Missing Molly was a good book the start of the book was very slow and then picked up and became a page-turner. I love how the author kept you wanting more. I would recommend this book for others to read. I was not expecting the ending. It left me wanting to read more by her and made me sad that the book was over.

Thank you to Netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Missing Molly follows the story of Rachel Holloway. Rachel on the outside seems like a normal Mum working at a local paper doing the bookeeping. However Rachel is hiding a dark secret. This secret is threaten to be exposed when the paper she works at decided to run a podcast on a local girl who went missing some years earlier. Molly went missing at 9 when her entire family were brutally murdered and she was the only witness, no one knows what happened to Molly many presumed she was also murdered but as you will see this is not the case.

I have to admit I did find the inital pace a little slow but quite soon I was hooked. It had lots of smaller twists and turns and certainly had me gripped right until the end I will certainly be keen to read more books written by Natalie.

4.25/5 stars for Missing Molly by Natalie Barelli!

Thank you, Pikko’s House, The Last Bureau, and NetGalley, for the ARC I was given of Missing Molly by Natalie Barelli. My rating and review are nothing but honest and non-biased.

Missing Molly is a psychological thriller that kept me at the edge of my seat. It was honest, intriguing, and cunning. I must admit, it didn’t have a grasp on me during the first few chapters. However, after that, I couldn’t stop reading.

Missing Molly is about a woman, Rachel Holloway, that witnessed a tragic incident when she was just at the age of 9 years old, wherein a family was brutally murdered at the comforts of their own home. The parents, Jack and Mary Forster, as well as their daughter, Grace, were killed. There was one survivor, however. And her name was Molly Forster, another daughter of Jack and Mary, and sister of Grace. No one knew what exactly became of her fate, except for Rachel Holloway, because Rachel Holloway is Molly Forster. She has been in hiding, changing identities and locations, in fear of the man that murdered her family, who was still out there, looking for her.

The first few chapters were a bit slow, but it was understandable because it was just the beginning. I’m glad I didn’t put it down. The plot had a lot of turns, but not as much twists as I had expected. I loved Barelli’s easy writing and the fact that this novel went on for how long it needed to be.

As I mentioned, I found the novel very true and real. Some people may think that this plot has too many wounds and that it is very heavy, when it is in fact reality, and shouldn’t be shielded for being that way. Although, I do understand that plots like these aren’t for everybody, and that it may trigger emotions. I don’t exactly recommend this novel for those who couldn’t take works like ‘Too Late’ and ‘It Ends With Us’ by Colleen Hoover. Please take the warnings seriously, and don’t just read the book knowing you might not handle it and write a review on how bad it is for that matter.

Natalie Barelli did a fine job with this novel, and I’m looking forward to reading more of her work.

Rachel is a bookkeeper at a local newspaper that decides to start pod casting. One of the first pod casts is about a missing little girl Molly. What happened to Molly ? and why is Rachel hiding that she is Molly? You have to read to find out. This was a very intriguing fast read. Liked it a lot. Very different book.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC for my Kindle.
Once again, Natalie Barelli has written a great book!
What would you do to save your daughter? What would you do to save yourself, too?
At 9 years of age, Molly's mother, father, and sister are brutally killed. She's hiding in a closet and when she comes out to see what's going on with her family, she faces the killer. Running and living on the streets of London, Molly is a survivor. But the killer is always close by.
A good suspense thriller with a "who done it" that isn't revealed until the last few chapters of the book.
Looking forward to reading more by this author.

A missing child story with a difference. Enjoyable plot and interesting characters.

This book sounded amazing from the blurb. Although it wasn't perfect, it was definitely worth the read.

Rachel Holloway is a woman with a wonderful, predictable life until the newspaper she works for decides to look into a mystery that might compromise all that. She risks herself even more by getting involved. Things obviously go awry from there.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked that she tried to show a little of the emotional effects that would stem from experiencing such huge losses and fears. I liked that Rachel felt strong even in her brokenness. Some of the things that happened felt a little hard to believe but nothing that really got in the way of the story.

4 stars.

This was different and really good! I haven't read a story like this one before and I rather enjoyed it.

When Molly was 9 years old she witnessed her families murder. She escaped and spend the next 10+ years on the run and hiding under a new identity. Molly eventually became Rachel. Rachel had a job she enjoyed, a partner she loved and a daughter who was everything to her. Trouble starts when the staff at Molly's job decide that it's a good idea to search for "Missing Molly."

It was really interesting being on this side of the story. Usually we would be on the side of one of the other characters who does not know where Molly would be and at the end we find out, ohh my coworker is Molly. But no. With this we are in the head of the woman who does not want to be found and how she tries to stop this from happening and the torment of what all this is doing to her. I definitely recommend this and especially so if your in the mood for a different kind of storyline mystery thriller.

Rachel isn't Rachel. Rachel works at a local newspaper, and they need something fast to stop them from being closed down. Cue Molly. A little girl who disappeared 15 years ago, a podcast, some exciting ventures for a local newspaper, and Rachel's hell at being found out.

I enjoyed this book, it was well written (apart from a few typos and grammar errors on the digital version). It had twists and turns and an exciting storyline. I found dlthe end to be predictable, but isn't that what you get from most psychological thrillers these days?

I received a free copy from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review, thank you to the publisher.

* Trigger warnings include sexual assault and domestic violence *

When I first saw the cover for Missing Molly I wasn’t overly interested in the book as it’s fairly generic and doesn’t really capture your imagination. The blurb, however, really grabbed my attention and I had to read it.

Rachel Holloway works for a small struggling newspaper, the South Hackney Herald, and to try to generate some much needed interest and advertising dollars the team decide to embark upon a new venture - podcasting. Piggybacking off the idea of Serial, an extraordinarily popular investigative podcast, the Herald team decide to focus on a nearby unsolved true crime story.

They’re going to find Molly Forster, whose parents and older sister were murdered fifteen year ago when she was a child. Molly has been missing ever since. The problem is that Rachel Holloway is Molly Forster and there’s a good reason why she doesn’t want to be found.

While I was definitely interested in knowing what came next and I enjoyed the slow reveal of the information discovered during the investigation and its impact on the various characters, I don’t imagine it’s going to be one of those books that lingers in my mind, with me thinking about the characters weeks later. I didn’t particularly love or hate any of the characters and unfortunately I didn’t emotionally connect to any of them.

I was entertained and I liked the guessing game of whether Rachel really was Molly or if in fact she was psychotic, although I found myself searching for red herrings that I never found and didn’t get caught up in unexpected twists and turns like I’d hoped. There was one incident that initially surprised me but one I’d read it it made perfect sense and I was able to come up with the reasons behind this and who had done what quite easily.

Favourite quote: “Memories, unpleasant ones, are like a scab. You hate them but you pick at them anyway” (93%)

Phew! Missing Molly by Natalie Barelli is one of those books that keeps you second guessing what you thought you knew, by the time you are done with this book you'll have questioned yourself a few times on whether or not Rachel really is Molly or is she really just a crazy mixed up woman with identity issues. This author spins a wicked tale and I will be looking for more from her in the future, thank you for a great read!

Oh my goodness..... that was one crazy ride!

Rachel Holloway has a big secret..... and that secret is about to be exposed. The small local paper that she works for decides to start a series of podcasts in order to attract advertisers. The subject is Missing Molly.. the 9 year old girl who has been missing for 15 years since her family was murdered in front of her. only Rachel knows where Molly is and has been... she is Molly.

I really felt for Rachel and her desire to keep her family safe by keeping her secret. She does everything she can to stop the podcast and keep herself protected. This is a very fast paced page turning story that you will just not want to put down.

Thanks to The Last Brueau via NetGalley for a copy of this book to read in exchange for my honest opinions. A fantastic book that gets in your head

Missing Molly – Natalie Barelli

Rachel Holloway is living an idyllic life in England – she has a beautiful daughter, Grace, and a sweet man by her side that she hopes to one day marry. She is employed as a book keeper for a small newspaper and seems very content with her life.

But, Rachel has a secret. She once was known as Molly Forester, before a monster came and killed her entire family, with her barely escaping the killer’s clutches. Alone, and afraid for her safety, she took to the streets and learned the tricks of survival. And she learned how to gain a new identity.

Now, the newspaper is in dire straits financially, and the small group of employees seek to find a way to regain notoriety, and to save their fledgling newspaper. To Rachel’s horror, her colleagues decide to create a podcast based on Molly Forrester and the fact that she remains missing after the slaughter of her family. Rachel attempts to dissuade her colleagues, but to no avail. As the podcast progresses, Rachel/Molly once again finds her life in upheaval as old wounds are re-opened and new details emerge. Her old nemesis returns, she suffers a breakdown. and once again finds herself in the fight for her life...and the life of her daughter.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book, and found it hard to put down. As the story progresses, you catch glimpses into the past and learn what really happened to Molly and her family all those years ago. I would highly recommend for those looking for a cozy afternoon read, and I will definitely seek out other novels by this author!

I really enjoyed this novel and finished it within a day. It’s a fast-paced read that kept me guessing about Rachel’s true identity. Is she the missing child Molly Forster or is she really the “psychotic” Rachel Holloway?

Rachel is satisfied with her life and job, bookkeeping for a local newspaper. When she learns that advertisement is down and the paper is in danger of folding, she's all for any idea about how to inject new life into it... until she learns what they're going with. They're going to start a crime podcast, digging into an old case. It sounds interesting enough at first... until she hears the topic. They want to learn what happened to little Molly Forster. Problem: Rachel IS Molly Forester, the young girl who disappeared years ago after the massacre of her entire family. She's been hiding ever since. No one knows, not even her boyfriend and father of her child. Not her best friend, who she works with at the paper. And they cannot ever know... or she's convinced they'd all be in danger.

Her co-workers dig into the investigation, determined to save their jobs and find out what happened to little Molly, completely unaware that Molly is in the same room. How can she continue to hide her past while pretending to work on uncovering it? And how can she keep herself and her loved ones safe from the real murderer?

Super engaging plot and easy to read, I enjoyed this one. I'm happy to be the first reviewer on Good Reads! I've enjoyed this author before, and I'm sure I will again. The main character often comes across as younger than she is, sometimes unaware of the meaning of words I'd consider relatively simple, which I was confused by at first but then realized it was down to her abnormal childhood. I figured this one out early and it has a bit of soap opera drama to it, but it was a fun ride. It gets a 3.5 from me, worth the read for suspense lovers who want an easy read with high stakes and a lot of drama.

I received an advanced copy of this book from Net Galley and The Last Bureau, thank you! My review is honest and unbiased.
