There have been a few occasions in which I've noticed that Rachel's writing changes depending on the book or story, subsequently making those titles more difficult to get into, This was the case with Dirty Exes, where within the first few pages of the story the writing felt a bit more shallow and immature as well as the character voice sounding off, and I really struggled to get more than a handful of pages in. I tried again about a month ago and am feeling the same way so unfortunately this is simply a book I won't be able to get into or finish.

Was given an ARC for honest review.

I am a big fan of Rachel Van Dyken and I have to say that I was not disappointed reading Dirty Exes. From the beginning to end I was captivated by the characters of Blaire, Isla, Colin and Jessie. Blaire is the sister of Ian, we all know and love Ian from Matchmaker's playbook, well his sister Blaire also has her own business when it comes to working with couples, the only difference is she is catching cheaters and exposing them online for all to see with the help of her friend Isla.

Blaire is a bit bitter and lonely seeing how she was done dirty by one of her exes, since then she has dedicated her time to finding cheaters, exposing them, and helping her clients get the closure that they need. All changes when a new client hires Blaire and Isla to bring down her husband, turns out the husband is a former boyfriend of Blaire who she was madly in love with but who hurt her when he didn't fight for their love.

Jessie is surprise when he runs into Blaire, he is now kicking himself for not giving them a chance to build a future together. Jessie has not had it easy since he ended things with Blaire and the only person that he can count on is his best friend Colin.

Colin, Colin...I am a big fan of Colin, Rachel did right by this character, we all need a Colin in our life. I did not see Colin coming, I thought this was going to be a book about second chances and that Blaire and Jessie would reunite and get back together. I was very wrong because that is when Colin appeared and ruined all men for Blaire.

This book was funny, it was exciting, and the scenes with Blaire and Colin we hot. There are lots of secrets exposed throughout this book and things that make you feel sad for some of these characters.

One thing I didn't like was Blaire self deprecating ways, she really honed in on her past too much in the beginning, though Colin helped her get over it, I for one could have done without a lot of the self doubt.

I really enjoyed Dirty Exes, I can't wait to see what else will be in store for these characters.

Dirty Exes grabs you right from the beginning with the interestingly unique introduction of how Blaire and Isla met. They are a great duo and then you meet Jessie, his introduction is the beginning of this love story. Rachel Van Dyken delivers a witty story with interestingly awkward, can happen to anyone, moments that make us laugh, cringe, want to shed a few tears and then laugh again. This is another great read by RVD!

Great story and characters, a love triangle that doesn't entirely piss me off, and a believable happy ever after. I can't wait to read the sequel.

You have one broken hearted woman, Blaire, working as a PI to help catch cheaters, and two very handsome sexy men, both very different. Blaire owns a PI business with her best friend. They started the company after they were both cheated on. One day she runs into her ex boyfriend, ex- NFL star Jessie Beckett, the one who she compares every other guy to. He was he first love and she still always wonders what if. Then you have Jessie’s best friend Colin. Blaire accidentally runs into and meets Colin while spying on Jessie. Colin is a sexy bad boy who happens to be very wealthy. He also seems to get under Blaire skin. I liked watching the story unfold. For a good portion of the story I did not know which guy Blaire would end up with but I knew which one I wanted her to. Then I was trying to figure out if Jessie really was a cheater after some situations he got himself into. and his actions were definitely questionable. Colin just wanted Blaire to agree to go out with him. The storyline had me wondering, laughing and smiling, and even getting a bit mad. There were so many scenes in the book that I absolutely adored. This is a book I will definitely be going back and reading again. I was sad to see it end, but loved the way it ended.

Dirty Exes is the first book in the Liars, Inc. series which is actually a spinoff from The Matchmaker's Playbook. This is Blaire’s story (Ian's sister). I have not read The Matchmaker’s Playbook and had no issues following the story. With that being said….

I loved this book! It was funny and sexy with a side of drama! The prologue was hilarious! Blaire and Isla have been hurt by their cheating exes. They turn lemons into lemonade by starting Dirty Exes, a PI firm that goes after cheaters. They gather evidence and often times post it to Facebook live, humiliating the cheater.

Although they are successful, they have anger and trust issues because they were cheated on.

"I was so focused on retribution, on not focusing on the past, that I was barely staying sane."

Things get interesting when they are hired by Veronica Beckett. She is married to ex-NFL player Jessie Beckett, Blaire’s first love. Jessie broke Blaire’s heart when he was traded by the NFL. He never asked her to come along. Brokenhearted, Blaire married a “safe” guy, who cheated on her. Blaire insists she can be professional and handle the situation with Jessie as a client. Jessie’s best friend, Colin, is an added piece of the puzzle, and nothing is what it seems! Is he friend or foe?

Rachel Van Dyken takes us on a wild ride! Husband’s, best friends, wives….cheater or not? The story takes a few turns that I did not expect. Perception versus reality. Fake versus real. Some really funny situations and some hot sexy time as well! There is also lots of banter between all of the characters. I was very surprised by the outcome.

“Let me make it up to you.”
“Sex won’t make this better.”
“Sex always makes things better, especially angry sex where I let you slap me.” He grinned.
"It was hard not to smile."

Next up…. Isla. Will Blaire’s tough-as-nails partner be able to move forward…..
4.5 stars

This was a great book for a weekend.
So Blaire loses a great love in her life and the guy she thought was a safe person to follow ends up being a lousy cheating replacement and breaks her heart.
With some help from her BFF she founds a company to find cheaters and expose them. She ends up investigating Jesse, the great love that she lost before the cheating scum.
Blaire is very indecisive but ends up making a good choice. It was a very funny book and a great romance,

I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Another great story from Rachel Van Dyken! As always it was an epic read and can't wait to see what she comes up with next! I definitely recommend this book!

Oh this book, so hysterical. The antics that Blaire and her new BFF are just down right outrageous, from crawling in sewers to trying to expose her ex-love. This book is filled with little things that made me laugh out loud. It also has some things that make you a bit sad, like cheating jerks, but they are caught! I really enjoy when RVD writes Rom-Com, cannot wait for the next one. 5 STARS!!!

I think everyone knows by now that any book RVD writes, I am reading it. I am in completely - no blurb needed, it's an ALL- IN deal for me. And she did not let me down with Dirty Exes.

I enjoy Rachel's humorous and light side more than I realized. I have a high bar set for comedy in romance because if not done correctly, it can feel over the top and ruin a great book. But Rachel blends her humor in really well with this book giving if the needy light side so things don't get too serious and annoying.

Dirty Exes is the first book in Liars, Inc and starts everything of well. Blaire is one of the two women who started their PI firm. They only work with top clientele looking to see if their SO is cheating. And let me tell you, no job is too dirty or too risky for these women.

After their last successful "catch" it's Blaire's turn to be the bait and try to catch the perp in the act. Until said perp is the one man she just can't find herself getting over. She tires to now allow herself to get too personal with this one but when you have a history with someone, it's hard not to let personal feelings get in the way.

I have to say that in the long run, I did enjoy this book a lot. I loved the characters and how they each held a perfect blend to the story. I loved that things panned out how I thought (wasn't upset I guessed early because the story was perfect) and I loved getting to know each of the characters.

My only small gripe is the timeframe that Blaire and Jessie were together previously - 3 weeks. Three weeks isn't enough to really be pining after the dude years later, but whatever - maybe the connection was that strong. But RVD does a great job of explaining things and working it all out in that end, so that kept things from being truly hard to grasp.

Another amazing story from RVD. I am really looking forward to the next book in this series.

Rachel Van Dyken is one of my go-to authors, one who I often don't even have to read the blurb to tell I'll want to read the book - sometimes I get that just from the title. So it was with Dirty Exes. There was just something about that title that drew me in. And so did the story. I loved getting caught up in the worlds of Blaire, Jessie and Colin, and I often felt myself holding my breath right along with Blaire as she tried to discover if Jessie was the cheat his soon-to-be-ex claimed he was or not. I must admit that I kept hoping it was not because I really liked him - so much I wanted him to get the girl in the end. But then, I liked Colin, too, so... you get the picture. So now you need to get the book because it was a really fun read and I can't wait for the next one!

I really really really loved this one. Rachel has the ability to make me love characters so much! I fell in love Collin from the first word and the hate I had for Jason was intense...though maybe that is personal lol Anyway, Rachel can do no wrong. You are always in for a good time with her books!

OMG!! Rachel Van Dyken keeps getting better and better. Couldn't put this book down. Loved that there was a little connection to the Matchmakers Series as well. Blaire and Collin are my fav couple so far. Such a fun read. Can't wait to read more.

If you're looking for a fun, cute book then this is the one you want. I can't wait to see what else will happen in this series, though I have some very strong suspicions about that.

Dirty Exes follows Blaire, Ian's sister from The Matchmaker's Playbook, as she makes it her life goal to expose the cheaters out there. Her PI firm dedicates itself to only one type of case, cheaters, and she'll do just about anything to catch them in the act.

I absolutely adored this book. It had me cracking up at some of the situations Blaire found herself in and I just loved how fun it was. The book never lost that lightness it had and it kept a smile on my face the entire time I was reading.

Rachel Van Dyken is a new-to-me author.

Blaire is a scorned woman who took matters into her own hands by opening up an investigation firm to catch cheaters with her new BFF, who also happens to be a scorned lady.

With an interesting, catchy opener, I was hooked from the start. It was light yet emotional, raw and real with the ability to laugh at one's self.

With two hurt women starring in the novel, it was a pleasure to see how the author showed it wasn't only the men who cheat or harm their significant other – I appreciated the equality of it, by not assuming only men cheat.

A large portion of society has been in Blaire's position, so it's easy for the reader to connect with her. She's not quick to trust, with good reason.

To paint a whole picture, the suspected cheater and his best friend are given points-of-view, which ramps up the angst and giddy anticipation.

Dirty Exes was surprisingly not predicable. I can overlook just about anything if the author surprises me, not that there was anything to overlook in this case, but I was surprised in the direction the romance went, when it looked as if it would go another direction.

The romance was scorching hot, slow-burn, tension filled, as Blaire learned to trust and let go of the past, to let go of perceived roles she places people in. The good guy no one can live up to. The player who cannot commit. The safe guy who destroyed her sense of self, to the point she couldn't trust anyone when the safe guy hurt her.

This was Blaire's journey to grow up and move on, but also Jessie and Colin's journey to do the same.

Dirty Exes pulled me from a funky mood, entertaining me on every page, thoroughly enjoying a genre I don't normally read. I look forward to reading more by this author, especially more in this series, using it to put a smile on my face and hope in my heart.

One con: the baby thing was never explained. Still have no idea what happened there. It was talked around, too much left up to reader interpretation. It sounded like it predated Blaire catching them cheating.

Rachel Van Dyken is one of my all-time favorite authors and I’m so excited to be starting a new series by her. This book is incredible, I couldn’t put it down.

Blaire and Isla are both woman who were scorned and they’ve now made it their business to bust cheaters. Blaire’s next job is a blast from the past, the man she never got over, Jessie Beckett. Jessie is in a marriage that he thinks he wants out of, but so that he doesn’t ruin his wife’s career of writing about their perfect marriage, he hasn’t filed. Now, he’s texting Blaire and Blaire is waffling between having romantic feelings and getting the job done. When Jessie’s best friend, Colin, steps in and offers to help Blaire weasel into Jessie’s life, Blaire jumps at the chance… and winds up with feelings towards both men.

The back-and-forth between Blaire and Colin is hilarious, they’re interactions had me laughing out loud. I’m also going to say the same for Blaire and Isla, those two are an absolute hoot. This book was just fantastic in every aspect; humor, romance, and intrigue. I’m already so excited for the next book!

Wow, just wow...I don't even know what to say. I absolutely loved this book. Blaire was left by a football player for his dreams without a second though, so she settled for what she figured what safe. But what happens when he cheated on her...now her life is turned upside down. She meets Isla who also was cheated on, and together they form a PI company called Dirty Exes.

This book has a little bit of everything. But yet we have two guys, Jessie, her football player ex, and his best friend Colin. We get a love triangle here. Colin meets Blaire while she is working as a PI staking out Jessie of all people. Blaire compared everyone to Jessie as he was the one that got away. Colin works his way in with his humor and charm. She has to decide if she wants the one that got away or the one which she has smoking hot chemistry with. And I love watching it play out. I will say though, I feel bad for Colin at times...he is overall such a sweet guy.

This book is one you will sit down with and then continue to read and get nothing else done until it is completed. It is a fun read and you will laugh out loud at parts. A sewer may come up in the book at one point, and that may have tears coming out of your eyes. I don't know how this author does it but she never ceases to amaze me with her books, and this one is no different.

Isla and Blaire are a great team and so much fun together. And Jessie and Colin add some great drama and even that great friendship, that overall you will be satisfied with this book. It is actually told in 3 different perspectives, Jessie, Blaire and Colin, which is also a different dynamic and I really dig it and it let us see things from that outside perspective at times.
