Brooks is one of the cofounders of Redemption Harbour Consulting and just recently learned that he made the biggest mistake of his life, by assuming the worst about the woman he loves! He needs to do something to fix it and sets about doing just that. Darcy is a wedding planner, but since Brooks left she hasn’t had much of a personal life apart from her sister and her fiancé and she has fully emerged herself in her work to forget the pain of his leaving! Until one night when he comes by to talk to her and ends up saving her life. Can she forgive him and give him the second chance he craves?

Loved this book and this series, and I would recommend reading them and anything else by this author:) Happy reading! I also received an advance copy through Netgalley for this book and voluntarily leave my review!

Brooks and Darcy had been dating for a while until his father told him she accepted two million dollars to stop seeing him. He confronts her and they break up. Now seven months later Darcy is planning her sister’s wedding and overhears a conversation she shouldn’t have. She doesn’t know who to tell so she goes to Brooks. Brooks and his friends own a consulting business and they have to figure out what’s going down, when, and how. Plus try to win Darcy back.
Excellent story with funny characters, suspenseful storyline, and some sexy scenes. Crazy in laws, rich men, and hard working women who love them.

DANGEROUS WITNESS by Katie Reus. “Redemption Harbor”. book 3
Darcy, a new business being a wedding planner, and thoughts maybe of a wedding with Brooks. She came from a dysfuctual family so when Brooks Dad made an offer, she didn’t put much thought into it, except to say no, and to tell Brook tonight. His jaw and angry look said it all, he believed his dad,who been married how many times, she wouldn’t defend herself. Learning the truth, he wondered if he was beyond redemption, with her. What follows, is a love that hadn’t died, a planner for Savages wedding, and we have bad guys. This has it all, characters from some of her other books, and how Brooks won Darcy back, a winner once again for Katie.
Received ARC from. Net Galley for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

Let me begin by saying that I have read other books by this author and really liked them. However, this one fell short for me personally. Part of the problem might be that I had actually not read the prior books in this particular series, and although this is touted as a possible standalone, and although the author does explain the backstory of Brooks and Darcy that I guess came out in the prior book, I still had a huge sense that I was missing things by not having read the other books. The premise of this series, and the plot of this particular book, are very interesting. Where the story fell apart for me was in its lack of tightness. It has a lot of repetition (e.g., you only need to tell me once that Brooks' father just moved back from Florida), and some unnecessary details (e.g., unimportant character details about characters that appear only once and are completely inconsequential to the story). I'm not sure why the repetition in particular wasn't cleaned up during editing. In terms of characterization, I liked Brooks and Darcy, although I didn't feel a whole lot of chemistry. I felt more chemistry between Gage and Nova, whose story I'm guessing is next. With all that being said, I like the premise of this series enough that I will likely go back and read the first book so that I understand how it all started, and I would definitely be interested in reading Gage and Nova's story because their chemistry in this book is exactly what I'm looking for between lead characters. Others readers clearly loved Brooks and Darcy together, so if the blurb of this one appeals to you, give it a shot.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again..Katie Reus is my “go to” author when I want a romance safe romantic read with an alpha protective, good guy hero. Brooks, the hero, didn’t break that trend, folks. I’m here to testify he wanted nothing more than to love and protect Darcy, the heroine. Unfortunately for him, he did a “not cool” move prior to the onset of this book that put him in the proverbial dog house. Darcy rightfully did not forgive right away. This book picks up from there, recapping, of course, what originally happened that tore these two lovebirds apart.

With a much slower pace than I expected, this second chance romance slowly unfolds with a relatively long list of sub-characters and side elements centered around exposing one central life-threatening plot. We are also presented with what felt like introductions to more than one potential future main couples that will likely get their own stories eventually. Yeah, Gage, I’m mostly talking about you. I can’t wait to see that handsome hacker continue to get swept off his feet and give into temptation/cross lines with a fellow co-worker he considers off-limits.

Though you’ll have to wait for it, some very detailed, graphic steamy scenes did play out here, as well. So, don’t go into this thinking this is a fade to black. They build up to it though as this patient hero wants the heroine to be all in when they intimately reconnect again.

In summary, I enjoyed it though a few parts played out relatively convenient/predictable. However, there was enough suspense/drama I stayed fully engaged. As a lover of relationship angst/remorseful, groveling protective heroes, the storyline was definitely a good fit for this reviewer.

Title: Dangerous Witness, Series: Redemption Harbor (Book 3), Author: Katie Reus, Pages: 300, stand-alone but part of a series, remorseful/alpha hero who regrets losing his girl, damsel in distress heroine, very steamy later in the storyline, no cheating, celibate during separation, no love triangle, no OM/OW drama, kidnapping, heroine is injured.

Book 1 - Resurrection (Skye & Colt), Pages: 250, 7/11/17
Book 2 - Savage Rising (Olivia & Savage), Pages: 250, 9/26/17
Book 3 - Dangerous Witness (Darcy & Brooks), Pages: 300, 1/30/18

This is book 3 in Katie Reus's new series Redemption Harbor. It can be read as a stand alone but as the others are just as good as this one, I recommend reading those too! This one is about Brooks Alexander who is one of the founding members of Redemption Harbor Consulting. He owns the ranch where most of the other members tend to stay or spend an enormous amount of time. Darcy Cooper is a wedding planner that Brooks had dated seriously until he accused her of taking money from his father to leave him alone. All without ever asking or having a real conversation with her. Now he has learned just how wrong he was. He never stopped loving her and just hopes he can make it right and have her back in his life. Darcy thought he knew her better and it broke something in her when he said the things he did. She doesn't want to put herself through the heartache of being around him again since she doesn't think she can ever trust him again. Until she overhears something she shouldn't have and has no where else to turn but to him and his friends.

I absolutely loved this book! This series has drawn me in and this book was definitely no different than the others in that regard. Brooks knows he made a mistake, and he is man enough to actually apologize and try to make Darcy understand why he did and said what he did. He is sweet, protective, and loving. And I loved him! Darcy has so much heart and she seems to wear it on her sleeve for others. She is such a strong person but without it hardening her and turning her bitter. She still has the courage to love others and to do what is right even when it puts her in danger. And them together? I loved them together! They are perfect for each other, especially once they work out their differences. I can't wait to see where the other books take us in this series!
