I very much enjoyed this second book in the series - a chance to better know Cora, Jack’s sister whose fiancé had duped both her and Stella. This runs somewhat parallel to Jack and Stella’s story with Cora running to Spain to try to retrieve a valuable family heirloom stolen by her ex-fiancé. In steps Jack’s friend Lucas with a private security company to retrieve both the ring and Cora. These two have a past but we’re torn apart by what we learn were misunderstandings. For different reasons than Stella’s, Lucas also has abandonment issues and after a bad run of boyfriends Cora has issues trusting men and herself. Yet they still have an incredible spark - what begins as a fling with an end date turns into more but not without further angst!

There are times Lucas has no self control of what comes out of his mouth, “you drive me insane,” he growled, the confession bursting from him even as he tried to restrain it." Lucas juat won't have his woman be frugal, “don’t bother ordering the cheapest thing on the menu,” Lucas practically growled. “If you don’t go for the lobster I’ll simply order it for you.” I loved this book, I loved Lucas he was so broody.

The second in a series. This is the story of Cora and Lucas. I liked the story and characters, as it is a continuation of the first book showing what happened after Cora's cheating ex fled to Spain. You should read the first book in order, as it explains a lot of the emotions and situations that revolve around the story here. I liked the book, and highly recommend it, although it did echo a bit the same format as the first book. Sometimes more variety helps to enhance a series. Otherwise, I enjoyed it, and it kept my interest throughout.

Loved this book! Cora is a woman who was treated badly by her ex-boyfriend - including his stealing from her, cheating on her, then fleeing the country. Lucas is a family friend that steps in to help, then one thing leads to another and before long Cora and Lucas are having a limited time fling in an exotic location. Once the time for the fling ends, they are both in denial about their feelings.

While the story is somewhat predictable, it is so well told that I didn't care and just enjoyed the journey. The author made me care about the characters and feel invested in their story. Fans of the genre will enjoy this novel and want to put it at the top of their TBR list. While it's the first book I've read by this author, it won't be the last as I've added her to my must read authors' list.
