Romantic Behaviour is the fourth book in this series of the two detectives Andreas and Darren. It is very short and I read it in an hour.
I have enjoyed the previous books as their relationship at work and now as a couple has developed and found the action and drama very full on. This however is much less dramatic and purely involves the planning of their wedding, not without its stress and family relationship problems it was, for me lacking somewhat.
A nice end to the series but could have been written as an epilogue to the last book.

F. I. N. A. L. L. Y. And it was about time, guys!!!

Detectives Andreas Ruffner and Darren Corliss are facing their probably toughest challenge... Their upcoming wedding.

Compared to everything both men have been through, this should be a walk in the park, right? I mean, how hard can it be? After dealing with corrupt cops, serial killers, severe injuries, deep hits on a personal level and kidnappings, getting married should be done with no sweat. while 'should' being the operative word here.

If it weren't for the tiny little fact that your loved ones have certain expectations and you would rather be dealing with a triple homicide than letting them down. Or for the bout of nerves about meeting the incarnate scold that is your future monster-in-law - sorry, mother-in-law - for the first time, which could turn the whole thing into a global catastrophe in the making.

You thought these guys were exhausted while racing against the clock to save people's lives? Yeah, think again. The term 'exhaustion' takes on a new dimension here, but despite of them being way in over their heads, there is one thing they can always count on: each other. And that is all that matters.

The ending to this series was as great as I hoped it would be. With no case to solve, it simply focussed on giving Andreas and Darren their well-deserved HEA. I loved the humorous and sweet undertone of the story and I just knew that both men can do 'romantic' after all. Well, their version of 'romantic', but still... ;-) I basically had a smile on my face from page one. only interrupted by occasional guffawing or when it turned into a glare while entertaining homicidal ideation regarding Andreas's mother.

I can imagine that some people would want more smexy times for these guys, but for me this is not the most important thing in a book as long as the characters make my heart swell in my chest, so no deduction of points from me on this matter. My only complaint about this book: it was a bit too short and I'm not quite ready to let them both go, but that is just greedy-me talking here.

Umm, but in case I ever come up with the idea of getting married in my old age, please do me a favor and remind me of reading this book again before I make any rash decisions, okay? ;-)

Highly recommended!

** SPOILER ALERT **

All I can say about this is ... FINALLY!

After all that Andreas and Darren have been through -- especially the turmoil in book 3, Reckless Behavior, that involved kidnapping and death in the family -- I felt SO MUCH RELIEF with this novella... that FINALLY, the two men get their happy ending.

I thought Andreas' proposal was cute ... I got frustrated along with them throughout the wedding preparations. I wanted to slap-face Andreas' mother for being such a bitch. I was touched and got a little teary eyed when the two men exchanged their vows.

It was a BEAUTIFUL ending for the series. Thank you for writing this long-awaited happiness, dear authors...
