I found this book had so many different authors. That could you could pass along. My niece and nephew both enjoyed the books I suggested. I really liked that there was enough information given to feel good about the choices I made.

Book Review
Title: Buzz Books 2018: Young Adult Spring/Summer
Author: Publishers Lunch
Genre: Collection
Rating: ***
Review: As per my other Buzz Books reviews I am reviewing these excerpts individually and I have deliberately left out 3 excerpt which I have read in a previous Buzz Books collection.
Fawkes by Nadine Brandes
So, from what I can gather Fawkes is a retelling about the gunpowder plot and Guy Fawkes but in a different way including a romance into the story. I really liked the change in the history to create something really unique, the magic system was really intriguing and was the infection. I also really enjoyed how the author sets up Thomas’ character arc very early on however, this is subject to change. Fawkes is definitely a book I will be picking up as soon as I can.
The Boy from Tomorrow by Camille DeAngelis
The synopsis of this story was really interesting and despite not being in a genre I’d normally read it would be something I’d try. Josie and Alec both live at 444 Sparrow Street. They sleep in the same room, but they’ve never laid eyes on each other. They are twelve years old and a hundred years apart. The children meet through a hand-painted talking board—Josie in 1915, Alec in 2015—and form a friendship across the century that separates them. But a chain of events leave Josie and her little sister Cass trapped in the house and afraid for their safety, and Alec must find out what’s going to happen to them. Can he help them change their future when it’s already past? Seeing Josie and Alec’s first interaction through what I can assume is a Ouija board is funny and intriguing and maybe I’ll pick this one up.
Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne
The next story in this collection is one I have seen everywhere and heard nothing but good things about. So, from the synopsis: Seventeen-year-old Stella Ainsley wants just one thing: to go somewhere—anywhere—else. Her home is a floundering spaceship that offers few prospects, having been orbiting an ice-encased Earth for two hundred years. When a private ship hires her as a governess, Stella jumps at the chance. The captain of the Rochester, nineteen-year-old Hugo Fairfax, is notorious throughout the fleet for being a moody recluse and a drunk. But with Stella he’s kind. But the Rochester harbours secrets: Stella is certain someone is trying to kill Hugo, and the more she discovers, the more questions she has about his role in a conspiracy threatening the fleet. This definitely seems like something I would read almost like Jane Eyre in space, so I’m down for that. I really enjoyed the introduction to Stella and her life in space and how unsatisfied with her life she is but that seems set to change when she is accepted as a governess on a private ship. Definitely buying.
Unbreakable by Sara Ella
Now, this book is the final instalment in a trilogy, so I didn’t read it because if I do want to read this series I don’t want to be spoiled, but from the cover it looks quite interesting.
Legendary by Stephanie Garber
So much like Unbreakable I haven’t read Caraval yet, so I didn’t want to get spoiled for Legendary, so I also skipped over this excerpt, but I have heard some amazing things about both books and will be reading them as soon as I am able.
Chemistry Lessons by Meredith Goldstein
For seventeen-year-old Maya, the equation for happiness is simple: a dream internship at MIT + two new science nerd friends + a perfect boyfriend = one amazing summer. Then Whit dumps her out of the blue. Maya is miserable until she discovers that her scientist mother, before she died, was conducting research on manipulating pheromones to enhance human attraction. If Maya can finish her mother’s work, maybe she can get Whit back. But when her experiment creates chaos in her love life, she realizes that maybe love and loss can’t be understood using the scientific method. Can she learn to trust the unmeasurables of love and attraction instead? This synopsis sounds so interesting to me especially since I am aiming to do a chemistry degree, I was excited to see how accurate this book would be. For the first couple of chapters we are introduced to Maya and her boyfriend Whit as they break up because he has met someone else. In her sadness her aunt suggests taking a look at her mother’s private research which was left to Maya after her mother’s death which may hold the answers to why people break up and how science can keep them together and it may just hold the secret to getting Whit back.
Furyborn by Claire Legrand
Now Furyborn along with Sky in the Deep have been on be TBR since they came out and I have heard nothing but absolutely amazing things about both of these books. All I can say from this excerpt is wow and I will definitely be bumping this up my TBR as soon as I can.
Reclaiming Shiloh Snow by Mary Weber
Much like some of the other excerpts I have not read in this collection Reclaiming Shiloh Snow is a sequel and I don’t want to be spoiled for the series so again I skipped over this one.
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young
Now this is the final excerpt in the collection and it is a book I have wanted to read for quite a while. Eelyn’s world is war. Raised to fight in a generations-old blood feud, her life changes forever when she sees her brother on the battlefield, fighting side by side with the enemy. The brother she watched die five years ago. This premise alone is so intriguing I couldn’t wait to get into the excerpt. Holy hell, this excerpt was great, and I will definitely be reading it soon.
I only gave this collection 3*’s despite the great excerpt in it there were a few I couldn’t read and several that had been in previous collections.

This is a great collection of new and soon-to-be-published titles for young adults. Great way to get a taste of each title beyond a simple description. There are definitely some in this collection that I will be looking to read, possibly purchase and certainly recommend, including Legendary (the sequel to Caraval by Stephanie Garber) and Fawkes by Nadine Brandes.

so excited for some of these!! I just genuinely like the idea of being able to pick up my next reads from before, and I can say that some of these were really good and I just really hope that the full books will be just as interesting. I am usually not keen on reading young adult books, but maybe in the future that will change and i will become more friendly with this genre.

I went through this quick read with a pen and paper in hand because I just had to add several upcoming book releases to my tbr. I cannot wait for some of them and look forward to read them in their entirety. The excerpts of the books were helpful as they gave just enough to get a feel for the book and if I would want to continue. And, believe me, I wanted to continue most of them.

I love Buzz Books for doing this! You must read this book! Or, really, you need to read all the excerpts in this book! Buzz Books takes all the hottest books coming out this year and gives you a short excerpt from each story. Then, if the book is still open for advance reading, you may be able to request a copy of the full story to read. Even if you do not get a chance to read the full story right away, at least you have a chance to find out what interesting and dynamic books are about to come out!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an advanced copy to read. All opinions are my own.

I loved all of those excerpts. I am looking forward to reading most of these titles. All of these seem so magical. The one I mostly loved was Legendary, I cannot wait to read the full sequel to Caraval, it seems nice.

I love the choice of books. I also like how they included famous authors along with novices. It made me want to read all the books introduced, which is the aim of this compilation. It has a variety of genres so anyone reading this will definitely find something that suits to their reading preferences.

The long (and never ending!) TBR always gets bigger when these excerpts are released. There are always so many new anticipated and enticing samplers within these pages.

What a great collection of stories to read! I discovered one day that I was reading young adult books and had thought they were adult books. I love reading Buzz books as I become aware of books that I might not had read as I might not be aware of them. This always makes my to be read book list longer!

I love these seasonal sampler books, this one included some titles I was really looking forward to like Legendary and Fawkes. It also included a few sequels as well other installments from series' I haven't read. I skipped most of those to avoid spoiling them for myself in the event I ever decided to get into them.

As much as I enjoy these some that really hooked me I felt ended to soon lol! But it definitely had me adding even more books to my TBR pile for 2018!

Can't wait to see what will be included in the next seasons!

The Buzz Books always has a great bunch of books to check out, and it's my go-to for new titles I'd like to see in my library. It's a nice mix of debut and established authors, standalone and series, and different genres.

This pack has a great range of books, and I sure do still love Young Adult even though I'm not that age anymore. I've now added Orphan Monster Spy, Furyborn, Frat Girl, and Sky In The Deep. I'm so excited for these reads.
