I enjoyed reading this short novel. The story takes place during the 1960s in Texas. Johnny Chambers is sent to prison for a crime he did not commit. While there he meets two other men who after near death experiences now have an artistic talent. Johnny decides they are reincarnated as Van Gogh and Mozart. When he has his own near death experience he becomes Hemingway. All is not right in the prison. Johnny sets out to make it public, help David and Vinny with their art, and get himself out of jail and back to his wife Kitty. Everything unfolds during the week of the Kennedy Assassination. I liked the characters. The story moved along quickly and kept my interest. Enjoy this unusual story.

Three Souls, a book by Bill Thomas, is one with an interesting concept. The book revolves around the idea that three people: Johnny Chambers, David Madejas, and Vinny LePugh all had near-death experiences and afterwards, exhibited extraordinary talents in the arts. Danny appears to the be the reincarnation of Mozart, Vinny of VanGogh, and Johnny of Hemingway.

A cozy mystery with a cast of fun/crazy characters that will keep the reader laughing and reading!

This book felt as if it was a magical realism novel that leans heavily on the realism side. I loved the story but there were some moments in it that i fell could have been developed further. The points that the novel that needed development were when the book goes into its "magical" stage and the fact that the visuals change post vision.

this was a little hard to get into but it was a good storyline. The only thing I had trouble with was for being prisoners and criminals they spoke really good English, almost too good. and I had trouble with how easy every one accepted their change in appearance. but overall it was a good story

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book, but unfortunately, it wasn't for me. I thought the concept was interesting (great artists whose lives were cut short being reincarnated into prisoners who have had near death experiences), but the writing really wasn't there for me. I thought the dialogue did most of the lifting rather than the prose, and even with the fantastical setup, there were just too many plot holes to work for me.
