Morgan is my hero. Wonder mom, fantastic lawyer and part time detective. She barely sleeps and lives off candy bars and coffee. She had a truly badass moment with the principal and a teacher, another reason to idolize this character. Plus, she has a hottie detective she gets to work with and he absolutely loves her kids. Throughout the series these two are put through some serious trying moments. This time it's more personal, Lance's dad disappeared many years ago and there might be some answers. I'd like to say jump in the series anywhere, but there is a continuing connection between characters even though the crimes change. It helps to read in order you won't regret it. My copy was given through Netgalley and I'm pleased to give my unbiased review.

A taunt thriller that kept me riveted to the pages until the very end.
If you’re like me and love a well-written, captivating read, then this is the book for you. I’ve always enjoyed anything Melinda Leigh has written, and BONES DON’T LIE is no exception. I highly recommend it.

I have yet to be disappointed with anything Melinda Leigh has written. Her characters are well developed and continue to grow as the series progresses. Every character dead or alive as a reason and purpose to be in the Morgan Dane series.

Readers will be pulled in from page one until the last page giving readers everything they have come to know and love from Melinda Leigh's writing. She bring characters from different series and we read as they have changed and grown since readers read them last.

The romance in the story progresses and will pull at readers heart string as Morgan finds love again and her family feels.

The author allows readers to grieve with a mom, wife and friend. They will feel Morgans pain as she moves forward. Readers will feel the same emotions as Morgan and her girls as they read this series.
I love how she address Bulling in this day and age. I agree it is no longer acceptable to allow Children to behave and call it Kids will be kids.

This could be a stand alone novel however I would recommend anyone picking up the Morgan Dane Series start with book 1 to really understand the different characters.

The mystery that has had readers wondering will be answered and will have reader sissified with the ending.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author Melinda Leigh and Montlake for the advance copy of this series.

Melinda Leigh you never disappoint

4.5 Stars!

Bones Don't Lie was an exciting and fast-paced read with amazing characters and a plot that will keep you guessing from start to finish.

For twenty-three years, Lance Kruger has lived with the consequences of his father's disappearance. When his father's car is pulled from the bottom of Grey Lake it should be what finally leads to closure after all these years except for the fact a skeleton is found in the trunk. Now a missing person's case is a murder investigation forcing Lance to question everything he thought he knew about his father. When Lance and attorney Morgan Dane begin investigating the case, it becomes clear someone is willing to do anything to keep these secrets buried as every witness begins turning up dead. As Lance and Morgan dig deeper into the case, they will soon find themselves targeted by a killer.

Morgan has to deal with a new prosecutor who takes an immediate dislike to her when she refuses to be bullied by him. Also, someone Morgan previously put away in Her Last Goodbye receives parole and she is understandably worried about her family considering the man vowed retribution. She continues to be able to handle herself and gets a bit exasperated when Lance tries to step in to help her.

Lance takes more of a central role in this book as the case is about his father. He struggles with telling his mother about the new development in the case, worried about how she will react. When she reacts better than he expected, he has a hard time accepting her response and continues to worry. Lance never stops to think about how the case is affecting him and he tends to isolate himself as he doesn't want to be a burden. Until Morgan pushes him, he tries to deal with everything alone and he particularly has a hard time leaning on Morgan.

A number of side characters from the previous books returned. Morgan's family isn't given as much of a central role in Bones Don't Lie as this book was more so tied to Lance, but they do still make several appearances. Sharp, Lance's boss in the PI firm, returns again to help out with the case and he's more involved than previous books as he was the one who originally investigated Lance's father's disappearance. Lance's mother returns although she understandably doesn't help with the case this time around. Sheriff King from book two, Her Last Goodbye, returns as he's in charge of looking into the skeleton found in the trunk of the car. He butts heads with Lance, Morgan and Sharp again as he dislikes what he sees as them interfering in the investigation.

The investigation into the skeleton found in the trunk of Lance's father's car was quite interesting and went in several directions I didn't expect it to. Lance definitely struggled with the investigation as he's tied so closely to it and Sharp and Morgan had to reign him in several times. I was ultimately very surprised by who the killer was as it was someone I never would have expected. Also the ending of this book was fantastic and full of tension with some action-packed scenes.

Bones Don't Lie has been my favorite book in the Morgan Dane series thus far and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series releasing later this year. I would highly recommend this series for fans of romantic suspense with more of an emphasis on the thriller aspect.

Get ready to burn the midnight oil! Melinda Leigh has another super suspenseful story to tell her readers. Melinda's stories just keep getting better and better as evidenced by the latest in her Morgan Dane series, Bones Don't Lie.

A car, the same make and model as the one PI Lance Kruger's father was driving the night he disappeared twenty-three years ago is discovered and pulled out of a local lake. A skeleton is discovered in the trunk. Is it the skeleton of Lance's father since it was found in his car? It turns out there are more questions than answers after this discovery. Lance Kruger and Morgan Dane are determined to find the answers to these questions in the hope of solving the mystery of the disapearance of Lance's father.

This book is extremely well plotted out. The conflict is compelling and the resolution quite satisfying. I really like this author's writing style and think she is a fantastic Romantic Suspense writer.

I received an arc from Netgalley. I love Melinda as an author but I just couldn’t get into this book. Maybe I couldn’t get into the book as it was a continuation of the same characters from her last. I was just looking for a fresh new story.

BONES DON’T LIE by Melinda Leigh Montlake Publishers
Intriguing beginning “she’s still alive,a minor miscalculation”, a night of mishaps for the killer. For Lincoln a case, waiting for a break for over twenty years. For Lance, a closure, of a missing father, but it was female, so where is he. Morgan, has news that Tyler, is out of jail, still threathing to get her, after trying to strangle her before. The happening of a small town , will answers come, with Morgan using fresh eyes, of reading the reports. I found it to have a good in-depth plot, with a feel for the characters, and their emotions. Readers will want to read this from cover to cover, in a sitting, for they will want the answers. Given ARC for my Voluntary review and my honest opinion.

A good read and a well-thought out plot, but slightly slow in places. A 20-year old cold case is reignited when a car is dredged up from a lake. Whilst the car belongs to a local man who abandoned his family 20 years ago, the trunk contains the remains of a waitress from the local diner. If the bones in the trunk aren't the man, then where is he and who callously murdered the waitress?

Gripping to the very end, and a psychological thriller that you will not be able to work out until the very end, when the author wants you to.

For twenty-three years Lance Kruger has been wondering what happened to his father. He left one evening to go to the grocery store and never returned, leaving ten-year-old Lance to care his mother who had and has a variety of mental illnesses including anxiety and agoraphobia. Lance was mentored by Lincoln Sharp who investigated the disappearance and has since formed his own private investigations business. After Lance was shot in the line of duty, he left the police force and joined Sharp as a private investigator.

This is the third book in this series. In the earlier books, Lance meets widowed lawyer Morgan Dane and her three young daughters. Now Morgan is in private practice as a defense attorney and renting an office from Sharp. Together they have investigated a few cases and have been building a relationship. Not an easy thing for a harried mother of young children and a man who has a mother who still suffers from a mental illness.

As this book begins, Vic Kruger's car has been discovered in a nearby lake and there is a body which has been reduced to bones in the trunk. At first it is thought to be Vic's and the placement indicates that he was murdered. They soon learn that the bones don't belong to Vic but rather to a young woman named Mary Fox who disappeared the same day Vic did.

Sharp, Lance and Morgan go back to the beginning and look at all the information about Vic's disappearance and now have a new disappearance to investigate. It also looks like the murderer has decided it's time to clean up any possible witnesses and more murders take place. Lance's mother is also attacked in what first looks like a suicide attempt.

This story is fast-paced and intense. The chapters from the murderer's point of view are chilling. I enjoyed the relationship that is building between Lance and Morgan. They are both great characters - strong, smart, and fierce.

BONES DON’T LIE (Morgan Dane #3) by Melinda Leigh is another thrilling addition to this series!
One mystery that has influenced Lance Kruger’s life for the past twenty-three years was the disappearance of his father, Victor Kruger when he was just a boy. His mother’s mental instability completely collapsed and he took on more responsibility than any child should.
Lincoln Sharp, Lance’s current partner in their P.I. firm has always carried the burden of the unsolved case from his years as the detective assigned the case. He took the fatherless Lance under his wing and helped with his mother. Sharp is called to the scene of a car being pulled from the bottom of Grey Lake. It is identified as belonging to Lance’s father. They do not find Vic, but they do find a female skeleton locked in the trunk.
For Lance, this development causes more questions than answers and also has Lance questioning if his memory of his father is accurate. As Sharp, Lance and Morgan all work to find the truth of what happened all those years ago, some witnesses are being caught in lies and others are being killed for the information they have. To add to the suspense, Morgan is also receiving threats from an unknown source.
Ms. Leigh keeps making this series a must read for me. The plotting is fast paced and the dialogue is realistic. The warmth and love between all of the characters makes you want to keep returning to check up on them. The emotional growth and love between Morgan and Lance is wonderfully satisfying and heart-warming. I was completely surprised by the killer, which makes this book even more fun for me. I am looking forward to many more books in this series to come.
Thanks very much to Montlake Romance and Net Galley for allowing me to read this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

I have read all of Melinda Leigh's novels and this third book in her Morgan Dane series did not disappoint. Lance's backstory is brought to the forefront and involves characters from his past ( his mother Jenny & his mentor/boss Sharp) as well as his present plus a few new ones. The author seemlessly tied all of these characters together for a conclusion that shocked me - and I'm usually pretty good at solving these before the characters do! I was satisfied with the story's conclusion and look forward to the next installment in this series.

Awesome book! Great mystery with lots of twists and turns. I really enjoyed the close relationships between all the characters. If only, I could find a family like that. The scenes out at Grey Lake were especially good, very realistic. It was like you were there living it, whether is was at the opening scene , or at the end, it was intense! Melinda Leigh's books are great. Great storylines, and great character development. I look forward to the next book in the series:)

I was really looking forward to reading this book. Now I am disappointed, I have to wait for the next book. As usual Melinda does a great job drawing you into the story. Lance has been living with the mystery of his Fathers disappearance since he was a young boy. A car has been pulled out of Grey Lake that only raises more questions about his Fathers disappearance. Witnesses to his Fathers last hours before he disappeared are being murdered and someone is stalking Morgan.

This is a great story with characters you can relate to. The book focuses more on the mystery aspects than the romance. I did not come close to guessing who the killer was. This is the 3rd book in the Morgan Dane series and I hope the author continues with the series. There are characters that I would like to see have their own story. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

I am a die hard Melinda Leigh fan and I have to say I LOVE this series and each book gets better and better!!!!

The characters are awesome, some you love, some you love to hate (for me anyway), and some just make you want to give them a hug!

If you love murder, mayhem, angst, twists/turns, and an ending you didn't see coming, than this is the book for you!!!

I'm looking forward to the next book in this series and I hope its Sharp's story...I love him!

If you haven't picked up a Melinda Leigh book, you NEED TO right now and you won't be disappointed.

This is book three in the Morgan Dane series and can be read as a standalone , although reading the previous two books will put the characters more fully in the setting .

Private Investigator Lance Kruger's father disappeared more than 23 years ago , his mother's already fragile mental health taking a further hold on her reality .
His father's car has been discovered in a local lake , a skeletal body in the boot ...has his father finally been found ?
The body in the boot is not his father and is in fact that of a young women .....a missing person case has now become a murder case .
Lance's his growing romance with attorney Morgan Dane must take a back seat , all of Lance's efforts must now focus on finding out what has happened to his father ........is he responsible for the woman's murder ? , if so where is he ?
Lance tries to bring back his memories of that time , questioning all his fathers old friends and even the Police Officers on the original case .
Someone is watching Lance and Morgan ... they do not want the past stirred up and are killing the witnesses in this case before he can question them again .
Morgan is determined to help Lance find the truth despite the dangers .........who can they trust ?
Who is trying to stop the truth from coming to light ?
The truth when finally revealed is hard to believe !!

Another brilliant book in this series - the slow growing romance between Lance and Morgan is a pleasure to watch ( rather than the norm in most books of instant gratification ) . I do hope there are more books to come in this series .
