Older the better is a romance between two males

Charles was 19 when he met and fell in love with his best friends day who was in his 30’s, Malcolm. They started an affair but shortly after Malcolm ended it and Charles moved away.
Years later Charles arrives back to his hometown hoping to be with the only man he has ever loved.

I thought this was a quick cute read, it obviously isn’t the best romance but I could feel the chemistry between Charles and Malcom.

DNF 45%

*an ARC of this title was kindly given by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review*

This is first time I have ever DNFed an ARC I so kindly received. No matter how "bad" I felt a book was, I always made a point to finish it because it was an ARC and maybe a review would help others deciding whether or not to read it. But, that being said...I just could not continue on with this one.
There was no romance, love, or like-able characters at all(and that includes the two MC's). This made me sad on so many levels because I always gravitate towards books with MC's that are older.
The "love" ( I use that word loosely) scenes were awful and brutal to read. A little more research on the subject maybe would have helped with that. But all in all, this book didn't hold much love and/or respect between the MC's for me to care what happened to or with them. Total miss.

Older the Better is an age gap romance that isn't likable, romantic or loving.

Charles was a 19 year old guy who fell in love with his friend's father, who happened to be 39. They had a few months of bliss then Malcolm dumped Charles and Charles moved away shortly after. Now, years later, Charles is going back with Todd so Todd can connect with his father. Charles doesn't want to see the man who dumped him without an explanation, but he does want answers. Since Charles moved away from Malcolm, his life has been filled with meaningless encounters and a sugar daddy situation with a much older, wealthier man, Andrei, who is in love with him even though Charles does not reciprocate Andrei's feelings.

When Charles and Todd arrive at Malcolm's home, it's as if Charles never left, as far as his feelings are concerned. But, Malcolm is cold and determined to ignore the younger man. What follows is a graceless reunion where Charles has to force his way back into Malcolm's bed and his life, without thought of what the local townspeople and Charles' own father will say. I found myself cringing throughout this book. Neither Charles or Malcolm is particularly likable, and their chemistry isn't as strong as I had been hoping for. Because I didn't like either of the two leads, I couldn't bring myself to care about their story. I had been hoping for a really steamy, well-rounded, fleshed-out romance, but what I got was a boring, cringeworthy tale with two unlikable leads. 2 stars for this one unfortunately.

Older the Better,3,5 stars

I liked the storyline, but I could not warm up to either Mc`s.
Charles is not very loveable or likeable to begin with.
And Malcolm allto a sweet men.is a bit off an coward.
They have a past, what comes to life as soon as Charles returns
to his hometown with Malcom`s son and charles best friend.
there is a past, history, that can be helpfull to understand Charles.
Soon as Charles returns home, both man surrender to each other.
in the premiss a nice love story.
But for me it lacked, off heat, steam and downright fun.
The feelings off the son,are swiftly dealed with.
Not very believable, the townspeople and their behavior.
are not resolved. For me it felt like a skinny hea.
The story took a bitt too long to start and in the end.it was too fast paced.
but a fine read,just don`t expect a memorable story
