This had a great message of acceptance. "Love is the same. Wherever you live. Whoever you are. And whomever you love. Love is Love" I feel like there should be more books like this that show there is nothing wrong with having 2 dads or 2 moms or a mom and dad. Family is family and love is love. It is a great way to show children acceptance and understanding.
I received an ARC of this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fantastic book and many can learn from this read. Either children or adults can benefit from this story. As a woman in a diverse family where my children have two dads and two moms, I think books like this are important for us to learn that 'Love is Love'.

This is a simple picture book for children about a boy who has two dads and gets made fun of for a wearing a t-shirt that has a rainbow heart and the words love is love. The little boy talks about how he doesn't like hearing that gay is bad and he talks about all the wonderful people who he knows who are gay. The book is positive and includes parts for parents and educators at the end.

This was an interesting book with a simple message, love is love. A little boy (?) is teased in school for the tee-shirt he is wearing because it has a rainbow heart graphic. He doesn’t understand why his tee shirt is a bad thing, because love is love, and it doesn’t matter who you love as long as it makes you happy. The message in this book is perfect. The illustrations are nice, and each page is a different person around the world wearing the shirt the child was teased about. A great add for any collection.

Lovely illustrations and an easy to understand message for children.

This book teaches tolerance and understanding and underscores the idea of common humanity. The author does a great job of showing children that parents' gender is irrelevant when it comes to love.

I didn't really love this book as much as I was hoping, it's an important topic and I'm glad books like this exist but I feel like other books have done a better job with this subject, the writing style for me just didn't flow well for a kids story.

This book is an outstanding tool for helping young children understand that being gay, having gay parents, having gay family members, or having gay friends is nothing to be ashamed of. Beautifully written and illustrated, the message "Love is Love" is celebrated throughout. The book provides summary messages for children, parents, educators, and other adults, as well as excellent discussion questions. I highly recommend this book!

Well. I'm not sure what to make off this. The story is nice and one that kids can do with hearing, and the illustrations are nice. I'm assuming they'll line up properly in the print version, I know Kindle can be strange about that. I liked the kites that make their way through the story, multiplying as they go.

However, the story is just 19% of the book. The rest is taken up with resources, discussion guides, and an author's note that starts at 67%. Yes, the author's note is a third again as long as the actual story.

Two stars for the story, but the presentation needs a little work.

Receiving an ARC did not affect my opinion in any way.

Love Is Love by Michael Genhart is a beautiful story of one child's walk through understanding love and all it means regardless of what your family looks like or who your parents are. A young boy is made fun of for his pride-filled shirt. I think this book would be a great book to have on shelves as conversation starters and as a window, mirror and sliding door book. It will help children see themselves or better understand those around them. It would be an excellent booker classrooms and counselors.
