While I went into this one expecting some similarities to another blue alien series, I didn’t think they’d be identical or anything. What I found- was that they weren’t really anything alike. I found myself struggling to connect to this story like I do the other series, and that was disappointing. This one seemed much more unrealistic- as odd as that is to say about a book about blue aliens and their human mates. Maybe future books will improve, but I wasn’t a huge fan of this one.

Wow the second book was even hotter than the first. Usually Im not big on sicen fiction erotica but this author definitely changed my mind!

I am in awe of Anne Bordeaux. I'm so thankful she's writing in this genre. We need more feminist erotic novels and Ms. Bordeaux is leading the way. Her writing is unique as are her stories, and I can't wait to read her next novella.

This was book two to The Roswell Affair, which I didn't realize when I picked it up. To be honest, I wasn't crazy about the cheezy plotline of the first book. If I made the connection, I wouldn't have grabbed this. But I must say, that this is a MUCH better book then the first. Yeah, it's a little cheezy, but this one is not as outlandish as jumping on top of the tied-down alien captive on a whim (Sorry, I just rolled my eyes through the first book) But I have to say that the author redeems herself in this story. No, this is NOT rocket science. I don't think it even tries to be rocket science. But that isn't what these quick reads are about. What I'm trying to say is this one at least has a story line. The only thing I didn't like is that they go out on this trek through the jungle as a challenge. I was ready for some great action, but the challenges didn't seem all that challenging (except for one, that I did enjoy). So I can say that I did enjoy this one overall. It's an easy, doesn't-make-you-think-too-hard kind of book with the guaranteed happy ending that this line promises. Where I didn't plan on reading the book two before, I would now read another book to see if they get even better.

A very quick read that's full of action, sexy times, and tension. This book follows a human woman, Katharine, and a non-human warrior, Breccon, as they seek to prove Katharine's worth and devotion to Breccon. They are put to a series of tests via an ancient ritual and must venture forth through to the alien wilderness to allow Katharine to stay on Breccon's planet.

Although there was never any doubt in mind that Katharine and Breccon would end up together, I was surprised at the tension and sense of foreboding that Bordeaux built up in this short book. I'd read about Katharine and Breccon again in a full-length book and won't hesitate to read a sci-fi romance by this author again.

Katharine decides to travel back with Breccon to his planet to see if she can help cure his people from an illness. His mother, the queen doesn’t believe Katharine cares for her son. Can she prove her loyalty to her new home? This is a fast paced read and the second in the series. I would recommend reading them in order. The story is entertaining and the chemistry steamy. I liked it!

I really had trouble getting into the book initially and getting caught up in the emotions of the characters. The storyline was good, but it just didn’t stand out in my mind amongst other books in the genre. The blurb was great, but overall the book just fell flat for me. The short length didn't help.

when I started this I had no idea it was a sequel to a book. ):

Many steamy scenes provide lots of heat as the plot develops around a strong woman who wants to save a dying race and a fierce warrior who fears he is not loved as he loves. Nicely done.

I liked this one better than the first book in the series. 3.5 Stars.

Katharine Parker is a former US military nurse, and a scientist. She's seen war, and she's no shrinking violet. In fact, after meeting an alien, Breccon Tallel, in Roswell, NM in book 1, she left Earth with him to go to his planet. There is an illness there that is killing his people, and their planet, and she thinks she can help. But mostly, she just loves Breccon and wants to be with him. She has no idea the trials she'll face once she gets there.

Breccon is is an alien warrior, and he's glad to be home. But, the queen of his tribe, who is also his mother, isn't so sure about the human mate he's brought back with him. His mother is very proud, and she isn't sure that Katharine feels the same way about Breccon as he does about her. She thinks Katharine is only there to "save them" from the disease they are fighting, and she doesn't want that for her son. She is against Katharine staying, and the couple has to prove that they belong together.

Breccon and Katharine have strong chemistry, which carried over from book 1, and I liked seeing them in a more relaxed setting on Breccon's planet, Rune-Yon, rather than in a military prison on a base. Even with the trials they faced, this felt much more relaxed than book 1. But, something about these characters just hasn't been able to really hook me. I'm not even sure that it's the shortness of the stories that is the issue, as I've fallen in love with characters before in stories just as short. It's just something about these characters that doesn't quite work for me. They spend a ton of time being together physically, and not enough time really talking and being honest with each other, in my opinion.

Since these are the first 2 books by this author, I would definitely willing to read more by her, regardless of my feelings for this series. If you're looking for a short, sexy read with an alien hero, this could be for you.

His Human Bride is an interesting sci-fi romance with heat. I found the book to be well-written. Katherine and Rune-Yon are drawn together and sparks ignite.

Solid 2.5
I feel like I've read this a million times but it was way more interesting. This is a continuation but it does well as a standalone. I didn't care about the characters and maybe if you read the previous book you will develop some insight into the characters other than they have sex. Normally I ignore the sex in a book because I don't read just for the sex. However if the sex is essentially a character discussing it can't be avoided. Sex is the main character and its boring, it's done frequently for no other reason than it's something they do. This just wasn't for me, alien sex has so much potential that it shouldn't be boring.

Heroic and passionate, this sci-fi short story is very interesting to read.

I think I caught it in the middle as there must have been a previous installment where the couple meets and travels through space as lovers from different planets. The first chapter in this novella reminisces on that.

Despite the awkward start, I enjoyed this story a lot because it is very well written and tells a tale of deep love that must be tested. As ancient Greek heroes, the female character has to face five tasks to prove her commitment to the warrior from an alien planet. Tests of the body and the heart that take her through a wild planet.

The characters are good as they have their strengths and their fears. Many steamy scenes provide lots of heat as the plot develops around a strong woman who wants to save a dying race and a fierce warrior who fears he is not loved as he loves. Nicely done. I would keep reading about this planet.

So this was confusing to read as first until I realized this short erotic romance is the second part of the First Contact series by the same author. The first short is entitled The Roswell Affair and His Human Bride follows the events that occur with that first installment. It was still a very hot and quick read especially if you like erotic romance of the close encounter type. Katherine and Breccon's love story is filled with a lot of sex (of course) adventure and a happily ever despite the short length.

His Human Bride is the sequel to The Roswell Affair. Breccon and Katharine are on Breccon's home planet of Rune-Yon. Things are not going well there since a infection has plagued his people. Katharine believes she can help. At the very least, she wants to live her life with Breccon. If she can help his people, all the better! Only Breccon's mother the High Maiden isn't convinced.

Breccon's mother sends Katharine packing, but Katharine invokes the Rite of Kaal-Nokt. Five tasks must be completed. Together with Breccon, if they succeed, Katharine can stay.

Although a short book, I was intrigued throughout! Katharine and Breccon's love is new and they are working through issues that arise. Having to complete these tasks together, brings them closer together. Love is tested and love prevails! I am a fan!

Funny: when I started this I had no idea it was a sequel to a book I’ve already read.
In the first book, a nurse/scientist helps a Roswell alien escape captivity and flees with him off Earth, wanting to help cure his people of an epidemic. Now, after spending pretty much all of the voyage having sex, she faces her toughest challenge: his mother, the queen. After a quest, needed because momma gave the thumbs down, it’s time for the final judgement.
As is pretty much expected from a romance, even if this one comes with a generous heap of erotica, there’s plenty of misunderstandings to go around, although this one has a bit of an excuse in that alien species think differently. On the brighter side, the characters are likeable, and no matter how stubborn Mom can be, she’s heaps better than the scientists and soldiers of the previous book.
But my favorite part is at the end: “I have to thank Carrie Fisher. I don’t know her. I never met her. But she inspired me so much it seems wrong to publish a book without thanking her. Thank you, Princess.”

This was a very sexy short story. While I thought the story was good, I was lost a bit as I wish I knew this was the second book in the story. All in all this was a good sci-fi romance between Katherine and Breccon and I look forward to more from this author. I would like to thank Netgalley and Carina Press for an advanced copy of this book for an honest review.

Katharine and Breccon are back. After their explosively sexy encounter in Roswell, they've made it to Breccon's world. All would be well, but a whirlwind romance between two people who barely knew one another leaves room for doubts to creep in.

And since both of them are sort of feeling their way through this whole relationship thing, there *might* be some tension they have to deal with.

A little mayhem, some alone time, and plenty of sexy shenanigans. They might be from different worlds, but they're not willing to give up on one another.

She’d taken her pleasure when he was in chains. Now Breccon Tallel will have her on his own planet, and on his own terms.Rune-Yon is like nothing Katharine Leigh Parker had ever dreamed of. A big thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. This was a very short read, but fun. I was a little confused as it felt like this was the 2nd part of a story. How did they meet? I rate it a 3.5. I was entertained. I think other romance readers would enjoy this super short read.
