The New York Times nailed the description of Henry Alford's wonderfully descriptive book in their review this past Sunday. It is a great read, witty and warm for dancers and non-dancers, alike. It's just a wonderful book, beautifully written and so very interesting. Thank you to Henry Alford for writing it, and to Netgalley and Simon and Shuster for publishing it. A great tribute to a great art form!!!

FYI ! I loved this book so much that I am rereading it. I teach a dance history class and the anecdotes in this book are to die for, to share with my students. Who knew Isadora Duncan, the mother of modern dance, was nicknamed Isadorable Drunken. I’m still laughing! And Michael Fokine’s description of Modern Dance? Well. He should only see Ohad Naharin ‘s work! Thank you, Henry Alford this book and your experiences with dance are a delight to read. Thank you Simon and Shuster and Mr. Alford and NetGalley once again!
