Cora and Lucas had a one night a long time ago. Since then he became and retired from special ops and now does special security. Cora moved on and was engaged to someone who turned out to be a scumbag. Today Lucas is working to keep Cora safe from herself as she searches for her ex who took a family heirloom. Can he retrieve the missing ring without losing his heart to Cora? Can Cora keep her distance from the man who broke her heart? Sounds like a possible shot at a second chance romance. Good read!

Second story of Maclean family. Cora couldn’t believe her fiancée cheated on her. So when she found out where her ex fiancée was hiding, she decided to find him and get the ring back from her. what she didn’t know was his ex fiancée was more than just cheating scumbag.
When Cora’s brother sends his best friend Lucas to retrieve his family heirloom, he finds Cora and trying to keep her away from the harms way.
Now Cora decided to take some time off before she looks for new job. Cora was not out of harms way, so Lucas decided to stay with her and protect her. They knew each time their from the past and they didn’t want to fall back again but it is harder when they are spending time with each other.
Two weeks away was great but what will happen when they get back.
I liked this book better than first one.

Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to like Cora since she was all mad at Stella in the 1st book. However after reading this book, she has been redeemed in my eyes, This is a second chance romance novel and by the end, Lucas did, in fact, earn his second chance.

Her Forbidden Warrior by Lucy King
(The Maclean Family Legacy Book 2)
Breaking up isn’t that hard to do…
Not when Cora Maclean’s cheating scumbag of an ex disappears with a ring that has been in her family for a century. It’s the putting her life back together afterwards that’s the problem. How hard can it possibly be to go to Spain, find her ex and persuade him to return the heirloom? Her plans definitely do not include rekindling a decade-old crush on a man who once broke her heart.
Former special forces operative turned businessman, Lucas Hart, has a job to do–one that now includes keeping reckless Cora Maclean out of danger. So what if she’s more gorgeous than he remembers? She once hurt him badly and that’s not something he’s inclined to forget. His sole aim is to finish the job while keeping her safe, and he has absolutely no intention of falling under her spell again. Besides, Cora has sworn off men for now.
Or has she?
This is Cora Maclean and Lucas Hart's story.
Cora Maclean’s cheating scumbag of an ex disappears with a ring that has been in her family for a century. It’s the putting her life back together afterwards that’s the problem. How hard can it possibly be to go to Spain, find her ex and persuade him to return the heirloom? Her plans definitely do not include rekindling a decade-old crush on a man who once broke her heart.
“A female. Brunette. Mid to late twenties, I’d estimate. Approximately five-seven, slim, well dressed. She entered the house at 1804 and left at 1856, local time. I believe she poses a significant risk to the operation and as a result of her visit could be in danger.”
Lucas Hart sat at his desk in his penthouse office on the tenth floor of the central London building that housed his company, utterly gripped by the real-time action unfolding on the monitor in front of him.
Lucas as owner and CEO of Hart Solutions, a global business providing services that ranged from corporate fraud investigation to political risk analysis to crisis response, Lucas gave the orders rather than received them, but that didn’t mean he didn’t occasionally miss the thrill of danger and the wits by which he’d lived on and off for nearly a decade.
Maybe he needed to take a break, he thought, frowning as he glanced away from the screen to pick up the phone that was ringing and vibrating its way across the desk. Maybe working virtually non-stop for four years had consequences he would now be wise to heed.
Her Forbidden Warrior by Lucy King is a 3 star book.

I really enjoyed this book, but I did not feel the title went well with the story.

I was really hoping that Cora might have made some changes from the character she was in His Best Mistake. She might have softened a tiny bit, yet she’s still the same impulsive, must have her own way or no way Cora. Once again, I’m more intrigued with the non-member of the family this series is named for… Lucas. I get that Brad is an absolute jerk for his actions, and he’s a bit more of a bad guy than we first thought. But I simply couldn’t connect with Cora, and I’m truly sorry for that as Lucas is a sweetheart.

Lucas was already on the case to find the man who stole the Maclean family heirloom, what he didn’t need was Cora Maclean dropping herself right in the middle of his investigation – and placing herself in extreme danger. Stubborn woman. They had a past, they’d hurt each other and he wasn’t looking forward to rescuing her butt again but he really had no choice. What he didn’t realize was that there were mistakes on both sides of their one night together, information he didn’t have that changes things. He might have a second chance with this infuriating, sexy woman if he can keep her out of danger.

Her Forbidden Warrior is fast paced, steamy, and full of intrigue. I adored Lucas, and really didn’t like Cora… but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a good story that will keep your attention on the pages throughout.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Cora’s fiancee Brad had cheated on her then took the money from their account and had stolen a family heirloom ring from cora. Cora decides she is going to get her ring back and give Brad a piece of her mind. But her brother hires his friend Lucas to find it. Cora ends up interfering with Lucas’s investigation and doesn’t know how much danger she is putting herself into. So lucas leaves to go to Spain and protect Cora. When Lucas get to her hotel Cora is shocked as many years ago Lucas and her had a one night stand then he never called her but there had been a misunderstanding. Neither Cora or Lucas had forgotten that one night they had together. Lucas runs a global based business dealing in fraud and crisis response. Lucas is also a former Special Ops Agent. Both Cora and Lucas are determined not to let history repeat itself as they end up on a vacation together.
I enjoyed this book. I liked that Lucas ran to Spain to protect Cora. I liked Lucas and Cora together. I also ;liked the authors description of Spain. I liked the plot and pace of this book. This was a nice enjoyable read. What a jerk brad was. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

I’ve really enjoyed Her Forbidden Warrior, the second story in Lucy King’s Maclean Family Legacy duet. It works well as a stand alone or as part of the set.
The story is largely set in a rather luxurious villa in Spain and while it is nominally romantic suspense there’s not a whole lot of suspense involved as our hero Lucas sorts out the mess that Cora finds herself in after her ex-fiancé cleaned out her bank account, stole a valuable ring from her and fled the country.
Both Cora and Lucas have good reason not to trust each other yet they feel a strong physical attraction for each other. I liked the way conscience and backstory influenced the way they behaved towards each other as they became more and more involved.
This story is well written and well paced and while it was pretty much a given as to how it would end, there were enough twists to keep me guessing.

Its a real tangled affair: Cora and Lucas have a one night stand in their past not sure what caused them to part. Her ex cheats on her but then her brother marries the girl her ex-cheated on her with.. It's definitely messy especially when Lucas is hired to keep Cora safe while retrieving the family heirloom Cora's ex stole from her.

But Cora's not willing to let things alone when her ex is located in Spain. Off she goes to Spain with Lucas in hot pursuit when she confronts her ex and retrieves the heirloom ring he stole from her. Unfortunately the ex has cut a deal with some really nasty criminal elements that Lucas will have to finesse to keep Cora safe.

Oh yes in the meantime Cora is swimming and sunbathing at the pool of the luxury villa where Lucas has stashed her tempting him. I had picked this book expecting a nice romantic suspense but i found it confusing and convoluted, not a lot of romance, nor very redeemable characters, so I gave up right after Lucas's confrontation with the Russian mafia.

Second chance romance. Lucas and Cora had a one night stand in the past, and now Lucas has returned to help protect Cora. Cora has come to Spain to get the family heirloom that her ex boyfriend stole. Lucas has come to protect her from harms way. Neither want to rekindle their past, but fate may be different.

A great addition to The Maclean Family Legacy. Can be read as a stand alone. Great sexual chemistry between Cora and Lucas. I highly recommend this quick read.

After reading the first book in the MacLean Series, His Best Mistake, I did not think that I would ever want to read a book concerning the main character of Her Forbidden Warrior. However, Lucy King came through while not ever depicting Cora MacLean as an easily likable character, she did write this character so that I had a touch of sympathy for her. Also, the hero of the story is just as tough, so they made a good match.

The story flows quite nicely with some danger and a lot of hot chemistry in this second chance, older brother’s friend story. The fact that I came to care about Cora at all speaks volumes as to Ms. King’s writing ability to change a reader’s mind. Do I think Cora will ever be warm touchy feely? Well, no, but she does seem to fit Lucas Hart just fine.

This is the second book in the series and is as enjoyable as the first. Cora is Jack’s sister so there is some cross over between the books which I enjoyed as you get to know more about past and present issues. Lucas and Cora do have some history and there’s a misunderstanding between them which causes issues. There is a bit of action in the book but Lucas and Cora are the primary focus, it was lovely to see them develop as individuals and together. A lovely light read will. I will definitely look out for more from Lucy King.

Her Forbidden Warrior by Lucy King, book two in The Maclean Family Legacy series. A great addition to the series. A possible second chance at love storyline. I enjoyed the characters especially Cora and Lucas, their storyline and the dialogue between them. I look forward to seeing what is next up in this series.

With a one night stand, years ago, still haunting their memories, Cora Maclean and Lucas Hunt are brought back together in a race to retrieve a stolen family heirloom before the thief leaves the country.

When Cora interferes with Lucas’ investigation and is put in danger, he has to rush to Spain to protect her. Cora not only wanted to get back the ring from her ex that he stole when they broke up, she also had a few choice words to say to him as well. But she had no idea how dangerous situation she was in by going to see him until Lucas showed up at her hotel door. Cora and Lucas never forgot the time they hooked up, but the reason Lucas never called her afterward was a total misunderstanding. Now they have the chance to make up for lost time.

I really enjoyed this story and liked seeing Cora and Lucas get back together even though it was only supposed to be a holiday fling. The author did a good job describing the sights and sounds of Spain. I just wish the part where Lucas was protecting Cora from the bad guys would have lasted a little longer. It was pretty much over right after it started. A little more suspense could have heated the story up even more. But the romance part was good and kept me entertained. This is the second book in a series, but can be read on its own.

I dreaded writing this review. I even stalled, done some internet surfing while this tab got buried under all the other tabs open. I can't stall it any longer, urgh! My fingers are frozen on the keyboard and now I'm rambling nonsense. Needless to say, I did not enjoy reading this book.

It has a slow pacing and it dragged on most parts. We have Cora and Lucas as our first-person narrators and sometimes scenes overlap between their points of view. There is only quite a number of lines said by the characters because the general parts of the story were told in a narrative form. Scenes are described thoroughly and conversations were scarce. Maybe it's not the type of storytelling for me?

I skipped most paragraphs and looked for the characters' conversations. When I don't get what happened, that's the time I go back to a couple of paragraphs to catch up with what happened. I didn't have any connection with the characters and I couldn't care less.

I don't even have an idea on to whom I would recommend this book.

Her Forbidden Warrior by Lucy King is book two in the The Maclean Family Legacy series and it tells the romantic story of love gone wrong and how you might find it again in unlikely places. It´s a nice, pleasant and delightful read that is easy going and has a nice flow through out the story.

I found Her Forbidden Warrior to be a quick read. The hero Lucas Hart is a strong character. What's not to like about a former special forces operative. Cora Maclean is the perfect lady in distress. There is a lot of friction between the two, due to their past one night stand history. Both characters are bound and determined not to let history repeat itself, but to no avail. If this were a movie I would have to rate it R. If you like hot steamy novels with erotica, this is your book. I received a copy from Net Galley and Tule Publishers and it was not required for me to give a review.

This is the second book in the MacClean series and is just as great as the first, His Big Mistake. I love the mental dialog and Her Forbidden Warrior has telling sections of what both characters are feeling, thinking and fighting.
Cora MacClean was cheated on by her fiancé, Brad, who absconded with their savings and with her family heirloom ring. He fled to parts unknown and Cora’s brother, Malcolm hires his best friend, Lucas Hart, to find Brad and get the ring back. Lucas runs a global business dealing in fraud and crisis response. Unbeknownst to Lucas, Cora has taken it upon herself to track down Brad when she learns where he is to get the ring and get a few things off her chest. She is unaware of the danger lurking around Brad and it’s up to Lucas to rescue her before it’s too late.
Underneath all the trouble is a closed off Lucas and off relationships Cora but both of them have had a thing for each other for forever. An unplanned vacation brings them together and their feelings surface but both consider it temporary until reality strikes.
