This is a wild and riveting read. It was like a twisted dark version of "The Parent Trap"/ the Netflix movie "The Princess Switch" except not everyone's in on the swap. It's evident that the author has a degree in psychology, because she's fantastic about getting into the mind and psychique of these characters.

I have twins so this kind of stuff really creeps me out. Although these twins had very different lifestyles and one got an offer they couldn't refuse. I will say parts of this were very far fetched almost like daytime TV but still entertaining. It took me a while to figure out who was good and who was bad which was great. Overall a decent intriguing read!

I decided not to continue with this book before I reached the halfway point. The writing style was not for me.

This was a solid psychological thriller novel about identical twins that were separated at birth and raised in different environments. A fast, entertaining read.

Let me start by saying that I have a twin obsession so this book was right up my alley. I loved everything! The different personalities of these sisters, the suspense, the way the book twisted and turned just when you thought you had it figured out. This was a quick read for me because it was so good I stayed up all night to finish it. I can't wait for this authors next book!

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for this ARC.

Thank you to Thomas & Mercer and Net Galley for a free copy of this book in trade for an honest review.

It’s an interesting read with the center of the story is human greed. Where money is more important than relationship or family. There are times where the characters questioned their motives. It’s a plain story, quite predictable, with a bit of twist in the end but it’s something I can’t put down from the start.

The story is quite simple. Identical twin Mallory and Charly got separated after birth. Mallory lives in poverty while Charly lives like a princess. It’s like the story of the Prince and the Pauper, only with a twist of crime. What are the chances when in the future their cross path. And then here comes Ben, Charly’s husband with his plan to murder of Charly and take her money. In order to do that, Ben needs Mallory to replace Charly. What Ben can’t predict or control is Mallory’s action that will bring an interesting plot into the story.

The story is separated into 2 section: Mallory and Charlotte point of view. But the majority of the book sees the events from Mallory’s side. Both Mallory and Charlotte by the end of the story just want to live comfortable with all the money in the world. Even though in the end they get together, still the greed for money is there, unspoken.

The characters are strong and quite stable in their attitude. Mallory is pictured as a strong woman with live of poverty as her background. She’s not easily weepy and could make friends quite well. Charlotte on the contrary is pictured as a spoiled, fragile woman. Very emotional and lonely. Ben is pictured as a very greedy person. Does the money changed him? Or has he been always like that?

The end is a bit twisty, compare to the whole story. It put a nice variation on this book. All in all, I think it’s a good read with a strong psychology background.

Recommend for those who love a good thriller with a psychology background and a bit of twisty plot.

I can’t say enough good about this book, it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. There were so many twists and turns it had me guessing until the very end! This was so amazing, I can’t wait to read more by this author!

This is a hard one to review. I didn't dislike it, and I thought the concept was great, but it kind of goes off the rails of believability towards the end and it takes a little while for things to get going at the beginning. The characters just had me kind of saying "huh?" sometimes. I would read something else by this author though. Two things I loved are that the Kindle Unlimited version has free audio, and it's a fairly quick read/listen.

Thanks to the author, NetGalley, and the publisher for a review copy.

I LOVE that you NEVER know what was about to happen next in this book. I get so bored with books when your able to be like yep thats the one one she'll merry in the end, or that's the one that dies.. Not this book it's an easy outlandish unpredictable read.

In a lot of ways this was a lot different to what I was expecting but this actually added to my enjoyment of the book,. The writing was vey good and the characters were well written even though I disliked some of then but for me that's always good and it proves that they are true to life. Twins are always an appealing subject and this book made the most of that ...All in all it was a enjoyable read and I would recommend if you like an entertaining read ..

This was just pure entertainment. This is just crazy storytelling that goes beyond the boundaries of believable. You just never knew what was going to happen next, and then it did. Overall, I thought I had this figured out and then WOW, I had no idea when the blindside came in. This is a fun, quick, entertaining read, if you are into thrillers and enjoy reading about twins.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

This novel was a real dilemma for me. On the one hand the writing and the story kept me enthralled until the end. I was instantly drawn into the characters of the twins and was interested to know how it would pan out. Ben is a great villain hatching a truly despicable plot in order to keep the lifestyle that he has become accustomed to. As the story progresses he gets more dastardly and the twists and turns keep coming..

However that’s why I’m in a bit of a dilemma with this review. As I’m afraid that some of the plot does require a bit of suspension of belief. Firstly someone tells Mallory that she looks the spitting image of their friend. From that she jumps immediately to the conclusion that she has a twin sister. Really? A few people over the years have told me they have seen my doppelganger in York, including people who know me extremely well. Now whilst I suppose there is a chance I have a twin sister around I think it’s probably much more likely that there is just someone who looks me.

Plus Ben as a villain was just a bit too cartoonish for me. The whole plot seemed so far fetched that it was comical rather than thrilling. However that is not to say I didn’t enjoy it, I did very much so. You just need to read it as it is, a piece of fiction with a good story!

This book was extremely fast paced which made reading it pretty easy and quick. I enjoyed the general plot. A lot of it was unrealistic and just convenient for the story which made it not as interesting. I did like enjoy the twist of Mallory and Charly however the story just fell a bit flat for me.

The Good Twin certainly puts the 'thrill' into thriller. I raced through the pages of this book. It has as many twists and turns as a whole series of Dynasty (I'm showing my age, I know) but I wanted to get across the fun element amongst the dark and devious goings-on. It has a great premise packed with a punch. You can't fail to be intrigued by this great book.

As a twin myself (fraternal, not identical) I have a soft spot for twin stories, and I have an even softer (?) spot for dark mysteries, which are the exact two elements that combine to give The Good Twin by Marti Green. This is the story of a waitress/artist, Mallory, who discovers that she has an identical twin sister, Charly, who was given up for adoption and is incredibly wealthy, while Mallory was raised by their poor, single mother. It turns out that Mallory can have everything that Charly has, if only she goes along with the sinister plan proposed by Charly’s husband…

While The Good Twin requires a heavy suspension of disbelief in order to enjoy the over-the-top plot, once you get any expectation of the story being realistic out of the way, it’s a lot of fun to read. The book is basically the literary equivalent of a soap opera, jam-packed with drama and emotion and twists. Green’s writing is compulsively readable, I finished The Good Twin in a single day while on vacation, and I definitely enjoyed it. As outlandish as the story was, I wish that the ending had reined things in a little bit more. Overall, The Good Twin was the perfect light but dark mystery read for the beach, and if the plot enticed me again, I’d consider picking up another book by Green in the future.

The twins in this book are pretty interestingly written. Mallory and Charly are as different as different can be, and Marti Green keeps you constantly wondering what, exactly, is up with the two of them. Are they honest? Can I trust them? Or, as you increasingly suspect, are they trying to manipulate me?

The weakness is Ben, Charly's husband, who almost feels like a stock character from Central Casting. Everything about him is predictable. Maybe the way that he doesn't surprise you is intentional? Maybe with all of the unpredictability of Charly and Mallory, Marti Green wanted a character about whom you knew what to expect? The problem is that even such optimistic thinking doesn't quite work. You're left feeling let down because two-thirds of the characters are intricate and complex, whereas one-third is dull.

Will you see the plot twist coming? Probably, and I blame Ben for that. But will you avidly turn the pages when you're in Mallory and Charly's chapters? HECK, YES.

Read this and let me know what you think. Were you as disappointed by Ben as I was?

Mallory grows up as an only child to a struggling, single mother and works as a waitress in Queens, NY, while taking art classes in her spare time. One day at the diner she works at, she gets mistaken for someone else and is told to go to an art gallery in Chelsea to see for herself how uncanny the resemblance is. What she finds is a wealthy long-lost twin sister who seems to want nothing to do with her. Mallory gets caught in the middle of a devious plan of lies, deception, and double crossing.

This thriller was a good quick read, which I enjoyed. The plot, however, is so unbelievable that I just had to laugh at some parts. Solid thriller, ridiculous story line.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC.

This book kept me guessing until the end! There were a few issues with the plot, but overall I thought this was a solid 3.5 star read. It is a very quick, easy read that you will not be able to put down!

Which One Is It?

Temptation is clever. It knows how to go to our most vulnerable places to snare us for its own purpose.

Mallory Holcolm is living an ordinary life, oft times wishing it were different when she learns she has an identical twin called Charly. When she gets up to courage to face her, to see if could be true, Mallory meets Charly’s husband instead. Ben instantly sees an opportunity.

His plan came awfully fast to consider—and speak about, but once you let that go, you will follow this edgy trail all the way to the end.

The author develops the mind and actions of each character very well. Mallory, raised with little, struggling for something out of reach, chooses her path. Not a good choice, but you will clearly hear the little voice convincing her. When decisions alter you may find yourself on her side, if not completely. Both sisters have complicated personalities that will make you question just which might be “The Good Twin.” Definitely a unique way to get to know your new sister.

It is more than twisting. It makes several unexpected turns that are startling. Are any of them righteous? The story shows the lengths one can be pushed when the right—or wrong—buttons are pressed.

I can’t say much more without giving away too much of the plot. There are many details to be revealed page by page. Just read it. You will find it a suspenseful, complex plot that will keep you glued until the dramatic finish. Complicated though it is, it is a fast read. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The Good Twin reads like one of the best thriller movies you've ever seen. You can see the characters as the excitement builds. My family had to fix their own dinner since I was deep in the story. Which twin is ultimately the "good" twin? You'll have to read to find out!
