I loved Jason from the first book in the series- FIRED and his story didn't disappoint.

Jason and Audrey are thrown together to be co-project managers on a huge courthouse build. They share a sizzling and secretive past which rears it's hot head when the two start spending entire days together.

Audrey is from an affluent family that has a public persona that doesn't quite match the neglectful, hateful family. Audrey is strong and independent and when you see how her parents are with her you will be even more impressed by the strong, successful woman.

Jason has his own heartbreak when it comes to family. His father was a nasty man who ends up in a most vulnerable position later in life to which Jason is bound.

Jason and Audrey are great together- hot! The story doesn't just linger on their sexual chemistry or their unfortunate family- parental relations. Audrey has an awesome brother and 2 sweetheart nephews. Laying everything aside in a time of tragedy is seemingly difficult during a huge point inthe building process but family is always first. I loved how tragedy brought healing.

Love this story!

You know that a book is enjoyable when a reader gets a free copy and, upon finishing it, goes online to pay money to buy the first book in the series and others by the author. That was my reaction to Cora Brent’s “Nailed.” It’s part of a series about romance on the job. The heroine is a smart, tough, hard-working project manager in a construction company. She ends having to work with a hot, charming, and hard-working project manager with whom she had had a sizzling love affair several years ago.
So it’s a lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers book. The dialogue is fun and both the hero and heroine are appealing characters. There is more to them than what we see on the surface. They have personal histories that have affected who they are today but they have both had to work to overcome the problems from their youth. This makes them fully-rounded characters.
I really enjoyed their romance and seeing them work to find their own HEA.
I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I received a complimentary arc from Netgallery for review.

I read the first book in the series and really loved it. This book was good but not as good as the first book. It stars Jason Roma, who is loosely connected to the first book as he is Dom's best friend. In this story he is paired with Audrey who hates him.

Why? well because several years ago they had a fling and then went their separate ways after Jason almost got her fired for sex at work. She thinks he is only at the job because he is friendly with the company owner and is pretty useless otherwise.

Jason on the other hand remembers the sex as HOT! and he wants more. When they are paired on a project he is excited to work together as he really respects Audrey's work ethic. He is in a different place now than years before and he wants more with Audrey and now he has to convince her they can really work.

I really enjoyed this story,. But it took a while to really build the story. I did like book 1 better but I still enjoyed this story, it was just very different.

Nailed is an amazing love/hate office romance. Audrey and Jason have a past and work together. Not only do they fight their attraction and bicker a bit they burn the sheets once they give in. I love how Audrey and Jason come together finally. Both have past that have made them more closed off to love. It's amazing to see how much they grow together and watch Audrey heal and mend fences with her family. You get a little bit of Dom and Melanie from Fired in this one too. Jason is so not what I expected. He made me swoon hard many times over. This is such a fantastic read. Cora Brent has an amazing series on her hands filled with her swoon worthy men.

Another amazing and solid read by Cora Brent. A great enemies too lovers story. Loved the banter between Jason and Audrey, as well as their off the charts chemistry. This story has depth and a great storyline and you won’t want to put it down.

Jason could be so good on a woman's ego, “I’ve known you for six years and I think you’re one of the hardest-working, most reliable people I’ve ever met. I also think that anyone who feels differently ought to have their effing head examined.” I really liked Jason, the man was charming, “It does feel good to be liked,” he said with a touch of wryness. Then his voice changed, deepened. “And Audrey, you already know I’m over the effing moon about you.” I liked this book, I loved Jason.

Nailed is the second charming book in the Worked Up series written by the author of The Gentry Boys series, Cora Brent. I hope William will be in the next book. Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for the advance copy.

Audrey and Jason have a love/hate relationship. They had a brief co-worker fling that ended in not the best way. Audrey had a ton of issues, not the least of which was her OCD tendencies when it came to work. Audrey wasn't always put together like she is now. She was an unruly teen who drank too much, slept around too much and paid the price by embarrassing her family to the point that they still hold it against her 10 years later. Audrey didn't quite understand that, even though she was now a responsible adult, she did some damage and needed to acknowledge all of it. Her and her parents did not appear to have a great relationship and Audrey needed to own some of that. Although she was a smart, competent woman in a male dominated field, she did tend to over-compensate. I did not like how she stereo-typed Jason at points in this book.

Jason was dealing with his own family issues and was trying his best to get over his own past with his father. Jason showed great compassion and the ability to forgive. Audrey sold him short a lot and Jason didn't really stand up for himself for the majority of their relationship. Things seemed to change for him and he started to own his feelings and what he wanted. Audrey seemed to be the one pushing him away. Jason did open up to her and allowed her to know some of his secrets. He was also a man of his word.

There were points in this book where I just wanted to smack some sense into Audrey. Work is not what your life should be centered on. She had relationships that needed to be nurtured but would find an excuse not to do it. It did make me crazy when she would lament to herself that "if he turns around now I'll go home with him..." She should have just owned her feelings instead of copping out.

There was an interesting twist that did make things clear for Audrey. I liked how Cora Brent pulled the reader into this story. It flowed well, kept me entertained and did cause a mix of feelings to be pulled from me at points. Overall a good read. I was glad to have received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

After the first book (Fired) I immediately clicked for this one.

Audrey and Jason are colleagues and had a short, hot affair six years ago when Jason just started out at the firm. Now they are both project managers and Audrey regards Jason as her competitor for the most coveted project, the building of the new court house. She is not happy when she finds they have to work as equal partners.

I actually did not really like Audrey at first. She is hardworking and seems like a cold career woman. She keeps pushing Jason away. As with the first book this one is also about family, plus the need for parental approval and how to find a balance in life and work. Jason also has his demons from the past but he has mostly moved past that and tries to convince Audrey to change her priorities. Unfortunately a tragic event is needed for her and some others to finally see things differently.

I like the writing style of this author and really enjoyed this book.

Nailed is a fun and entertaining enemies to lovers, workplace romance. The characters intrigued me and kept me on my toes. I loved the tension and chemistry between Jason and Audrey. Their banter kept me glued to the pages and begging for more. I loved the slow burn between them and couldn't wait to see what would happen next.

Nailed was an enjoyable and well written read. This is my first book by this author and I look forward to checking out more from her in the future.
