I enjoyed this collection of short stories set in the USA. I am British and live in the UK. However, having visited the US a lot over the past 20 years, I found the tales evocative and interesting - and it is the variety of subject matter that makes this collection engaging.

These stories are not just about the everyday. 'All the Lonely People' is a sad story which lingers long after it's been read; 'Now It Can Be Told' is very relevant to our modern age of conflict and distress, particularly linked to the Middle East. All in all, I enjoyed these stories and hope future readers will, too.

A collection of short stories is the basis for this book. Some of the entries were good, some were not. I cannot say this book had me scrambling to finish it, but it was an ok read,. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book in return for my honest review.

A great collection of short stories that are great when you only have a moment or two to sit down and read. Well written with just enough satire and plenty of wit, there's plenty to love in this book.

"All the Lonely People" is the best story in this collection. The rest I found not to my personal taste.

Short stories seem to be a real writing challenge - to deliver the characters, actina and ( hopefully) resolution in a small space. This author does really well with character development, however sad some of these folks are, but the action is much more muted.
The beauty is in the turn of phrase or the short but so evocative description of someone or something.
I did enjoy this series of stories for the most part. but the banality of life is often so impossible to avoid and when it is reflected as it has been in these stories, it can be a little depressing.
Excellent to read as a writer, and good education.
