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5 STAR READ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
