Of all of the couples that Samantha Young has written, Nate and Liv come only second to Joss and Braden. I absolutely LOVED Before Jamaica Lane and was beyond thrilled when this On Dublin Street novella was announced… and better yet, not only is it an ODS novella but a crossover with a newer series by this author, Hart’s Boardwalk. An equally addictive series that brings on another set of amazing characters. I do have to admit that I questioned how it would all work, but I’m not even sure why, Samantha Young is a brilliant author and she blended these two worlds seamlessly. I loved the reason that Nate brings Liv to Hartwell, Delaware and how we got to visit with my favorite couple from that series, Bailey and Vaughn.

Are you still with me? I hope so because now I have to tell just how much I enjoyed this novella. Being back in the ODS world is always amazing, it’s like catching up with family after a long absence. On Hart’s Boardwalk brings us to the life that Nate and Liv have been living the past 10 years as a married couple. It brings us as close to reality as possible and I think that is one of the main reasons why I not only loved the story, but truly connected with it. Like all marriages, it takes work, communication, commitment, and of course unconditional love. Liv is feeling quite insecure and Nate seems to have put those insecurities there by creating a divide, unintentionally, but there nonetheless. After finally communicating, Nate decides to be proactive and takes Liv on an vacation across the pond… away from their home and without the kids. From the moment they arrive in Hartwell their story takes off running. The question being… will they be able to find their way back to each other?

“I can’t lose you, babe. You’d take my soul with you.”

I devoured this novella in one sitting. My time spent with Nate and Liv was filled with anticipation and hope. On Hart’s Boardwalk has all the magic of the On Dublin Street series and all of the heart of the Hart’s Boardwalk series. It is sexy, swoony, and just a little bit angsty… plus, it has to be said, Nate is HOTTER than ever!!!

I didn't know until much later that this was a cross over novel featuring 10 years later after the happily ever after for Nate and Liv. To make matters worse I have not read the author's popular Dublin Street series and was disappointed that the book was not about the many characters on Harts Boardwalk who's stories I have been waiting for. Once I put all that behind me and settled into this book, the story ...................

I know I am among those readers who always wish I could revisit my favorite couples after the author has written "The End" on their love story. This is not necessarily all it might be trumped up to be as this story proves. Ten years after they fell in love the bloom seems to have fallen off their dewy romance. The day to day grind has taken its toll even as they are wonderful parents to their two children but horrors of horrors could Nate have so fallen out of love with Liv that he's having an affair?
Nate is horrified when he overhears Liv's anguish and since he does love his wife he plans to take her away for a beach vacation in the US in an attempt to mend the distance and rekindle their romance. They end up at our favorite inn on Harts Boardwalk. Thank you Ms. Young for weaving in all the characters from the series we grown to know and love as Liv and Nate wander the town and meet the locals. Nate and Liv are mature lovers after ten years of marriage and sharing of losses and pain, there's no need to gently step into sexual encounters instead we get a series of hot and exciting adventures as the two re-kindle the heat in their marriage.
As is typical in Ms. Young's stories, I cried, I laughed and learned a lot about what makes for sustainable relationships. Reminder to self: Find the books in the Dublin Street Series to read.

I was a bit nervous about doing a review for this one because I haven't made it far in the On Dublin Street Series, as in I hadn't made it to book 3 which is Nate and Liv's story BUT I have read the first two books in the Hart's Boardwalk series. That balances things out, right? I think so and honestly, it didn't hurt my experience of the book at all. In fact, it's given me new motivation to catch up on the former series that's been patiently waiting for me on my bookshelf.

As much as I'm loving reading romance I do find that there are times when I want a storyline that focuses on an older couple. The perspectives have evolved and the experiences are different. In On Hart's Boardwalk, Nate and Liv have been married while now, have two daughters and lead happy but busy lives. It's a typical family scenario. What's changed is that they feel disconnected lately leading so rash assumptions and fears about the other. Nate arranges a surprise trip to the town of Hartwell meant to be a relaxing getaway and to get back to each other.

There's so much in this that's relatable that it's easy to see where their issues come from. All they need is for quiet down so that they can focus on them, and Hartwell is that perfect place to unplug from the frenzy and slow down. Nate and Live still have it as they rediscover their spontaneous side and rekindle the fire between them. Emphasis on spontaneous ;-)

On Hart's Boardwalk is a lovely mix of hot and sensual moments and even more so, the playfulness and emotional intimacy that sometimes go missing in long-term relationships. It also doesn't hurt to imagine Nate's sexy Scottish accent in your mind. I loved returning to Hartwell and its characters, and that this is a bridge between Young's two series. Definitely read it!

Samantha Young’s On Dublin Street series is one of my favorites. Of all time. Set in Young’s homeland, Scotland, in the bustling city of Edinburgh, each book is an homage to the streets, lanes, roads, and ways—and all the places I can’t wait to visit—and this group of friends that become a family. And my favorite of all is Nate and Olivia from Before Jamaica Lane. Theirs is everything I love about a great romance: friends to lovers, lessons in seduction, curvy librarian heroine and sexy comic-lovin’ hero who only has eyes for her, once he sees the right one was in front of him all along.

The beauty of the series is growing with all the characters and every couple as the series progressed, and getting to see beyond the happily ever afters in nearly every case. On Hart’s Boardwalk is a very special novella because not only do we get a peek at Nate and Olivia TEN YEARS DOWN THE ROAD (!!), but this time, it’s a crossover with Young’s latest series, Hart’s Boardwalk, or Nate and Olivia Do America.

The other real gem with this family is that they feel real, because they practically are real. In Scotland, they’re part of a bustling, everyday setting, and each couple deals with real family struggles and rough starts, terminal illness and substance abuse, incarceration and poverty, the things that affect us all usually in some way or another. And in the ten years since Nate and Olivia fell in love, they have two careers and two adorable daughters, and they love their life. But along with being busy turn-of-the-30-to-40-year-old parents in the midst of full-blown adulthood, Nate has suffered a loss, and Olivia can’t help but feel he’s pulling away for her when she was always the one he ran to. This angsty uncertainty is so in tune with the ups and downs of life, and so relatable. You’re anxious for Nate and Olivia to get back on track, but in the meantime, it feels so real to know that even our storybook characters go through these stages, the same as us.

Dreamy as he is, Nate’s solution is to show Olivia they’ve still got it, and the two set off on a 40th birthday trip for Olivia to the seaside town of Hartwell, Delaware. It’s hot and sexy—every bit as much as the first time around, because now they’re older and wiser. And the sexiest thing about two people as beautiful and loving as Nate and Olivia finding that new spark is that it’s the last ten years of history that make them so much more even now. It’s a perfect little story, and will only make us greedy to revisit all of our beloved On Dublin Street couples, one at a time, forever and ever.

4.25 stars-ON HART’S BOARDWALK is instalment 2.5 of Samantha Young’s contemporary, adult HART’S BOARDWALK romance series that in turn is a spin-off from the author’s ON DUBLIN STREET series. ON HART’S BOARDWALK is a continuing look at Nate and Olivia Sawyer (Before Jamaica Lane) as they approach Olivia’s fortieth birthday, and the celebration of ten years of marriage. ON HART’S BOARDWALK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines (in either series) is revealed where necessary.

Told from first person point of view (Olivia Sawyer) ON HART’S BOARDWALK is a heartbreaking story that fast forwards ten years in the life of Nate and Olivia, as our heroine struggles with the approach of her fortieth birthday, and the apparent loss of affection from the man that she loves. Nate and Olivia’s love life has lost the spontaneity and romance with the birth of two children, busy lifestyles and busier jobs but Olivia has always battled issues of low self-esteem that are currently exacerbated by her husband’s apparent disinterest, and the approach of her fortieth birthday. Nate will overhear Olivia talking to her friends, and in this Nate struggles to accept Olivia’s concerns. What ensues is the couple’s battle to move forward, and bring the romance and spontaneity back into their lives as they head to America and Hartwell Delaware to celebrate their ten year anniversary.

ON HART’S BOARDWALK is both a heartbreaking and heart warming story; an emotional roller coaster ride as one man struggles with the loss of a friend, and one woman battles issues of the past that continue to affect her self-esteem and ability to let go. The secondary and supporting characters are familiar, colorful and fun; the romance is sexy, provocative and inspiring. ON HART’S BOARDWALK is an uplifting and spirited look at a rekindling romance that had yet to completely fall apart.

On Hart's Boardwalk takes us back into the lives of one of my favorite couples from Samantha Young's On Dublin Street series. Nate and Liv have been together for fourteen years and are close to celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary and as couples do from time to time, they go through rough periods in their relationship and Nate and Liv are right in the middle of theirs.

Things between Nate and Liv aren't quite right and it is starting to get to Liv. She's in a relationship that is different from the one that she's been in from the beginning and things went south when one of Nate's best friends dies. When that happens, instead of leaning on Liv in his grief, Nate pulls away and each day that passes, Liv worries the worries of a neglected wife. She starts to second guess every single thing in their lives and it hurts her over and over again. When Liv turns 40 years old, Nate plans a getaway for the two of them. That getaway takes them to Hartwell, Delaware. The setting that will connect Samantha Young's On Dublin Street and Hart's Boardwalk worlds and this short story brought both worlds together in such a nice way that I was super happy with the entire thing.

It was great to see everyone again. From Josh and Braden to Cam and Jo, Marco and Hannah, everyone was here and I was here for that. I love these characters and my heart hurt for both Liv and Nate and what they were going through together. Samantha Young has created a bunch of special characters and Nate and Liv are a part of that bunch. I really enjoyed seeing them together again and seeing them work through their issues...together.

Nate is one of my favorite men in the On Dublin Streets series and seeing him hurt made me sad but Samantha Young did him a solid by writing this awesome short story that helped heal him from some very deep stuff that he was dealing with. It was great to see Nate, older and not yet wiser and still hopelessly in love with his wife. I loved seeing what comes after the happily ever after and I especially loved seeing two people fight to keep their happily ever after. That's what Nate and Liv did and I loved them just as much now as I did then.

This was a good one. I definitely recommend.

This is a rather delicious crossover novella which takes us back to the wonderful couple of Nate and Liv. We find them at a point in their lives where their closeness seems to have got lost and they need a chance to reconnect. Nate knows that he needs to face some demons and restore the balance to the marriage, so he whisks Liv away to the States for a romantic holiday.

The start of the book is a little unnerving, but brilliant! I enjoyed the story greatly, and they still have all the heat they did back in the day. My only complaint would be that there was lots of descriptive text about peripheral things which I didn't need. Really, Liv and Nate's story was all I wanted to read.

Super sexy, quick read, which I am sure many women will leave for their husbands to read and get some ideas!!

I want to start this review by saying that if you have not read the previous books in this series, I highly suggest that you do. I have read them all and love each and every one of them. These characters really speak to the reader and are approachable.

Liv and Nate are always described as such a great couple – the couple that everyone aspires to be. In this instance, Liv and Nate are trying to figure out where their lives are going. They’ve hit the decade mark in their marriage and with having a few kiddos in tow, Liv and Nate need to find their spark again.

This is such an emotional read. It is real, raw, and organic. The characters relate to real life in that they have issues with communication and need to learn how to do that again. Being young and in love is a great space to be in but being in a marriage is also a fantastic place to be.

Finding a happy medium is what is key in this story. That happily ever after does exist, it just may take a little bit of work. I loved how Nate and Liv worked through their lives and supported each other. There were the steamy scenes I’ve come to expect from this series and I absolutely loved this couple, yet again.

This novella gave me all the feels! It was just what I needed. I loved catching up with Nate and Liv! ON HART’S BOARDWALK is a novella in Samantha Young's On Dublin Street Series and features one of my favorite couples in the series, Nate and Liv, the couple in BEFORE JAMAICA LANE. I'd recommend reading BEFORE JAMAICA LANE before picking up this novella because the story takes place after the couple is married. The series features different couples in each book and they’re all great. Hot romance, great characters and feel-good love stories make this series addicting. I recommend this series for all contemporary romance lovers.

First thanks to Netgalley for the book in exchange for my HONEST opinion...

Ok, I love Nate and Liv and when I seen they had a new Book I was so happy. Then I read the prologue and I was so not happy LOL. But, I pushed on and got to my happy again. This book might not be perfect but as someone who been married 17 years it felt real. I loved that I felt all the "feels" I love Nate and Liv and was so happy to get a little insist it to there family. This book is basically about life and how sometime thing happen and how you need to push though for the people that matter .

We got to see a little bit of the OG Gang too.

I would totally recommend this book to all Nate and Liv fans and all Harts Boardwalk fans too( the Harts crew also) 4 stars.

‘Marriages are not perfect because people aren’t perfect.’

These are sage words that all married couples should remember, even fictional ones, because life isn’t easy…there’s a tremendous amount of ups and downs and even the most in love and strongest couples go through rough patches, and it’s during those times that these two individuals who pledged their lives to one another need to try harder, never give up, and never stop fighting for a love that’s meant to be forever.

When I saw that Samantha Young was writing another story about, Nate and Liv, one of my favorite couples of her On Dublin Street series, I couldn’t get my hands on an ARC quick enough because I wanted to see how they were doing after the unconventional way that these two started their relationship in Before Jamaica Lane, and while it hurts my heart when a pair of characters I adore struggle with their marriage, it’s a realistic portrayal of what any couple might encounter as they spend their years together.

When On Hart’s Boardwalk begins, Liv feels completely disconnected from Nate…I would go so far as to say that she feels shut out on an emotional level and it’s that distance that she can’t seem to shorten that has Liv’s insecurities and neediness wreaking havoc on her heart. For 10 blissful years of marriage, Liv and Nate have been a team, creating an incredible life together and raising their two girls in a loving environment, but with the death of one of Nate’s good friends, things have changed between Liv and Nate; she feels invisible and undesired and until those issues are discussed and resolved, Liv suffers silently and the tension between them will never dissipate if an honest conversation doesn’t occur.

I can’t tell you how much I adored the continuation of Nate and Olivia’s story…partly because their situation is extremely relatable and it will definitely resonate with readers but also because it allowed me to revisit a cast characters that I miss desperately. Because Young creates multifaceted characters, readers feel like they truly know and understand them and it makes reading about them that much more enjoyable.

The fact that Young brings two of her series together and provides Nate and Liv with an opportunity to reconnect in Hartwell, Delaware, makes the setting a perfect backdrop for them to find their way back to one another, and the cameos characters from the Hart’s Boardwalk series provides readers with further insight into how the couples are doing and it also gives readers an outside perspective on just how good Nate and Liv look together and just how much love surrounds them.
Marriage is definitely an adventure, and the message that Young seems to send to her readers through Liv and Nate’s story is that as long as the good times outweigh the bad ones and the couple doesn’t give up on one another then they can tackle anything that life throws at them, and that idea resonates from the pages of On Hart’s Boardwalk in a sexy, sweet, and heartfelt way.

Living life as a married couple can be a dream come true. At other times, it seems to dissolve without notice. For Olivia and Nate – the past 10 years during their marriage passed in the blink of an eye. It was a time of happiness with each leaning on the other for support during difficult times. As with any family, life gets hectic, and somewhere along the way Olivia and Nate have forgotten to make time for one another.

With two daughters to keep them busy, Liv and Nate have begun to drift apart. Nate experienced a loss so profound that it has left him lacking in communication, attention, and affection. After overhearing Liv confiding in a friend that she is unsure where her marriage currently stand, Nate takes matters into his own hands to get their marriage back on track. With their future on the line, Nate takes his wife to Hart’s Boardwalk. A trip that can make or break their already fractured lives.

Get ready for a crossover novella from Samantha Young that will melt your heart. Fans of the On Dublin Street series will get the first glimpse of life for Liv and Nate after married life and children have graced their world. It’s a genuine look at what can easily happen to a marriage when communication, responsibilities, and distance can get in the way of wedded bliss. Live and Nate definitely are facing such a relatable topic, and it was a wonderful treat to have them grace the world in Hart’s Boardwalk.

While I love revisiting the world of Hart’s Boardwalk, Young wrote a wonderful romance between two characters that are very realistic and fascinating. A compliment to the author that has graced fans with this glimpse into one of the most ‘liked’ couples from the Dublin Street world. One thing is certain – regardless which series is your favorite, you will love every single moment of heartache and happiness that Live and Nate experience in this novella.

4-4.25 stars. This was a really good continuation to Nate and Liv's story (from Before Jamaica Lane). This book takes place fourteen years after they became a couple. They are now married and busy parents with two little girls. Nate's company has really taken off and Liv has a demanding job as the head librarian at the University of Edinburgh. The two have gotten in a rut and let their relationship slide as they focus on other aspects of their busy lives. Liv, especially, is really struggling with insecurities about growing older and feeling like Nate has closed himself off from her after the death of his childhood friend, Peetie. When Nate surprises her with an anniversary vacation to Hart's Boardwalk, they are able to find themselves again as a couple and reconnect.

I reread Before Jamaica Lane directly before reading this book so that I could be reminded on Nate and Liv's story. I think that might not have been the best way to read these books. Before Jamaica Lane has a lot of relationship angst and uncertainty about their relationship before they end up with an HEA and together for good. I wish I had been able to see some more happy times between them as a couple before starting this book, which is also full of relationship angst. I know they had many happy times between the two books and I wish I had that feeling before starting this book. I know that would have been hard to convey though, so I'm not sure what I mean. I just felt for both Nate and Liv. It was obvious that they were still very much in love but both were hurting. It was especially easy to identify with Liv and her insecurities. I think having Nate's POV would have helped me feel more secure for her. But I loved both of their characters. What they went through as a couple was normal, but worse because of Nate's dealing with his friend's unexpected death and fear that he could lose Liv the same way. I never doubted their love for each other and their determination to work their problems out together. It was great seeing them work through their hurdles and seeing them so happy together by the end. Overall, this was a sweet, emotional read ! I definitely recommend it and look forward to more from Ms. Young!

With nerves at an all-time high, I went into On Hart’s Boardwalk completely nervous for where Young would take my favorite couple of hers and she led me into a beautifully candid love story between man and wife years after marriage began. Young’s skilled writing expertly delved into what comes after the Happily Ever After, and was unabashed in her portrayal of the issues that arise not just between the couple itself, but the intricate shadows of doubt that grow within. With cameos of characters in two series we’ve come to know so well, this emotionally packed novella delivers on showing a new side to a love story–one with kids and work and insecurities. It didn’t feel like a novella or a lame attempt at re-writing a story already told, but instead expanded on a couple that was so powerfully addictive the first time around and made it more so. This story felt vital to a couple that told such a stark story before, and I loved revisiting what they had to offer years later. Readers will recognize themselves in Olivia–her fears and worries and vulnerabilities–and see parts of their relationships mirrored in hers and Nate’s, and that’s what makes this story resonate so strongly.

Loved Nate and Olivia’s story in Before Jamaica Lane, so I was all over revisiting them ten years later with this novella. Yet, Nate and Olivia, are at a point where they’re having some trouble. I think most married people would agree, it isn’t all smooth sailing and there are ups and downs. It’s all in how you deal with and move on that makes all the difference.

My heart hurt for Olivia as she struggled with loneliness, hurt and insecurity; I don’t think there’s a woman out there who wouldn’t relate on some level. Olivia’s pain was vivid, and intense. When you love someone so powerfully they have the ability to really hurt you, whether they mean to or not. I wasn’t sure what was up with Nate, but I wanted these two to get things squared away.

A trip to the States, on Hart’s Boardwalk helped with their road to healing, and man, oh man did things get so very hot and dirty! Nate and Olivia continue to be one of my all-time favorite couples in the On Dublin Street series! They had a bit of a crisis, with some angsty bits, but it made the making up so much sweeter, with lots of sizzle, of course! On Hart’s Boardwalk wasn’t very long, but it was well done and oh-so-wonderful! This one definitely goes on the favorites shelf!

I thoroughly enjoyed On Hart's Boardwalk. Just getting to be back with Nate and Liv was treat in itself but then to watch as their hearts get a resurgence of love after a difficult year was more than beautiful. Their chemistry is still red-hot and it was wonderful to see an 'older' couple still know how to drive each other wild.

Liv's fears that she was older, fat and unattractive hit home since we've all felt that way one time or another. But Nate, that gorgeous Scottish rogue, whisking them off to a vacation in Delaware was unbelievably romantic. Their trysts were extremely erotic and had me fanning myself and often.

And blending the On Dublin St crew with the Hartwell crew was brilliant. These women and their ridiculously charming and handsome men make me want to visit with all of them! It was great fun throughout and I can't wait for more. I sincerely hope the author continues this kind of treat for her readers.

A solid 5 stars!

“By the end of this vacation you’ll never doubt my love for you again.”

This is a novella that depicts the couple from Before Jamaica Lane about fourteen years later. Nate and Liv have a happy life with two beautiful kids, but while they love each other, Liv feels disconnected from Nate. When he discovers this, he whisks Liv away to the small seaside town in Hartwell, Delaware hoping time for the two of them will bring them back together.

“I can’t lose you, babe. You’d take my soul with you.”

Nate and Liv are my favorite couple from this series, in fact Before Jamaica Lane is one of my all time favorite books EVER so I jumped on the chance to revisit this couple. I really enjoyed this sweet (with a hint of angsty) story between a couple who loves each other, but seems to have lost their way.

Young did a really good job combining her series, I’ve read the Hart’s Boardwalk books but I feel someone who hasn’t could easily fall into this book, nothing is confusing and the writing style makes reading it effortless. I did get really confused on the timelines, because if this is 14 years later (2013+14=2027) and yet it takes place at the same time as the other series (2017) it doesn’t make any sense. I know I should let it go, but it is something that bothered me a bit when I was reading it. I can’t help it lol.

If you read this, you will fall in love with Nate and Liv all over again. Seriously, look up relationship goals and you’ll just see their names in the dictionary.

Also, can we PLEASE get Emery’s book? I’ve been dying for it ever since The One Real Thing and the wait is killing meh!

“I don’t need to walk this boardwalk with my hand in yours to know we’ll last forever, Liv. I know we’ll last forever because I’m never letting you go.”

Samantha Young’s Dublin Street series is one of my absolute favorite series of all time. Imagine my excitement when she announced she was writing a novella about the outstanding couple she created in Before Jamaica Lane, Olivia and Nate Sawyer. And double my excitement when I received the ARC! This baby releases in 2 days and let me tell you, it’s so worth it. Fantastic couple, adorable family, lots of chemistry and awesome secondary characters: it's the perfect combination for a great novella!

So, On Hart’s Boardwalk is considered part of the Dublin Street series (for obvious reasons) but it’s also part of another of Young’s series called Hart’s Boardwalk (since the story is featured in that universe and with its characters too). As I said, this crossover novella focuses on Nate and Liv and their life together after 10 years of marriage. These two love each other immensely, they have two beautiful daughters, and everything seems perfect from the outside. Well, that is not true at the moment. Liv is worried she is losing her connection with Nate. Yes, they love each other but their relationship is not as passionate as it once was. When Nate realizes what is going through Liv’s mind, he does not hesitate to show his wife how passionately he loves her. He plans what will be an unforgettable vacation.

“I’ll never stop fighting for you, Liv. Love of my fucking life.” He swiped away my tears. “We’ll make this right.”

God, I missed these characters! I was so glad to have a little bit more to enjoy them because the Dublin Street crew has a special place in my heart. I loved seeing them all together all over again and I loved reading how Nate and Liv rekindle their relationship. Liv broke my heart at the start of this novella and I fell in love with Nate again because he does not hesitate to fix things between them. He can’t live without his soulmate and he is more than ready to show it to her. And trust me, you don’t want to miss a single word!

“I'm going to make it up to you. By the end of this vacation you'll never doubt my love for you again.”

After fourteen years together, you would imagine the passion is not the same. Right? Well, you are very wrong, my friend! Certainly, Liv and Nate are the same couple we met in Before Jamaica Lane. They burned my Kindle with all that sexual tension and the steamy scenes between them. Holy moly, Nate is hawt for his wife and she loves it! And you know what makes On Hart’s Boardwalk even better? All those emotions. Gah, my poor heart! I was crying my heart out because these two seriously cannot love each other more. They are the perfect couple and they deserved having another happy ending.

“I can't lose you, babe. You'd take my soul with you.”

Therefore, I am rating On Hart’s Boardwalk with 4.5 STARS because it was great to catch up with all these characters (so happy to have seen the Dublin Street crew all over again!) and to meet new ones too! I loved reading how Liv and Nate rekindle their passionate relationship and how amazing they are as parents of those two adorable daughters! If you have read their story, you definitely don’t want to miss reading this novella. I highly recommend it!

What a sweet look into Olivia and Nates future. I loved seeing them with children and how they still go through the normal rough patches a couple would after years together. I'm such a fan of seeing couples with their kids. Especially when the father used to be a major player. Nate was adorable with his girls.

The author gave us a realistic look into the couples future showing that no matter how much you love someone or how long you have been together, you still have to work hard to make a relationship work. And what a great way to show how they overcome that rough patch.

I've only read the On Dublin Street series but I am so intrigued by the Hart's Boardwalk series after seeing these two worlds collide when Nathan and Olivia vacation at the Boardwalk meeting the characters from the other series. I loved getting this great extended epilogue for such a great couple! ARC provided by NetGalley.

You can't get any more angsty than having a strong relationship crumbling under the pressures that come with every day life.

My first thought after reading On Hart's Boardwalk....Damn I should have read this novel after reading both On Dublin Street Series and Hart's Boardwalk series! If you are planning on reading those two series in the future, I highly recommend you read those before On Hart's Boardwalk due to small spoilers contained in this novella.

This is a novella based on the characters Nate and Olivia. You can read there story in Before Jamaica Lane.

On Hart's Boardwalk starts off with an angsty vibe towards an angst filled relationship. Nate and Olivia are at a rough point in their marriage. Olivia is feeling like she's being taken advantage of. Ideas of her husband having an affair are starting to enter her mind. Nate has had a rough time after losing his best friend. He's unknowingly pulled away from his marriage in every aspect. When Nate walks in on a conversation that Olivia is having with her friend he decides he needs to change his ways and he needs to work fast before the love of his life walks away for good.

I'm really kicking myself for not reading Before Jamaica Lane before diving into this one. If anything positive comes from this reading experience it's definitely the fact that I'm very intrigued by these two and their story.

Liv and Nate are probably my favorite couple from the On Dublin Street series. I found the beginning of this hard to read (emotionally). I didn't like the thought of my favorite couple having problems in their marriage. I realize a lot of couples do but this one just broke my heart. Being a novella I was paranoid the story should seem short but it didn't. I have to admit I haven't read all of the Hart's Boardwalk books but that part didn't quite interest me as much as it might have if those characters meant anything to me. It was nice to see all the On Dublin Street characters again but I can't say this particular story overjoyed me.
