I love Brianna Labuskes!
It Ends with Her is a great story.
It touches on child abuse, assault and obsession.
It’s twisted and keeps you turning page after page.
If you haven’t read this author yet you are truly missing out.

This one fell short for me. I liked how the characters were introduced, as well as the case, but ultimately the story felt like a sequel that had to fill in the reader on what happened before the case. Some of the background was done nicely, but it was a lot of information to take in from the start. The case and the detectives seemed interesting enough but there was just too much telling and not enough showing for me to really get into the story.

This was SO enjoyable read (and I do not care if it says something scary about my psyche :))! It has everything I like in my mysteries - a compelling case, a complicated hero/heroine, a motive. The building-up of atmosphere is very well done and even if you think you know how it would end, you are not right. The authoress covers multitude of issues here, other than the main motive for killings - there is a deep line of who your family really is. I like that there is a healing offered from very deep wounds, an understanding and maybe a story of forgiveness (and you yourself iare often the hardest person to forgive).

The novel can touch some trigger points, but the authoress not goes there heavy-handedly.

I very much liked the brokenness of the heroine, especially, because I find it being quite realistic and human. Who else would be that effective in murderer hunting than the person who has seen evil in her life?

There are still some questions unanswered at the end (like what has really happened in the Cross household and M.' s fate). So maybe this could be a start of the series? And could finally a nice heterosexual man enter the game?

I would like to read more about Clarke. And I definitely will read more from Ms Labuskes, she really has talent and skills to offer both a compelling read and a deeper look into the soul!

If it involves an FBI Agent and serial killer, I am intrigued. I love a great crime/psychological thriller. This took some getting in to, but overall a great read. I will be looking for more from Brianna Labuskes.

This was an extraordinary book that took great care into creating the world seen through the eyes of the detective. A complete thriller from beginning to end. The characters were so clearly defined that I found myself relating a little bit to each of them. It is definitely an edge-of-your-seat, nail biting psychological thriller that will have any book lover staying up until the early hours just to finish the book! Excellent writing!

WOW. I didn't see that coming. Great twist ending. The leadup was a bit slow and so-so for me. This story is told with 3 POV Clarke, Adelaide, and Bess. The main character Clarke was very likeable and I enjoy getting to know the character. Bess' chapters were a thrill ride, very exciting. The plot between the killer and FBI was a bit overcomplicated for my taste but I understand the purpose.

The story itself was twisted and clever. It as quite thrilling and I was happy to give it 3.5 stars.

I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas & Mercer!

He may have started the game... But she is going to end it... FBI special agent Clarke Sinclair doesn't give up that easily.. She has spent years tracking down serial killers like Simon Cross, who has forced her to follow his sick and twisted clues and photographs across the country.
Clarke knows that he only selects redheaded woman as his target, and he doesn't target another victim until Clarke discovers the previous one.. He never breaks his pattern, that is until now... A girl is missing in upstate New York when a second one is kidnapped-a blonde girl this time..
The closer she feels that she gets to the truth, The killer changes his MO sending Clarke back to the drawing board. The closer she feels that she is getting to the truth the further she is sucked deeper into a trap made just for her..

I must admit, when I started reading this book, I didn't feel that interested. But, the more I read, the more into it I got.. It shows us how Simon Cross became the killer he is today, he blames it on his foster homes, I can see that being an excuse. But, then again I don't see it like that, you cant blame others for your actions.

I didn't see that ending coming I can tell you that.. Thank you Netgalley and publisher for allowing me to read and review this book.. Sorry it took so long.

I liked the two story lines throughout. The characters were good ones and written well. I didn't love the ending and wish the serial killer part had to been more vivid.

I enjoyed this book. Overall, I really liked the writing style, the suspense, and the characters. It made me want to go back and see if she had written any other books to give a try. There was no mystery here, but I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next. I'm not normally as drawn to FBI thrillers, but this was a good one!

**Starts out a bit long winded and hard to get into, but if you stick with it it gets a little more fast paced as it goes. The characters aren't easy to relate to or get invested in but the plot is decent and worth a try :)

It Ends With Her is a VERY good story, I gave it 4 instead of 5 only because I guessed who It was about halfway through, but I read suspense all the time. Ok so this book is very thrilling, suspenseful, and super hard to put down. This hook will keep you placed in your seat and if that’s what you like with a bit of scary in it, then this is for you!! Loved this....enjoy! :)

To me this was an average physiological thriller.
I felt it was a bit predictable at points.. and didn't felt a cliffhanger moment.
I'm not so sure if it is me.. but I'm finding trouble relating to obsession.
The characters at moments where a bit off in my opinion.
But overall is still with reading!
I love discovering new authors.

It Ends with Her is a psychological thriller that takes you on multiple twists and turns. You don't have to guess at who the suspect is because you get to see his point of view. You also get to know Clarke the FBI agent's point of view. The characters are established over time and plot twist are great. The ending was predictable but still fun to read. Overall I did enjoy the book it just wasn't my favorite thriller.

I loved this cat-and-mouse play between an FBI agent and a serial killer. 4.5 stars!

Even though quite a bit happens in this book it was a little slow paced for me, with a lot of internal dialogue and a bit too much fluff between plot points. But it only bothered me enough to take off half a star!

I find books about serial killers intriguing and I love the way this author handled it. I'm super curious to read more books by her, especially thrillers, because she's quite good with plot. The writing style wasn't super special, but I thought the author really got it right. The feel of the book is atmospheric, and it creeped me out on numberous occasions.

I very much enjoyed the twists and turns. I was left shocked at the end and surprised I hadn't figured it all out a lot sooner.

I do wish the book had undergone another editing round. I just think there were a few issues that could have been worked out more. I wanted to see them talked about in more detail. The unraveling felt a tiny bit anti-climactic for me and I wanted more from the ending. But I do nonetheless appreciate it!

Would recommend for: This book really reminded me of The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchens. If you enjoy reading thrillers with high tension, I think you would enjoy this read, but even if you don't, give it a try! It's totally worth it.

3.5 stars.
In its element, It ends with her is a police procedural told from the perspective of the agents trying to catch a killer, using a third person perspective to show the agents - warts and all.
The book was told in both the past and present, which reads well to give backstory and provide motive for Simon’s personality. Throughout the book, it felt like further development of the tension between Clarke and Simon would have made this a slightly more compelling read and driven the story with more urgency. Some of Clarke’s actions didn’t seem to fit her professional position and she was inherently selfish in her pursuit, which prevented her from thinking through her actions rationally and therefore doing her job with more professionalism. Overall, a good read.

I kept hearing about his book so I was excited to get a chance to read it. Cleverly written with interesting twists and turns throughout the story.

It Ends With Her is about obsession. The obsession of FBI Agent Clarke Sinclair with serial killer Simon Cross and his obsession with her.
Clarke works with her partner, Sam, who drags her back into the game after another murder occurs. Together the two of them are on the hunt for Simon Cross, who always seems to be two steps ahead of them until one day he changes up the game.
It Ends With Her took me a little while to get into. The plot is slow revealing, which I didn't mind and I liked the fact that we didn't know why Clarke and Simon were obsessed with one another until the end, but sometimes the characters got to me. They weren't what I was expecting and often times unappealing to me. Despite that, once the plot picked up the momentum, I was able to get into the book and enjoyed it with all it's twists.
The author's writing is solid and well crafted and as long as you don't mind the plot being slow in the beginning, the rest of the story picks up and is highly enjoyable.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for providing an ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review. It Ends With Her is a typical cat-and-mouse game story between an FBI agent, Clarke Sinclair, and a serial killer, Simon Cross. Simon is leaving scavenger hunt type clues for Clarke and her partner, Sam. Then Simon changes his pattern by leaving a different set of clues, and this time, it becomes personal for Clarke.

I found the book to be mostly enjoyable. Clarke's inner monologues were a bit lengthy and distracting at times, but by the end of the book, I was able to overlook it because the plot was picking up. The ending was not too surprising, but the ride was still enjoyable.

As a note, an e-galley of this novel was sent to me via NetGalley by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not effect my opinions in any way.

I really enjoyed this book for many reasons. While it wasn't my favourite release of the year and it had its share of flaws, It Ends with Her was quite the ride and not at all what I was expecting. I've been recently expanded my shelves when it comes to thrillers/mysteries and one thing I've been aching for is more stories that center around F.B.I. agents and cases that consume them. Maybe it is because of the way my mind works--if I were in their shoes, trying to solve a case, it would haunt me until I finish.

I always look for characters that are as such. They are the ones that appeal to me most. All the complexities. The determination. The resourcefulness--they have to have these traits in order for me to read them for one reason or another. While I had my reservations when it came to Labuskes' book, I found myself feeling quite differently about it than I thought I might. So, of course, this was a pleasant surprise.

The main-main character, Clarke, is the type of character I appreciate in the genre. I say main-main character like that's a logical description--It Ends with Her actually features multiple POV and one of them is the serial killer, Simon, but I definitely consider Clarke to be the main character of the two big ones.

The narration is also split timeline wise and I appreciate how it ties everything together. Another thing I enjoyed of the book was the fact that the mystery was so prominent but there were other things sprinkled into the plot. The mystery takes the main stage, but there's still a good portion of background stories going on.

We all love a good cat and mouse game and this one is utterly... consuming. Clarke is consumed by the case, and the reader is consumed by everything. I loved, loved, loved the pacing for the most part. While it felt predictable at times and the ending wasn't altogether shocking, while still being kind of shocking, I really had fun reading it. Briana Labuskes has a prose that is so tantalizing, she makes even the lackluster moments stand out for brief moments in time.

(And I can't wait to read more from her in the future.)

Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot and would recommend it to anyone who's new to the thriller genre.
