I can't stop with just this part one for the novella...guess I know what I'll be reading this weekend! Part 2 and 3 are first up! I don't think a full review can be given until the other parts are read, it's just not complete yet. No slow build here like some of her other books, this one starts out bold and quick. Full review to come later.

Poison Kisses Part 1 is the story of the down right sexy bodyguard from the Dirty Money series. This is a serialization so beware, it does end in a cliff hanger but don't worry the next one in the series gets published soon. Luckily, I received the series as an Advanced Reader so I don't have to wait too long.

I have to say, I love how Lisa is able create both male and female characters with unique backgrounds and great personalities. Seth is the same Seth that we have grown to love in the Dirty Money series but we get to know more about what makes him tick. I love him as a character so I was incredibly happy to learn more about his story. He is definitely an Alpha Male that has finally found his match in Amanda.Amanda is the Poison Princess who definitely knows how to put an Alpha Male in his place. I love the fierceness of her character and that she has some soft edges. My only issue is that it is harder to get to know her as a character in only 78 pages.

All in all, I could gush about this novella for ages but I'm scared I'll give too much away. If you enjoyed the Dirty Money series, you'll enjoy this.

Poison Kisses is Seth Cage's story. We first learned about Seth from the Bad Deeds series and I was excited that were are getting more from one of my favorite series.

I'll admit I was surprised by Seth in the first installment. He's pretty cold and ruthless. I mean he was in Bad Deeds knowing he was former CIA but I think reading his thoughts brought it home to just how cold he can be.

Amanda is another surprising character. I don't remember getting any information on her in the previous series but I wasn't really expecting a rogue agent to be soft.

This first installment brings Seth back into Amanda's world after 3 years of no contact and 3 years of being out of the CIA. They each believe the other has betrayed each other and now they are forced to work together once again except Seth has been ordered to kill Amanda when their mission is done.

This is a very short installment so we just get a glimpse into their start of the mission. It does end on a cliffhanger. ARC provided by NetGalley.

It's ok. Thin in some areas -- character development, for example -- but what can I expect from a serial that's broken into 3 parts and can be read in a few hours? Well, I could expect more heat... and... come to think of it, I CAN expect more. (I was enthralled with Sawyer Bennett's Sugar Bowl series and that remains a well-done serial.)

I'm a huge fan of smart, strong alphas. The "Scientist" concept reminded me of the heroine's skillset in Stephenie Meyer's "The Chemist," which I liked. I enjoy a good undercover/covert story. There was certainly some nice stuff here, but I also wished it could've been better.

This first installment is fast paced, intriguing, sensual and full of mysteries.

Seth is ex CIA, now working for Brandon Enterprises. He is recalled by the CIA to go on a mission where a lethal enemy has resurfaced. To complete this mission, he has to work with Amanda, his ex partner and ex lover of three years ago.

Facing each other again brings back old feelings, however betrayal only causes animosity between them. They are persued right from the start and running for their lives to accomplish the mission is more important than killing each other. For the time being!

This is recounted from Seth's POV, and alternates between the present and what transpired in the past to lead to their hatred. Even though their attraction is still strong, there is no trust left. Are they both guilty of betrayal or is there something more going on in the background?

The tension keeps building up throughout this first part and it ends on a cliffhanger. It's a nail biter and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

So I am going to hold my full review until I finish all three parts of this series. I will say that this first part was OK for me. I am used to this author having very little OW drama in her books so to be smacked in the face right at the beginning with a sex scene between the hero, and another woman put a damper on my experience right from the start. Add in the going back and forth from past to present, which I am also not a fan of, and the continuous animosity and angst, and this one was just OK.

That said, I am intrigued enough to continue...so on I go to part two.

Quick and easy read from Lisa Renee Jones! Finally, more on our elusive Seth Cage. He's dreamy, daring, sexy, mouth watering beautiful and we get to see him upfront and center while also getting a front row seat to his very own story.

Wow! Seth and Amanda’s story is a fast paced, exciting mystery moving from their unconventional past to a present day mission that they both suddenly find themselves in. Do they trust each other or not? Can they focus through their mutual chemistry to finally figure out who and what ripped them apart three years earlier! Great read and I can’t wait to see how this mystery plays out.

Poison Kisses kept me almost out of breath for the duration of the story. I had already met Seth in the Dirty Money series, but man - getting to know him better is great! I can't wait to see what will happen next!

"I don't play cat and mouse games unless I'm the cat."

Finally after waiting and waiting, Seth's book has finally come.
He's your typical tall, dark, and handsome. But beneath that cold exterior he portrays, his black heart Is in pieces. Shattered by the one woman he loved. With his job, he must be in her presence... and Seth made a promise to himself that he will make her feel the pain that he felt.

With the time that has passed, he believes he will be immune to her "poison kisses" but ohh how wrong he was. No matter how long they have been apart, the attraction is still there. But even stronger.

The suspense, action, and romance.... melted my panties off. Poison Kisses blew my mind, and I can't wait for part 2!

Poison Kisses: Part 1 is the first book in this 3 part series. Per Goodreads the first part is 86 pages. This is a spin off from the Dirty Money Series. You don’t have to read it to understand what is happening in this new series. Although, the Dirty Money Series is very good!

Poison Kisses: Part 1 is Amanda Larke and Seth Cage’s story. Seth is a CIA Assassin and his target is Amanda. Seth knows Amanda when they were partners in the CIA and he knows her intimately. Seth accepts the contract to kill her. Now they are enemies. I don’t want to say more because I don’t want to give away any spoilers. But, let me tell you the chemistry between the two of them is pretty HOT.

I love the first part of the story and can’t wait to start the second part.

I really enjoyed this first book in a 3-part serial.
I Love the chemistry between Seth and Amanda. They are both very stubborn but I think they are very suited to each other.
Really enjoyed the story the sex scenes are hot between the two of them. I do not want to say much because I do not want to spoil it but if you need a quick read with steamy scenes with a good story then I recommend this book.
Cannot wait to get my hands on the next installment.

"I don't play cat and mouse games unless I'm the cat."

Finally, #SexySeth get's his own story. If you've read the author's Dirty Money series, you've already met him. But if not, you'll still love him. He's bossy, badass, brutal, and suffering from a broken heart. He was betrayed by the woman he loved. His job forces him to reconnect with her, and this time he's determined to make sure that she's left broken and begging. Did you catch all those B-words?

He thinks their time apart has made him immune to her poison kisses, but he soon learns that he's only fooling himself. The chemistry between them is still just as strong as it used to be. But the trust is gone. "We want each other. We hate each other." As they battle their lust to concentrate on survival the tension and suspense build.

And that's not all that builds. My damn curiosity is in the red zone, ready to blow the top off my Kindle if I don't get some answers soon. What the hell happened between them? What is "the ultimate lie" and who is pulling their strings? Who are the bad guys in this intriguing tale? I guess we'll just have to wait to find out when we get to the next phase of the story. See ya there. The line forms here...

Passionate and deadly unfinished business…

This is the part one of a three part serial featuring an enigmatic character from the Dirty Money series, the ending is a cliff-hanger. The serial pieces are scheduled to release a week apart from each other.

As “The Fixer” for Brandon Enterprises Seth Cage still uses his covert CIA skills but no longer for the government. But with all that he’s seen and done can a CIA operative truly walk away? The past has come a calling and for this CIA mission he won’t say no. Years ago a woman he let himself fall in love with, a fellow agent, betrayed him, and her time of reckoning is upon them.

As the daughter of CIA operatives Amanda Skye learned from the cradle how to protect herself and how to vanish from government surveillance. Time makes even the best operatives lax, she slipped up and is back on the CIA’s radar at an opportune time, her skills are needed for one last job. What happens after will have to be determined but she suspects her time on this earth is dwindling down.

After three years the sting of betrayal is still as strong as the passion between them. But who betrayed whom? That is a question they both will have to answer. Neither had closure at their last encounter and this mission is their unfinished business. Can they both survive it or will only one be left standing?

This was engaging from the start, filled with action, suspense, intrigue, government deceptions, a past betrayal and an undead passion that is now a love/hate relationship. Forced to work together one more time for the greater good two exceedingly lethal operatives and an oriental shorthair make their way to Texas. The protagonists are kickass characters with a serious lack of trust who constantly challenge each other, the sexual tension between them was undeniable and had them questioning themselves.

This reader looks forward to reading more. What I didn’t like about this? That it’s being released as a serial, this reader prefers full books.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the publisher via NetGalley.

I love everything Lisa Renee Jones writes, but for some reason I’m just not connecting to Seth’s story. Don’t misunderstand me, the story is beautifully written and readers will most definitely enjoy it.

I'm not usually a fan of installment stories, episode releases, but this grabbed me. I love the authors Talk, Dark and Deadly series, so gave it a go, glad to say I wasn't disappointed. The back story, full of intrigue, mystery and suspense grabbed my imagination trying to figure out who was dirty, Seth or Amanda, was it the CIA, the mobsters, Ming, ........ looking forward to the next part of the story......
