I LOVED this book SO MUCH. I'm not a huge romance buff, but enjoy the clean Regency romances and around Christmas time I tend to gravitate towards the Christmas romance books, particularly novellas as who has time for a full book during the holidays?

This book, while short, really developed the characters and I was SO HAPPY that this one trope was NOWHERE to be found.

Slight spoiler, be warned.

Usually, there is a huge misunderstanding due to mis/non-communication between the H and the h and that is what causes the RIFT, until they get back together, despite it.

The MCs, while holding some assumptions about the other, quickly spoke their minds, so they were ACTUAL ADULTS and reasonable and responsible and I FELL IN LOVE. MCs with COMMON SENSE, yet were also in love!

As soon as I got to my book store, I GUSHED about this book and asked my Boss if we can order this book and others by this author (because SERIES, WOOT!). This is one I will hand-sell the cover off of. Sweet, clean with a few kisses, Regency era romance set at Christmas-time and the h is a bookseller!

So yeah, full 5 stars on this one. Highly recommended and I am now going to add this author to my Mt. TBR.

My thanks to NetGalley and Night Shift Publishing for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

I received an arc from Netgalley. This was a short delightful read. Great for a Christmas Eve read by the fire. 3.5 stars

Few people do historical romance as well as Deb Marlowe. Adorable characters, a sweet love story, and a delightful historical wonderland make this novella a delight for those who want quick read in the winter.

This was an enchanting tale, of a small boy, an injured warrior and a sweet and loving young woman.
Her grandfather died and she had to close up the bookstore. She had been summonded to her uncle's.
As it turns out, everyone is more or less going to the same place. Then there is Dowd, the excited and sweet boy, who wants a puppy.
I loved this fresh and loving story. Yes, there is intrigue and danger. But the Baron is an injured warrior, I mean warrior. He was in Spain, when he was injured. You can see the slight changes in the characters, they seemed to grow. The descriptions were great, snow and more snow, haha. This so worth the time to read, even if you just need a touch of happy.
I received this ARC and voluntarily reviewed it.

This is the story of Glenna and Alex and Dowd. Glenna has just lost her father. She is alone, so she heads off to a Christmas party of the Duke of Danby, her great uncle.
Alex is a former army officer who has just inherited an estate and a baronet. The estate is a mess and bankrupt. He needs money, so he needs to sell off some of the valuable books on the library. So he heads off to see the Duke of Danby who is interested in one of his books.
Along the way, Glenna and Alex end up at the same Inn,when the road is washed out. Alex's carriage is stolen, so he ends up driving with Glenna when they realize their going to the same place.
Dowd is a little boy who is an orphan, and is abandoned by his servants at the inn, who are escorting him to his grandmother. Glenna takes him with her to her uncles.
The story is short but sweet. I enjoyed it. I though adding Dowd in brought humor into the story.
Another gray Deb Marlowe story.

A cute addition to the Half Moon House series. This was a quick read and very enjoyable. I liked Glenna and Ellsworth together as well as little Dowd who joined them on their adventure.

If you are looking for an enjoyable, quick read, then this is the book for you!

This was a charming quick read. Just a novella, easy to read in a day. Our h has been forced to sell the bookshop of her grandfather and is journeying to the estate of her great uncle, when waylaid by a storm. At the inn she is forced to stay, she meets a child and our H, a newly minted Baron. There is a mutual attraction, but he feels unworthy, as his estate is in need of much repair, she thinks he just doesn’t really care for her. Eventually they work out their relationship, but upon arrival at her uncles estate, he doesn’t approve, until some twists occur.

This charmer of a novella is perfect for reading curled up with a warm glass of something spicy and a fire. With only 60+ pages to meet and fall in love, Glenna and Alex have to speak their minds quickly. There’s very little time for miscommunication or misunderstandings. Fun characters and setting.

Just a quick reminder that Christmas may be over but.....well, it is still cold outside so this book may help you get warm at the inside and not just due to the warm oven next to you.

I really enjoyed reading this sweet story that shows us that love is the most precious gift of all and that setting out to give others a wonderful time and some holiday feelings may end up making you happy as well.
Two people set out with nothing but hope for a better future and ended up finding love and happiness - and the knowledge that their future is secure and will be filled with love despite everything they had to overcome.

A short but sweet and charming book that I really enjoyed.

A short Christmas love story with a happy ever after.- AFTER some drama: kidnapping, the weather and other many problems to overcome. All ends well. Well written and a quick read. A great length for the story to be told. Not too long or not too short.

A young lady, on her way to meet her Great Uncle, since she has no family left, and there is no where else for her to go. On the way, she meets a wounded soldier, who happens to be very handsome, electricity fills the air, however, he is s land poor Baron. She also meets a very young, scruffy, dirty boy. and he is all alone. The one thing that they all have going for them, it's the Miracle Season of Christmas! It's a simple, clean, Christmas Romance!

I read a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. I should also note that I own this book as I bought it when it was published in July so this is my second reading of this book. Lady, It’s Cold Outside is a Christmas Novella that takes place in the world of Deb Marlowe’s Half Moon House Series. It’s a lovely little story perfect for this time of year. Glenna Bolton has lost everything and everyone dear to her and is on a journey to visit her only remaining family her grandmothers brother The Duke of Danby as she has nowhere else to go for Christmas. Alex, Baron Ellesworth formerly a soldier has inherited a title he never expected and is on a journey to sell the last of his valuables in hopes of making much needed repairs to his estate. When a river takes out a bridge they meet up, rescue a child, and bring Christmas with them each stop on the way. Sweet not steamy and guaranteed to help you find your Christmas cheer. #Lady,It’sColdOutside #NetGalley

I enjoy receiving books to review like this because dashes of romance are not my normal read and yet at Christmas time I'm drawn to them.

I'd not read anything previously from Deb Marlowe but rather like that this Novella's plot setting and descriptions are vivid and somewhat predictable.

This storyline begins just days before Christmas and the author boldly throws out the title of the book on the first page.

It's 1816 and Glenna Bolton is summoned to visit the Duke of Danby in Yorkshire.

As the journey begins north, there's mentions of Athena, the Goddess of defense, wisdom and crafts and we soon learn how Glenna portrays these same attributes.

I was lured into Glenna and Baron Ellesworth's lives and rather enjoyed the building and duel perspectives of characters having a common bond over books while traveling by carriage.

Delicious flavors and the aromas of Christmas trimmings are incorporated into this read, heightening our senses.

And with the help of a small acquaintance called Dowd, we watch Glenna's and the Baron's emptiness disappear, as their love blooms.

This is a lovely Christmas novella which invites everyone to share in the romance between Glenna Barton and Alexander Murray (Baron Ellsworth), Their paths intercept when Glenna is going to see her grandfather or more accurately being summoned by, the Duke of Danby, whilst Alex is on his way to Danby Castel to sell books in order to obtain the necessary finances for his estate. They find themselves stranded at an inn whilst waiting for the water to recede from the bridge, preventing them from reaching their destination. Along the way, both Glenna and Alex find themselves drawn to each other.
Once again, Deb Marlowe draws you in to read a beautifully scripted novel, which brings to light such great characters. Christmas oozes from this novel.

I received an advanced review copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Charming, but entirely G-rated novella set around Christmas, with an earnest and hard working hero, a resourceful and resilient heroine and a cute child.

I give this book 5 out of 5 Historical Holiday Stars! I just loved this sweet novella and read it in one sitting. I have been feeling down this year for the holidays because of trials in my life right now but this sweet and historical holiday romance gave me all the happy feels I was craving.

I loved Glenna and how strong she was after losing her bookstore and her grandfather. She had such a caring heart that shined through all especially when she met the child, Dowd. She fills him with hope and helps him along the way but the child’s heart isn’t the only one that she has touched. I loved how Ellsworth fell in love with Glenna and the book has just a tiny hint of mystery to it to add to the charm. This would make a cute Hallmark movie!
