Good break down of various moves and technique. I would use this as a reference at the gym or when putting together a training program.

A fun book that really makes you work like an MMA fighter. Good photos, descriptions and workout plans for your personal fitness goals. A nice book for anyone who wants to train like a fighter or mix up their fitness routine.

I liked the concept about this book! As a person that works out myself, I think it is important to try different workout styles to train different muscles. So, a book that incorporates the usage of bodyweight and weight training is a well rounded guide.
Not to mention, the nutrition outline this book provides is excellent! A common misconception people have is that the physical training of the body is important, when it is actually thethings we put in our body ( protein, veggies, fruits, etc) that's most important. I like that they include information of that nature as well, instead of just various workouts.
I would buy this to add to my collection of training guides and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a workout good workout guide!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This four week training program is intense for an absolute beginner like myself, however each move is explained thoroughly so don't feel like a beginner.

I love MMA. Or at least, I like to watch it and think "man I would love to do that". Now this book isn't going to make you a MMA god by any means, but it was very helpful. I will admit, I didn't follow the plan exactly and probably should have ate a little bit better, but still saw some results. I think if you did everything the book told you, it would be easy to see the results you want. It was easy to read and follow. Well executed.

This book contains many interesting exercises that I could see adding into my program.
The exercises seem to be well described, but they don't have enough illustration for my liking.
Exercises average around two pictures each which makes it hard to know how to safely execute an exercise.

If you know me, you know I love learning and adding different routines into my workout schedule. I love seeing how other trainers design their programs and their reasoning behind the design. This being said, Cat includes training programs in the back of the book from beginner to advanced. Fun stuff!

Thank you to Netgalley, Cat Zingano, and Alpha Books for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I will be honest I am not much for watching MMA fighting but I am about finding a new workout. This is a lot of strength training and focuses mainly on the upper body and full body movements. I didn't find the program intimidating.

I think anyone who has never thought of this type of workout would find beneficial or can be added to change up anyone normal fitness routine. The pictures in the book are of real MMA fights which helps to give women real body positive images.

Your body will hurt but the more you do it the less pain you feel. The diet tips might not be forever but they are helpful for those wanting to build more muscles.

Thank you to Netgalley and Alpha Books for the advance copy

I am super excited to try the workouts in this book. I love strength training and am always looking for great workouts for women incorporating strength-training. Once my ankle heals, this is a program that I'll be trying out. No doubt about it. With helpful tips & tricks, information that isn't overwhelming, and models that are actually MMA fighters, I feel confident that the Cat Zingano knows exactly what she's talking about.
