"A Song for the Dead" eBook was published in 2017 and was written by Nathan Mutch (http://nathanmutch.com). Mr. Mutch has published two novels, both in his "Unity Empire Series". This is the second book in that series.

I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Violence. The story is set in a universe where space travel is common. No mention of Earth is made. The primary character of the story is Unity Starship Captain Viktor Medreyev.

Medreyev and his allies continue their struggle to save the clones and preserve The Unity. They find themselves constantly the target of one group or another as they seek the shady organization they want to destroy.

This was an OK read of 7.5 hours for this 356 page science fiction novel. While I like the overall plot and the characters, the story felt a little unpolished (though better than the first novel "The Unity" in the series). While you could read this as a stand-alone novel, understanding all that was going on really needs the first novel in the series. The cover art is OK. I give this novel a 3.5 (rounded up to a 4) out of 5.
