Rachael is busy running a ranch caring for her son and invalid father when Harrison arrives claiming half the ranch is his. Of course she's not happy about it. But as strange things begin happening around the ranch they band together to solve the mystery. This is my first time reading this author. Really enjoyed the book. It kept my interest all the way through. Looking forward to reading more of her books.

I loved this book! There's a a sexy cowboy and a wounded lady. There is a sensitive topic of rape and abuse but the author did a fantastic job. I fell in love with these characters and was kept on the edge with all suspense. This is a very well written book and I would highly recommend it!

I received a free copy of West of Forgotten in exchange for an honest review.

Unfortunately this book was not as appealing as I had hoped for. The character development was lacking, and I found it difficult to remember secondary characters. There were also several times throughout the story, that I had to reread sections in an effort to understand what the author was writing about.

I would however like to applaud the author for tackling some very difficult subject matters including rape, and sexual assault.

This was a good historical western romance. I have read several of these books recently and this one was one of the best. It was well written with a good plot that pulled you in and made you feel like you were there. This is a perfect way to spend a quiet afternoon.

West of Forgotten had all the components needed for a good romantic read: an opening that grabs you from the beginning and keeps you turning the pages; a hero with integrity, protectiveness, and gentleness; a strong but vulnerable woman. There was mystery, suspense and danger. The author also dealt with difficult subject matter very tastefully. The romance is sensual and tender and also tastefully presented. For those who prefer only clean or christian romances then you would not want to read this one since it does have the couple having relations, howbeit, after marriage. But the focus is more on the courting and not explicit descriptions. The plot has many twists and turns and you find yourself rooting for Harrison and Rachel. The author's note at the end is very helpful and she admits she's suffered through sexual assault and abuse so her descriptions of Rachel's thoughts and reactions have more merit. I would recommend this to anyone, with my noted disclaimer, who enjoys a good suspenseful and tender romantic read. I received this from netgalley for my honest review.

I like this author. Will be reading more of her books. I liked this story from the start. Rachel has had a hard time of it, and then Harrison comes along and changes her life. With all she has been through it is no wonder she doesn't trust men. Don't miss this one, it is good and keeps your interest from beginning to end.
