A great read, with great world build, with drama and suspense. The characters were vividly portrayed. I would certainly recommend this book to you. Well written and fluid.

Loved this book. It's a great start to the series and it's good to see a different side of Seth. Fast moving and thrilling.

This is book 1 of a 3 part series. Fast paced super sexy, quick novella. The story of Seth and Amanda is an intriguing covert mystery story. The groundwork was been established for the next episode.

Danger, suspense, Passion and Cliff hangers those are the things that Lisa specializes in. In Poison Kisses she gives us that in spades. Seth and Amanda are battling their feeling for each other while fighting the feelings of betrayal and the danger that looms over their lives.
This book will quickly become an addiction and leave you wanted and waiting for the next two books in the series.
The passion between Amanda is evident by the first pages in this book making you want to know how their story unfolds.

My Thoughts:
For years now, I've heard incredible things about Lisa Renee Jones' books. She's on my list of authors that I want to be able to read eventually. In fact, she has been for quite a long time. I recently had the opportunity to read one of her books, Poison Kisses Part 1. Unfortunately, I DNF'd it halfway through.

I feel bad for DNF'ing Poison Kisses Part 1 halfway through. It's such a short book that Goodreads has it listed at 86 pages. Usually I don't do that with short books, but it just wasn't holding my interest at all. To me, it felt like the book was all sex, no plot. Don't get me wrong, I love smutty books. I read quite a few of them. However, I like them to have a story line that makes sense too, whether it be serious, or funny. It still needs to be about something if you were to remove those scenes.

Unfortunately, I didn't like Poison Kisses Part 1. In fact, I didn't like it so much that I ended up DNF'ing it, which is unusual for me. I really do want to give Lisa Renee Jones' books another chance because I believe opinions of an author's writing shouldn't be based on one bad experience that someone has with one of their books. I have a feeling that I might enjoy one of her series, The Secret Life of Amy Benson. I own those books, so I think I'm going to try that next.

I give Poison Kisses Part 1: 1/5.

This was good! I loved the characters, and the storyline sucked me in. I'm not a fan of part 1, part 2 type stories, but this one let you know from the very beginning with the title and cover what you were getting.

Interesting story, it kind of left me hanging, and not into books that make you buy the next and next just to get the whole story.

Because this was a spin off of Lisa Renee Jones' Dirty Money series (which I loved!), I decided to ask for this one. I have to tell you, this one did not work for me. I felt like there were so many details from the Dirty Money series that you had to remember to keep going with the Poison Kisses serial. I was just a fan of this spin off.

Because of this, I will not be leaving a review as I do not think it would be fair to Lisa Renee Jones. I love her work, but this one just didn't work for me this time. I do want to binge read her Dirty Money series again to see if it changes my mind about her Poison Kisses serial, but that will not be anytime soon as I have other books that need my attentions as a blogger.

Powerful, addictive and just so so good. Loved the characters, the storyline and generally everything about the book.

This author can certainly write suspense really well.

Well, here we go. Poison Kisses Part 1 … I am not sure where Lisa Renee Jones is bringing this story but, the first book was highly suspenseful. Seth and Amanda … what happened to make them hate each other the way they do? Knowing this author, maybe we'll find out before the series is over or maybe not.
There is a thin line between love and hate and I have a feeling that Seth and Amanda are doing a tight-rope walk on it. I'm not sure who will attack who first. Both are alpha, formidable people who each have their own skill sets. They will do or say whatever it takes to get under the other's skin. Threats and promises made on each side … promises are made to be broken … threats need to be taken seriously. And, I seriously think Seth is not making promises but threats that will, eventually have Amanda begging.
Poison Kisses Part 1 read like a prologue to a story that is going to be exciting and, predictably, extremely erotic. I cannot wait to see where Lisa Renee Jones brings these two ex-CIA operatives and how Seth makes Amanda pay for her betrayal. I'm interested in seeing where this is all going and just what she did to him. I'm also looking forward to the impeccable story telling abilities of Lisa Renee Jones. She actually wrote to characters that I didn't like but totally intrigued me. Kudos to an author who could do that.

5 Stars

“I know real. I know betrayal. I know death. And I know blood.”

This book felt longer than it actually is...I was so absorbed in the details that I felt I was living this story. I love the way it reflects back to the beginning of their aquantince. I feel like it’s woven into the story perfectly...it’s a smooth transition. You almost feel like you are getting two stories.

“I don’t stay, that’s never going to change. You know this”

They have so much passion of equal parts hate and love. There’s mistrust. Uncertainty. Hope. Chemistry. Mystery. Doubt. Pain.

“I don’t play cat and mouse games unless I’m the cat.”

This book leaves you with a crazy cliffhanger and you will be quick to one-click POISON KISSES: PART 2.

“I think this is one of the only perfect moments I remember in my life. I think it’s the only time my world has felt perfect.”

What more could you ask for in a twist and turn love story. Murder, mayhem and all of the feels that go with falling in love, yet not really knowing all of the secrets each other has.

I was hesitant to read this because I knew it was a 3 part series. Cliffhangers kill me because I have no patience, and I am especially picky about 3 part series because the middle installment usually feels forced and goes nowhere. Despite all of this, I decided to give this a try and now I'm hooked. Ms. Jones really knows how to write an explosive romance. These are intriguing characters with a lot of depth and secrets. The mix between current day and flashbacks really works in this story. I was definitely hooked by the plot. If a story does end in a cliffhanger, I need to be left NEEDING to know what happens next, and this one definitely delivered.

*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

"She made me love her. Then she betrayed me."

Seth Cage and Amanda Skye have history here and we are dropped right into the thick of it and it is intense! We see Seth plotting his revenge on Amanda and he is going to make her want him and then he plans to leave her high and... well not dry.

This was a short, sexy, steamy read that will not disappoint!

I finally get more of Seth. We first meet him in LRJ’s Dirty Money series and he was mmmm. Of course Lisa blow his story out of the park. Who doesn't love the angst of love, betrayal and hot encounters from the past?

The chemistry between Seth and Amanda in the past is delectable. But after what is believed to be a betrayal by the girl that tore him to be the cynical man now has to come face to face with her and protect her.

Is it possible to let the past go or will it cause a possible good thing end?

Poison Kisses Part 1 was my first read by Lisa Renee Jones. The premise of the book intrigued me enough to read it and I’m happy I did. I was hooked on Seth and Amanda’s story from the beginning. The glimpses of what lead them to the situation they are in now and the ending that will leave you looking to jump into Part 2 right away.

5 star

I was pulled right into this story. The story has lies, secrets, suspense, and heartbreak. This is a three part story so you need to be prepared to read the all the parts to get answers to all your questions.

This is Amanda and Seth’s story. Seth is not happy with Amanda but he is about to get his revenge. She needs his help and he is about to make her pay for the betrayal she did to him. He is determined to make her want him and then he will make her beg. Can he handle keeping her safe and getting her to fall for him. Can he then walk away from her after the danger passes or will he be unable to safe her from the danger let alone get her to fall.

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.
