Brooks has been a bit of an idiot where Darcy is concerned. He leapt before he looked and just assumed she had taken the bribe offered by his father. But when he finds out she refused the cash, well he feels a bit of a heel. He tries to get in her good graces sending flowers and such but his father, who finally seems to be re-entering the land of the caring father thanks to a certain former nanny, tells him to apologise in person. On his way to see Darcy he sees her being mugged and runs to the rescue.

Darcy cannot believe that Brooks saved here. After the way he broke her heart, she is not sure she wants anything to do with him any more. She is stressed planning her sisters wedding, dealing with her sisters future father in law and his creepy henchmen.

But when she later hears something she shouldn't she calls on Brooks firm to help her.

I loved the way that Darcy realises why Brooks went a bit OTT in the assumptions he made and can forgive him, but she is not ready to offer up her heart on a silver platter just yet. She wants to get to know Brooks again. Brooks for his part knows he has been a prize idiot and is happy to take it slow if that's what Darcy wants.

Great dollop of danger, creepy henchman, bomb plots and general mayhem. Loves the way the wedding of our previous couple was woven through the book and became a way to keep contact so that the team wouldn't be discovered investigating! Pacing a wee bit slower than previous books but still highly enjoyed it!

What a fantastic book this is. Katie Reus really knows how to write this type of genre and does she do it spot on. Wow her books have you hooked and engrossed the whole way through her books and her characters are just superb. They had me on the edge of my seat and I could not have put this book down even if I wanted to. Only took me a day to read and it was one fantastic day too. Definitely can read this book over and over again as it’s that amazing and outstanding piece of work by a author who is becoming one of my favourites for this type of genre books. A must read all day long and a real page turner too. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone

I just love these romantic suspense books - this one is so great with the second chance romance, intrigue not only from hearing the bombing plot but having a psychopath stalker along with keeping up with the previous couples.

While this is book 3, it can be read as a stand alone, I did read book 1 but not book 2 and I didn't feel like I missed any plot or anything else. I actually did not catch on right away that Skye and Colt were the same people I had read about a while ago.

Wow, I cannot believe how hurtful Brooks was when he thought that Darcy would throw him away for money when Brook's dad offered to pay her to leave Brooks. Kind of surprised that it took him so long to talk to his dad and find out that Darcy turned down the money!

So glad that Darcy was firm on not spending time with Brooks and not being a pushover when he wanted her back. I always like when the man has to work at getting his woman back and love it when the woman doesn't just give in right away.

Loved all the little hints on the future relationships coming up with Gage and Nova and Leighton and Hazel, I am really looking forward to reading those books and hope they are out soon!

3.5 Stars. I liked Dangerous Witness but not quite as much as I liked the previous two books. While you could read this as a stand alone the overall plot does tie into the plot of book 1. I liked both Brooks and Darcy and I love that Brooks knows he really screwed up and has to make it up to Darcy.
It's fun watching him try to figure out how to do that and get Darcy to forgive him. Darcy is strong and independent and I liked her as well.

This book just doesn't have quite the action that the first two books had. Darcy's situation really involves the whole team and the pace slows down quite a bit in the middle of the book. I did enjoy seeing more of Gage and Nova and also seeing Leighton and his possible love interest. It took me a bit to warm up to Darcy but I ended up really liking her and of course Brooks is just swoon worthy. The romantic gesture at the end might have been a bit OTT but it was very sweet.

This is a great book; this book is the third book in the Redemption Harbor series written by Katie Reus. Wedding planner Darcy is no stranger to disappointment when it comes to the men in her life. When Brooks accused her of taking his father’s bribe, she was devastated that he thought so little of her and realized he never knew her at all. So she walked away with her pride intact and her heart broken. Now, months later, an overheard conversation puts Darcy in the crosshairs of a dangerous criminal with powerful connections. With nowhere else to turn, she has no choice but to put all her trust in Redemption Harbor Consulting and its cofounder, the man who broke her heart. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

Soldiers. Protectors. Redemption. Resurrection. Rising.

Welcome to Redemption Harbor! If anyone hasn’t been introduced to a new set of alpha soldiers serving their country and fighting for their loved ones, unconditionally and unequivocally, this is the perfect series to start, curled up with a smooth drink!

Co-founder and elite soldier of Redemption Harbor Consulting, Brooks Alexander had done a lot of things that he wasn’t proud of, but letting go of his woman Darcy, was one of the biggest mistakes he regrets everyday! When misunderstandings see the light of day, he will do whatever it takes to win Darcy over and redeem his mistakes. And with Darcy becoming a “Dangerous Witness” she’s never leaving his side.

Disappointed that Brooks would think less of her, Darcy Cooper walks out of his life with her pride intact and put all her anger, betrayal and pain in getting her wedding planning business off the ground to make a success of it. Overhearing a conversation of devastating proportions that link her sister and her fiancé, putting her in the crosshairs of destruction, leaves her no choice but to seek the safety of Redemption Harbor Consulting and their services.

Now that fate has brought Darcy into Brooks’ life again, he would move heaven and earth to win her heart again and keep her safe. As they try to stay one step ahead of an enemy within their circle, Darcy and Brooks lose the battle with their love and hearts.

Katie Reus once again takes the readers on an adrenaline ride of heist, bullets, betrayal and friendships. With a dose of passion, and adrenaline, book three of her series, “Dangerous Witness" is another spicy thriller.

Brooks and Darcy had a past relationship, a relationship that Brooks really screwed up.

Darcy was heartbroken that Brooks didn't trust her and believes he never knew her if he believed all the lies that were told to him by his father. She picked up the pieces of her heart and concentrated on her wedding planner business.

Brooks realizes months later that he messed up and royally. He missed Darcy and decides he loves her and will go win her back as well as try and explain himself (like he could, really). But when he arrives at her business late one night (he knows she works late) he saved her from being attacked as she was leaving. That precipitates his protective instincts in keeping her safe. He moves her into his home to protect her and find out what's precipitated the attack and if she's going to be safe going forward.

This allows Brooks to try and win Darcy back. He has a lot of groveling to do and Darcy is determined to keep her heart locked up and safe from Brooks. The two dance around each other in the days ahead. Darcy accidentally overheard something and that is what puts her in even more danger and she realizes she needs Brooks.

I found this to be more suspense then romance. Brooks and his blunder was kind of a weak and pretty flimsy in it's storyline and turned me off to his character. Darcy was sweet and strong. Pacing was a little slow for me as well the setup with Brooks and Darcy's misunderstanding.

4 stars
Brooks Alexander has watched two of his best friends find love and it makes him miss his "one that got away"...well the one he accused, made angry, and pushed away by not trusting her. So he is trying to find a way to apologize to her and get a chance to rectify his mistake.

Darcy is busy with her wedding planning business and her sister's upcoming wedding. She was not expecting to see Brooks again, but he showed up just when she needed him. Althoug she is not ready to forget or forgive either. But when she finds herself a witness to something she should not have heard and seems to have some threats against her, she will need him and his friends' skills and connections to help her.

Brooks is not only a rich rancher, but also capable as an operative. He is protective, possessive, and determined. His mission is not only to keep her safe and bring down the bad guys, but also to regain her trust. And as they are spending more time together, it makes them remember why they were so good together until he ruined it all. But Darcy has a lot on her plate and he broke her heart in the worst way. She is independent, feisty, loving, and strong-willed...and afraid to get hurt again.

Will Brooks be able to get her out of a dire situation while also trying to win back her heart?

This was full of threats, antagonists, action, suspense, and danger. But it is also a story of forgiveness, trust, and second chances.

This brings back all of the characters from the first two books: Colt and Skye, Savage and Olivia, Mercer and Mary Grace, and also focuses on some of the other members of Redemption Harbor Consulting such as Gage, Nova, and Leighton. I really enjoy this group and how they push each other. They are smart, resourceful, protective, and operate on the fringes of the law but for the right reasons. I am looking forward to more books with Gage and Leighton hopefully.

Redemption Harbor is another exhilarating series by author Katie Rues. The characters are strong and command readers’ attention from the very beginning. Darcy and Brooks have a past which means that the romance is full of emotional turbulence and is quite the rocky road for the characters which really gets readers caught up in their story and of course the attraction has fireworks exploding from every page.

Dangerous Witness not only has all the enthralling characters of Redemption Harbor appearing but the fast paced plot keeps the adrenaline pumping with edge of the seat thrills, suspense building events and surprising twists, so there readers can’t put the book down until they have read every last word.

It’s no secret that I find Katie Reus’ books to be thrilling and fascinating, so it should come as no surprise that I found Dangerous Witness to be a remarkable read from beginning to end. It was full of life-like characters in a realistic setting and I can’t wait to visit Redemption Harbor again.

Dangerous Witness is the third book in Katie Reus's Redemption Harbor series, and is a second chance romance between Brooks and Darcy.

Brooks and Darcy were in a relationship but due to his meddling father and Brooks making a bad decision, they broke up. Seven months later, when Darcy finds herself in danger after overhearing something she shouldn't have, she turns to Brooks and the company he owns with his friends, for help. Realising he made a mistake seven months ago, Brooks is determined to prove himself to Darcy. He is going to make her his again, but first he has to protect her, and he will stop at nothing to keep her safe.

Dangerous Witness had the perfect mix of romance, suspense and action. I thought Brooks jumped to conclusions too quickly about Darcy when they first broke up, but the more I learnt about him, the more I understood why he did it. Second chance romances are one of my favourite tropes and Brooks and Darcy were a great couple. Brooks had a lot to make up for and Darcy did not just forgive him and jump straight back into a relationship. They start off as friends and go from there - it didn't not take long though for sparks to fly between them.

The story itself was a real page turner, and I love the quotes Katie Reus put at the front of each new chapter - it gives the reader a little tempting taster of what's to come!
New characters are introduced and we get to catch up with characters from previous books - including adorable little Valencia! There is also a hint of another romance..I can't wait to see how that pans out!
I'm loving this series and eagerly awaiting the next book!

Wow! I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ms. Reus does not disappoint. Another great story! I have not had the pleasure to read the two books prior to this one yet but you will not be lost, promise. In this story we have Brooks and Darcy. Brooks made a huge mistake 7 months prior and is now realizing the error of his ways. After accusing Darcy of something she did not do, there relationship ended. Now he wants her back and is willing to do anything to get her back. Darcy needs help and protection, from Redemption Harbor and Consulting, after hearing something she shouldn't have. Filled with action, suspense, great secondary characters, steamy sex scenes, this story takes you on a rollercoaster ride. Brooks and Darcy get their HEA. 4 stars!!!

What’s it About? Brooks Alexander was in love with Darcy Cooper and ready to propose to her. Then he stupidly assumed that when his father offered her two million dollars to walk away from him she willingly took it, and Brooks broke her heart over it. Months later, Brooks finds out he made an epic mistake because Darcy never took the money. Now he wants her back but he knows that it won’t be easy, Darcy no longer trusts him. Darcy has recently started her own wedding planner business and it’s going well but when she overhears a dangerous conversation it puts her life at risk and the only option she has is to turn to Redemption Harbor Consulting, the company Brooks co-founded and hope that she’s not making a big mistake by letting him back in to her life to help her.

Overall reaction to the story? There are plenty of romantic suspense authors out there but only Katie Reus can keep me coming back for more! I have been on pins and needles ever since the scene in the previous book where Brooks’ father dropped some serious info on him: Darcy didn’t take the money! Brooks was a moron and totally wrong about her! I was wondering how things would play out and what kind of person Darcy was. The curiosity was driving me batty and I had high expectations for Dangerous Witness and I wasn’t disappointed at all.

Describe the hero in five words: Protective. Charming. Intelligent. Stubborn. Determined.
Did you like him? Yes.
Why? After Brooks found out that Darcy didn’t take the money he started kicking his own butt over how he treated her when they broke up and yes, I was a little happy about that because he was an unreasonable jerk about it. But Brooks wasn’t a villain, he was humbled by what happened and yes, I did love that he knew he was in the wrong and didn’t try to place blame on Darcy. Brooks was still in love with her and was willing to work hard to earn back Darcy’s trust and her love. He wasn’t afraid to play dirty and unleash his lethal charm and sex appeal which was sexy and sometimes funny because he didn’t take himself too seriously. I really liked him, he was fair but tough when it came to protecting people but at the same time he wasn’t threatened by a strong woman either. Did I mention he’s actually a cowboy? RAWR.

Describe the heroine in five words: Stubborn. Kind. Smart. Funny. Brave.
Did you like her? Yes.
Why? Darcy isn’t like Skye, or Olivia. She doesn’t have secret abilities, she’s a woman, who has regular dreams but she was anything but dull. She had the tenacity to build her own life after Brooks broke her heart. I loved that she didn’t wallow in her situation, she went out with a double dose of fierceness and made her dream of owning her own wedding planner business a reality! That didn’t mean that she wasn’t hurt, just that she wasn’t going to let Brooks break her heart AND ruin her business plans. She was also a sweetheart to people and I do love a heroine with a good heart and a spine of steel. I liked that she was bold enough to play her part in bringing down someone dangerous but smart enough to know when she was in over her head and needed to let the professionals take over.

Let’s talk about the romance: Brooks is still very much in love with Darcy and he doesn’t bother to hide it from his friends or from her which is great because he already screwed up big time, he didn’t need to add something else to Darcy’s reasons not to let him get close. These two couldn’t deny their attraction though. They just fit so well, Brooks was the charming, rich cowboy who wasn’t perfect but deserved someone that loved him for him and that was Darcy all the way. Darcy was a total sweetheart but her childhood left her a bit lonely and Brooks was a package deal, to take him on was to also take his friends on. Brooks wasn’t too much of a dominating presence and he was content to step back and let Darcy shine on her own which was great but these two also had a friendship that made the romance feel more solid. Of course, with this being their second chance romance, there was some growing to do on both their parts so that it didn’t seem like they were just picking up where they left off but creating something stronger on top of what they had before. I loved that.

How about that supporting cast? Brooks’ friends are the best. I loved seeing Skye, Colt, Olivia, and Savage again, it felt like I was playing catch up with them. They’re wonderful characters and yes, Skye is still my favorite but I’m wondering, what’s up with Gage and Nova?? Or Leighton and that really kick-butt agent Hazel Blake that he knows? I think she’s going to be a favorite character! Ugh, four characters that I need to know more about like now! Lol.

Dangerous Witness by Katie Reus was one of those books once you start reading you don't want to put down.
I enjoyed the storyline, the drama was well done, it kept me turning the pages and I loved Brooks and Darcy together.
Watching them reconnect after years apart brought out the feels. These two were perfect for each other, and I'm happy they took their time getting reacquainted, communicating honestly and accepting life is so much better being together.

Overall, Dangerous Witness is a great addition to the Redemption Harbor series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all!!

Family, family, family. Boy, do they bring all kinds of troubles to Brookes and Darcy in Dangerous Witness by Katie Reus. This story has non-stop action and some sizzling romance. It is the kind of read that gets you heart pumping thinking of how the bad guys are so close to Brooks and Darcy.

Brooks is one tough, sexy former military, co-owner of Redemption Harbor Consulting. He is one of the good guys in this world. Not to say that Brooks is perfect; he is clearly able to jump to conclusions, the wrong conclusions. The develop of his character as he tries to make things right with Darcy, then work on his relationship with his dad is well written. There is real depth to this macho man. Darcy is equally his match of being a strong, do the right thing kind of person.

All of the series is great but Dangerous Witness is one of the best. Ms. Reus has out done herself this time.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley.

I adore Katie Reus and was thrilled to see she had a new book! I actually haven't read the previous installments in this series yet, but the summary of this book completely drew me in. I love a good second chance romance, especially if there is some suspense and danger. This book checked all boxes!

I really enjoyed the plot as well as the romance between Darcy and Brooks. They have a lovely romance, which was more of a slow burn that I always appreciate. There was a good amount of action and suspense to keep the pace moving swiftly. My only slight complaint would be that I wanted to see more interaction between Darcy and Brooks. There were scenes where I wanted more--like when he was checking her house for bugs. Did they really not have any conversation after he cleared the house? But overall I still enjoyed the story a great deal! I assume Gage and Nova are next, and I just can't wait!

liked Dangerous Witness a lot, mainly because I really loved Brooks. He knows he effed up BIG and there's no question that he wants to fix things between him and Darcy but he doesn't really know how. Watching him figure it out and than go all in to win his girl back was adorable and he won me over pretty quickly after that.

The underlying plot was a bit slow to start and wasn't really hands on for our MCs, mostly it's a group effort. That didn't really bother me because it gave us a chance to catch up with the rest of the guys and girls of the group and we get more info on Gage and Nova and Leighton and his love interest. It didn't slow down the pace for Darcy and Brooks but it didn't derail the main focus off of them either.

I notice reluctant or wishy washy h's tend to take longer for me to warm up to and that was the case with Darcy. She was smart, independent and success in her own right but I didn't get why she was holding out with Brooks for so long. She forgives him right away for the way things ended between them 7 months ago and doesn't hold out long with him when it comes to their physical relationship but does push him away emotionally. I felt like she did things backwards.

KR doesn't disappoint, although Skye and Cole are still my top favorite couple of this series, Brooks and Darcy were a nice addition to the group. Brooks is the sweetest of the group and I loved his grand gesture at the end. OTT? Maybe. But ate it up with a spoon. Darcy is a lucky girl :)

Memorable Moments:
The barn scene - all I'm gonna say is that is was crazy good and gave me all the feels.

Would I recommend? Yes. Katie Reus can do no wrong in my book!

With her interesting characters and suspenseful plots, Katie Reus is becoming a must buy author for me. I enjoyed the first two books in the Redemption Harbor Series, especially Savage Rising, which received one of my rare 5-star reviews. I’m becoming attached to the wonderful group of friends in the series and I enjoyed the suspense aspect of Dangerous Witness, but I felt it had a few of issues.

A second chance romance, at first I had a hard time feeling any kind of connection between Brooks and Darcy. Part of this was my difficulty swallowing that when his dad brought up to Brooks that he’d offered Darcy money, he didn’t follow it up with the fact she didn’t take it. That seems like something that he would have made clear since he seemed to actually like her. Plus, if Brooks was that much into her, I don’t get why he didn’t ask. The good news is I eventually warmed up to them as a couple. Darcy was super sweet and Brooks ended up being everything I like in a hero: hot, sexy and alpha protective.

The hardest thing for me to reconcile was the horrific convoluted plans of the main bad guy. I completely get that evil can wear sheep’s clothing, but I couldn’t see the man as he was portrayed with his family planning such a vicious horrid thing in order to get revenge. Truly, the plans themselves didn’t make a lot of sense seeing as how it was serious overkill with so many innocents involved.

Taking all the above on board, these issues didn’t stop me from enjoying Dangerous Witness. The chemistry between Brooks and Darcy was combustible making for a super sexy book. Despite my misgivings about the plot, the suspense was palpable with a few edge-of-your-seat moments. We also got to meet a couple new and interesting characters in Agent Hazel Blake, who served with Leighton, and Hadley, a new addition to the family that I can’t wait to hear more about. I can’t wait to see what happens next with the Redemption Harbor crew.

Rating: 3.5 Suspenseful Stars

I can't get enough of Katie Reus' Redemption Harbor series. She's created a world of strong women and Alpha males that are complex and beautifully flawed. Then she adds in a little danger and you've got a thrill ride.

At first glance, you'd think Brooks was just the money guy. I mean, he's freaking loaded. He loans out his private jet at the drop of a hat, and his ranch can house the entire Redemption Harbor Consulting team and more. But there's a lot more to Brooks. He carries a lot of weight on his shoulders.

Darcy is focused and driven. It's her and her sister against the world. She's building a successful business and trying to get over a certain idiot that didn't ever really see her. Or at least that's what she keeps telling herself when Brooks totally blindsides her. It seems money, whether you have it or not, really is hard on a relationship.

So when Darcy overhears something she shouldn't, she turns to reaches out to Brooks' best friend for help from Redemption Harbor Consulting. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the Redemption Harbor Consulting crew? I love getting to visit characters we've already met. Skye is still one of my favorites, and who doesn't love Valencia? The peeks and updates that Reus gives really make the entire world more rich and complex. And what's up with Gage and Leighton?

I'm totally hooked on the Redemption Harbor series and can't wait to see what Reus has in store next!
