Funny, loads of action and well written. This is one of those books you won't lay down, luckily this collection contains 3 books so you'll get some rest in between.

The characters are funny and well developed, sometimes the story is a bit over the top but that's OK in this case. That's part of the genre.
The plots are not always great but the writing style makes up for that.

Sit back, relax and enjoy!

I just did not get on with these stories.
The plot appeared to be disjointed, jumping about and left me confused in places.
Would not bother reading more as there are better mysteries about.

My first time reading this author, and it did not disappoint.

Like the way the books started, didn't try and over complicate with introducing all the characters in the first two pages.

The first book did not only deal with two mysteries but also on the relationship between Al and his brother Maury, and what happened to cause their estrangement over 20 years before.

The second book was not as enjoyable to me, didn't feel the characters had much depth, didn't get to know them as well as we did in the first book. Nevertheless was an enjoyable read.

Finally the last book, back on track for me! Poor Al the quiet retirement he wanted hasn't quite happened, he now has a houseful of people, including Tanner, a dog he adopts from the local shelter. Characters are much improved.
