Claire has never gotten over the disappearance of her sister during their childhood and when her Dad starts to suffer from Dementia she feels the urge to get her old group of friends together again.
They have all moved on with their lives in different ways but the disappearance of Lenni hangs over them all.
The story is told from different characters perspectives with flashbacks to their childhood and other disturbing chapters which indicate all is not what it seems.
The last few chapters moved at a much faster pace and I really liked the ending.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a five star modern thriller. It's brilliant with many twists and turns, which kept me reading to the last page. Eleanor was a thirteen year old girl who was kidnapped twenty years ago. Her sister Claire wants a friends and family reunion to mark the selling of her parents farm. The reunion is full of tension, deceit and shocks as old memories resurface from the past.

In 1996 thirteen year old Lenni disappears while walking towards the ice cream parlor. Her older sister Claire was in charge and has lived with the guilt since. Now at present time Claire’s dad has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and in an effort to revive his memories of the good times they all shared,Claire decides to have a reunion. But during the reunion when another girl disappears under the same circumstances as Lenni old secrets , guilt and resentments come tumbling out in this engaging thriller.

The Reunion is an entertaining psychological thriller by Samantha Hayes told by different POV’s. The book starts a little slow as we come to know all the characters but the tension soon builds up in the second half and the twists and turns keep coming. Samantha Hayes does a great job throwing suspicion on different characters leading to a jaw dropping ending.

I would like to thank Bookouture & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

I haven’t heard of Samantha Hayes before, but after reading this will be checking out her other books.

This is one where its impossible to figure out. One summers day Lonnie goes missing from a beach. When her parents put the house up for sale, Claire reunites all her friends from that day. But then one of their daughters goes missing. Could history be repeating itself?

What follows is an unpredictable page turner, with plenty of OMG moments. Especially at the end.

Definitely recommending; take on holiday with you and read it in one day.

I was pleased to be approved for this new book from Samantha Hayes, having enjoyed several of her books in the past.

I really enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful and very tense throughout. The ending was one we could not have seen coming. It was completely out of the blue and yet, glaringly obvious all the time.
Cleverly woven together, Samantha Hayes has created a stunning psychological thriller which is addictive and continues to taunt you even after the last page.

Who is lying? Who is next?
Then – In charge of her little sister at the beach, Claire allowed Eleanor to walk to the shop alone to buy an ice cream. Placing a coin into her hand, Claire told her to be quick, knowing how much she wanted the freedom. Eleanor never came back.
Now – The time has finally come to sell the family farm and Claire is organizing a reunion of her dearest friends, the same friends who were present the day her sister went missing. When another girl disappears, long-buried secrets begin to surface. One of the group hides the darkest secret of them all….

Thx to Netgalley, Bookoutre, and Samantha Hayes for this ARC. A reunion for the purpose of hoping to make an Alzheimer’s patient remember the good times of their life before it’s to late. How far would you go to safeguard a secret ? This book might seem to be leading you down a long road, , but the road at the end is well worth the read. Suspenseful, surprising, heartstopping and that “what just happened ?”Moments .

A thrilling read that I did not guess the end to. In this book, a teenage Claire Lucas gives her little sister Lenni money to buy ice cream down the road despite her parents telling her not to let Lenni out of her site. Lenni never comes back. Twenty years later and Claire is married with two children of her own. Her father, Patrick, has Alzheimer’s and her mother is planning on selling the family farm. Claire thinks it’ll be nice to invite her old gang of friends to hang out and lift Patrick’s spirits. As Claire and her friends interact, the disappearance of Lenni is brought up and then the daughter of one of her friends goes missing. Ooh, what the heck is going on? Is it a coincidence or is there a serial kidnapper? Is Lenni dead or alive? This book turned several corners and really sped up at the end.

Thank you to Netgalley, Samantha Hayes and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Brilliant. I have just read this book in one go. There are so many surprises and twists in the plot. Some of the revelations left me sitting open mouthed. This is a definite must read. It is very cleverly written. I got totally caught up in the characters and all the drama in their lives. I really wanted to know what had happened to Lenni. All the red herrings had me guessing wrongly so many times. The beauty of Cornwall is a brilliant setting for this story. It is easy to see why Maggie was jealous of Claires' childhood. Every detail builds a picture wonderfully and adds to the shock of the ending.
