It's been a few years since I last read a Shelli Stevens novel. Which is why I requested this story; and I'm glad I did as this was an enjoyable read.

That had a likable group of characters, including the main two Ian and Sarah. And although I didn't necessarily feel much in the way of chemistry. I did enjoy the second chance nature of their relationship and how it developed as this story progresses.

Plus, it was sweet and easy to read, and there was little angst; and enough of a story to hold my interest throughout. And I would happily recommend it to others.

Loved! Loved! Loved! I am so excited about this series featuring the McLaughlin clan. In this book not only to we get to meet the McLaughlin's but we get to watch as Ian and Sarah get a second chance at love. Teenage loves Ian and Sarah thought they would spend their lives together. When secrets and lies tear them apart they both move on. Now eleven years later they are reunited. It soon becomes clear that the pull between them is still as powerful as ever. When the secrets of the past are revealed will they be able to overcome them?

I can't wait for the next in the series! I highly recommend this one.

This is a very sweet and touching romance about second chances. In this case, it’s the story about Ian McLaughlin and Sarah Rawlings. HS sweethearts that were separated not only by a betrayal but also by a family transfer.
Eleven years later, divorced and a single Mom, Sarah is back in Whidbey Island. She has inherited her grandmother’s house . Her goal is to stay the month required by the will , put it up on sale, and leave before she runs into Ian. Plus , she has secrets she doesn’t want to reveal.
Little did she know that she that she would see him before she reaches the town.
The attraction is still there but history has a way of getting in the way, as well as old hurts.
The engaging plot and complex characters will keep your interest throughout the book.
This is not only a story about second chances, but also about family, loyalties, misunderstandings, and hope.
Looking forward to the next book in this series.
I was gifted this copy by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Just finished this story and really enjoyed this second chance romance.
Sarah has to return to her old town where her old childhood lover, Ian lives who's also her best friends brother. They didn't part on good terms and she's hoping to avoid him since her time there is temporary .... But is that possible? Ian wasn't expecting to see Sarah back but once he does it seems feelings he thought was gone come flooding back....
A story of heartbreak betrayal and secrets but a chemistry that cannot be denied regardless of the past and true love,
This story takes you on an emotional journey with unexpected twists.
4star from me just because I prefer to read stories wrote in first person but this won't stop me from reading the stories of the other McLaughlins!
Thank you for the ARC opportunity !

This is about second chance romance, they have good chemistry together. Overall a good story line, can’t wait to read more about the family if the author writes more books about them.

Loved it. Good story line. Pulled you in from the very beginning. Thought at first Ian was arrogant, but he turned into one of my favorite guy characters. He's a bad boy who's really a good man. It's all about second chance love and Ian and Sarah are deserving of that. They have great chemistry. Makes we want to read the whole series.

One More Round is a captivating story about second chances revolving around deception, hidden motives and fear. Sarah Rawlings fell madly in love with Ian McLaughlin in high school. Planning to find a way to stay on Whidbey Island when her father was deployed to Japan, Sarah instead leaves Ian behind with hurting words. Being caught in bed with one of her good friends sealed his doom.
Eleven years later Sarah is back after her grandmother dies and leaves her a house. Sarah has no intention of seeing Ian but fate and his family have other ideas. She has harbored a secret those eleven years from Ian and even his sister, Kenzie, her still best friend does not know. Disclosure would bring trauma for everyone and Sarah only hopes her month long stay will never uncover her secret. But, a month is a long time.

Oh Sarah and Ian..... I did this backwards and read Colins story first so my interested in Ian was sky high and let me tell you that I was not disappointed. This series is ohh so good, and though you might think you know how the story will unfold, let me tell you: you do not.

Let it be known: I am a total sucker for Scotsmen . Despite this family being state-side for a majority of their lives, they still had that lovable lilt to their dialogue. Anytime I read 'Aye', I basically fall over dead with lust. Certifiable? Maybe.

Without further ado, let me introduce you to Sarah and Ian. They've experienced a rocky past, and haven't seen each other for 11 years. Shocking when the two of them were very much in love during high school, but Sarah's reasoning makes sense.

Only now, she's been forced to return to Whidbey Island because her grandmother has passed away and the stipulation in her will clearly states that Sarah must live in the house for one month before deciding whether or not to sell the property. She, of course, isn't thrilled to be anywhere near Ian, but circumstances keep throwing them together. Not a difficult thing to do when her best friend is Ian's sister.

Sarah is also hiding a major secret from the McLaughlins, one she's hidden all these 11 years and plans to keep lying about. She can see that Ian is still the man beneath the bravado that she fell in love with, but even after a few times of making love, is it enough reason to reveal her secret and possibly ruin everything? After all, she never planned on seeing him again. But the heart is a funny thing - especially when it's never fallen out of love with the man to begin with.

Reeling from a messy divorce, the loss of her grandmother, and the guilt weighing on her every day -- she's forced to make some big decisions, and she's ultimately surprised to discover that Ian might have never forgotten about her, either. That them being together like she always dreamed might just be a possibility.

Lots of previous trauma to uncover and get over, but it was so enjoyable to read. And hot! I'm telling you - give me a dirty talking Scotsman, and I'll be happy for the rest of my days.

Plus, he has 2 other super-hot brothers and I'll definitely be reading their stories next.

I had read this story years ago but it was under another name, however when I saw this I still requested it, I enjoyed back then, and I enjoyed it now. Sarah had broken up with Ian years ago, when she found him in bed with one of her best friends Hailey, she was so angry that she said some horrible things to him, I can't say that I blamed her, I would have been upset too. Ian is a known bad boy, and now he is a manslut, he thought he could see Sarah again and not have any feelings, boy was he wrong. Ian wasn't really nice to Sarah when he sees her again, but all the feelings he had for her returned and he admitted to himself he never stopped loving her. Sarah never stopped loving Ian, but she is keeping a huge secret from him, how will he react?..Well my friends you need to read. And as always, Enjoy!!

We’ve got some Scottish brothers in the house! There’s a sister too but let’s focus on the yummy McLaughlin men. I love reading books with accents in it. It makes me happy.

This was my first book by this author. I liked that it’s a second chance romance and I really enjoyed it. Sarah and Ian have some super hot chemistry going on throughout the story. Of course you’ve got the misunderstanding and secrets, but overall, it’s a solid read. I do like that there’s going to be books on the other 3 family members. I would absolutely continue on with this series.

Ian just doesn't ask for permission at times, "he muttered, “I’m collecting my payment.” His mouth claimed hers." Ian is awfully sure of himself, “no.” He cupped her cheek. “I’m the man who’s going to make you come at least five times tonight. If you’ll let me.” I really liked this book, and I'm excited for Ian's other family members to get books.

I enjoyed the first book in this new series about the McLaughlin siblings. Whidbey Island is a place I’ve read about before and would love to visit so I enjoyed the setting as well. This book is about forgiveness and second chances - both Sarah and Ian had a lot to come to terms with about their pasts in order to move forward. The ending was a bit of a surprise twist! Can’t wait for the next book.

Sarah is a mess: her grandmother just passed away, she’s currently in the middle of a divorce and, to top it all, she needs to go back to the place where her worst memories were created.
Whidbey Island was the place where she lived the love story of her dreams and where she got the betrayal of her worst nightmares. Ian McLaughin had been everything she could have asked for in a boyfriend eleven years ago, until he messed it all up. Now she not she slightest bit interested in crossing pads with him, but things don’t always go the way we want them to go…
“If all goes right, you’ll be on and off this island quickly enough without ever having to see him.”
One more round is a second chance romance, and it is a good one!
Ian McLaughin is one of the Scottish brothers and sister and the perfect word to describe him back when he and Sarah met would be: troulbemaker. Actually, eleven years later he still kind of is, but he’s also running his business and if there’s one thing that you can expect from the McLaugins is that family always comes first.
On the other hand, Sarah was always the good girl, and she still kind of is. And even though they were so different from each other, they were always good together. Still are actually. Especially in the bedroom!
Which leads me to the fact that a lot of the book’s sparkle comes from the sex scenes. They’re not crude, nor forced but they are a little descriptive.
Regarding the storyline: they currently hate each other due to the way they parted ways eleven years ago but the off the charts chemistry between them is bigger than any misunderstanding they might have. There’s a not so subtle secret in this book that even though it can be kind of obvious to some people, I never thought of it until it was right in front of my face.
“She’s prettier now, if you can believe it.”
Overall, I highly recommend this book. If you like a big family story this is totally the book for you. The entire series is actually for you because from what I gathered, the next books will be about the other McLaughins brothers. Just don’t forget the fact that the book has a big sexual component if that’s not your thing.

If you love second chance romances then you should really check One More Round out. Young love and misunderstandings is what Ian and Sarah had in the past. Sarah is strong willed and trying to do what she can. Ian comes off as a bad boy but in reality he really is a sweetheart who will do anything for his family. Once secrets and truths come out for Ian and Sarah you can tell that they are meant to be. I love the chemistry between Ian and Sarah. Your heart aches just a little once you hear what they both went through while apart. I really can't wait for more of the McLaughlins stories to come alive. Such a great read. I'm surprised I haven't stumbled upon Shelli Stevens books before now. I can't wait to read more from her.

I liked this book... I really did. My first read from Shelli and I can't wait to read more of this series.
The McLaughlin clan are going to be a wealth of great story material! I can already tell.... onto this story.
Ian and Sarah. In a nutshell, they have a past. Sarah lived on Whidbey Island when she was in high school, her father was in the Navy and stationed there. Ian's sister and Sarah were best friends and she and Ian developed a relationship that as we get into the book, we are given their history. Spoon fed. Just the way I like it. When Ian makes the mistake of his young life and Sarah's father gets orders for Japan she basically vanishes within a week. 11 years later she returns because her Grandmother has died and she's left her home and must meet with the attorney about the will. The terms of the will require her to stay in the house for a month. Much to her dismay, she doesn't want to see Ian, much less be around him for a month. She's married and divorced and has a daughter who is back east in Florida with her Mom. The McLaughlin's own the pub in town, Aleck the oldest is owner and brother Colin and Ian's twin is a Sheriff. Kenzie works in the pub and the only girl to these protective brothers. The parents have gone back to Scotland, but they all remain close. I loved how closely they were connected.
Sarah and Ian keep crossing paths and the steam was off the chart between these two. Ian's a bit rough around the edges and his mouth gets him in trouble much of the time with Sarah. But the chemistry between these two is insane. The story is perfect and when Sarah's mother shows up with daughter in tow for a surprise visit the earth spins right off it's axis! That's all I'm going to say.
This is a must read and Shelli has included a sneak peak at the next book which is about Colin and I can't wait to get my hands on that one!
Fantastic story!

One More Round by Shelli Stevens, first book in The McLaughlins series. A great start to a new series. A possible second chance at love and so much more 11 years later. I enjoyed the characters, dialogue and storyline in this book. It grabbed me from the first page and didn't let go. I look forward to reading future books in this series and more by this author.

"One More Round" is a second chance romance. I enjoyed this story. The author did a excellent job the main characters. I didn't particularly liked Ian in the beginning however as the story evolved I fell in love with him. Ian and Sarah had great chemistry. This book is part of a series but can be read as stand alone. I can't wait to read about the rest of the family.

I read a complimentary arc from Netgallery for review

I had never read this author before and this is book 1 in a new series. I quite liked the story. It is very hate/love type of story. Ian has done Sarah very wrong but once upon a time he was the hot older brother of her bestie and they fell in love. Dated and then he did something unforgiveable. Then Sarah disapeared for 10 years.

Now ten years later she is back and well both of them hate the other. But they are also beyond attracted and so they cannot escape the other. I don't want to spoil too much but I liked that the episode ten years before was not brushed off or easily forgiven. I also liked that the way Sarah acted really hurt Ian and he let that show.

I did really enjoy this story but I am not sure I will read the 2nd book in the series. I did really like Kenzie so her story I would be interested in reading.

A rather sweet second chance story between Sarah and Ian. When Sarah returns to the island to take care of her grandmother's house, she encounters her old flame Ian, and the sparks fly. A lot of misunderstandings and issues to overcome before the HEA, but that is to be expected. Started a little slow, but glad I stuck with it to the end. Look forward to the next book in the series now. Highly recommend if you want a quick and fun romance story.
