I have read several of Tara Sivec’s emotional stories and have loved them all. She is an amazing writer, however, her RomCom, At the Stroke of Midnight blew me away. I laughed so hard and so much, my family kept asking me if I was okay! This book was just so much fun to read!

Tara Sivec takes a touch of fairytales, three down on their luck new friends, princesses and poles and takes them to a whole new level! In this book, we meet Cynthia, who has been living the dream of a perfect wife and mother. That is until it all comes crashing down when her husband takes off with all their money and the babysitter.

Now she is just trying to keep the bills paid and her teenager in check, neither an easy feat. But after attending a Halloween party and meeting neighbors with the same problem, could they have found the solution to their problems when they are mistaken for strippers? As the three woman, Cynthia, Ariel and Isabelle become friends and partners, we laugh so much. The three friends could not be anymore different, but when they realize they could help each other, their friendship and pocketbooks blossom. They are the best friends any woman can ask for.

Enter PJ, prince charming maybe? They need his help and advice to get their business going. Cynthia does not want to be attracted to him, but some things you can’t fight. I love the banter between not only PJ and Cynthia, but also between the friends. The romance is a slow burn one, but the story is captivating from the first page to last.

I laughed so much reading this story. It was truly enjoyable to read. This had a sweet and charming romance, but it also had a story about strong friendships. I great read with amazing characters and a story that will have you laughing out loud!

Only Tara Sivec can take Disney princesses and turn them into strippers and somehow still feel like it is a fun and progressive book.

At The Stroke of Midnight was equally romantic and hilarious, not to mention sexy.  Cindy is out of a bad relationship and her daughter is pulling away. Having been left to fend for herself with no money left to pay the mortgage or buy food with she, along with Ariel and Belle, decide to start a stripping business. I wasn't sure if this one would be for me but she won me over. It was at times silly and over the top but it was a fun escape from reality and I cannot wait for Belle and Ariel's books!

I’m a total sucker for fairy tale retellings; now throw in the added Tara Sivec spin, and I’m a goner.

The characters were funny, lovable, and completely relatable! My favorite part about this book was the friendship between Cynthia, Ariel, and Isabelle. Although it was very unconventional in the beginning, it’s also the friendship we all want with our girlfriends! The witty banter between them was perfect and I couldn’t get enough. I want just a little bit of the girl power they show by overcoming obstacles in their lives and showing how strong they really are.

I do wish we could have seen a little more of PJ and learned more about him. Besides that, he bothered me as a character in the beginning treating Cynthia in a way I don’t feel she deserved. However, he did change and I felt differently about him in the end.

Overall, this was a hilarious rom-com, that was lighthearted and would make the perfect TV show. Seriously, can we please have a TV show made from this series? Who doesn’t want Desperate Housewives meets Weeds on their screens?

I can’t wait to read Ariel and Isabelle’s stories! I already love them so much! I’ll be waiting very impatiently for them!

Note: Be careful when reading, on the timing of when you take a drink. There are moments where you may spit your beverage all over your book or e-reader.

This is a romantic comedy that is a play on the Cinderella story. A rich housewife (who formerly had a stepmother and 2 stepsisters) is left by her husband when he takes off with their babysitter and all their money. So Cindy and her 2 new friends (Ariel & Belle ... guess who's stories they take after?) get mistaken as strippers. Realizing that this could be a way for them to make money, they start up a Princess stripping business for home parties.

This is a light-hearted, hilarious romance. The situations Cindy puts herself into are so cute because she was such a snob in her former life with her husband and then she pretty much becomes the opposite! And PJ really is prince with the way that he treats her. A great start to this series about the wayward princesses.

This is a great book; this is the first book in the Naughty Princess Club series and is written by Tara Sivec. This is a great new series if you haven’t read this author before you are missing out. This book is hilarious and I love that is has a Disney adult twist to it. Cynthia was the perfect house wife that is until her husband left her and took off with the babysitter and all of their money. Dressed as a princess at the annual Halloween block party on Fairytale Lane, she meets two other “princesses” also facing money troubles: antique store owner Ariel and librarian Isabelle. When the women are invited to wear their costumes to a party where they’re mistaken for strippers, Cindy, Ariel, and Belle realize that a career change could be the best way to make their money problems go bippity-boppity-boo. The problem is none of the women have ever stripped before, so they go to a local strip club to learn from the manager. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

How do you pick up the pieces of a broken marriage when you have given it your all? Cynthia has devoted her whole life to being everything that her family could desire. From heading up the PTO to making dinner every night, everything was centered around being the ‘perfect’ wife. Now Cynthia is faced with the stark realization of what happens when you are left completely on your own device.

After her husband ran off with the babysitter, Cynthia finds herself lacking the job skills to make it in corporate America. With no income, surmounting bills, and no relief in sight – Cynthia is grasping at straws on how to keep a roof over her children’s head. When Ariel comes barreling into Cynthia’s life, and unusual friendship forms from the betrayal her husband left behind.

While indulging in the annual block party, Cynthia also crosses paths with Isabelle. The three ladies form an unlikely pair. All struggling with money woes. While parading around in their costumes, the ladies encounter a neighbor that offers them a chance to earn a little extra cash. With stars in their eyes, the ladies failed to realize that this was no children’s party they had been invited to. In fact – they were there to provide some much needed entertainment of the Fairy Godmother kind.

Fairytale Lane will never be the same now that these three ladies set out to find a way to overcome the odds. Money is the root of their desire, and it is a no holds bar attitude that fuels the trio into some interesting situations. The trek towards independence and love will provide some interesting and crazy antics that will thrust Cynthia and her friends into a world they never would have imagined!!

Get ready for the newest series in the Tara Sivec empire…..At The Stroke of Midnight!! A modern twist on the traditional fairy tale, this novel will have you spitting and sputtering with laughter. The antics of Cindy, Ariel, and Belle will definitely thrust you into life on Fairytale Lane with a smile on your face and laughter in your heart.

Let me tell you that I was seriously cackling out loud. The antics of Cindy and her friends kept me on the edge of my seat and snorting hysterically. An unexpected treat when one thinks about fairytales!! Tara Sivec has always known how to get a laugh out of her readers, but At The Stroke of Midnight is absolutely unique with its content. An amazing start to the series!! While this book kept me laughing anytime I thought about the antics of the residents of Fairytale Lane, it also has me curious where life will lead for the residents. No doubt it will be a wild ride that I fully intend to take part in!!

If you were a fan of the author’s Chocolate Lovers Series…then you better add this ‘baby’ to your reading list!! A must read rom-con that is sure to make you snort with LAUGHTER while enjoying the crazy antics that Tara Sivec is known to include in her novels. I live for a good rom com and Tara Sivec has just exceeded all my expectations with At the Stroke of Midnight, book #1 of the Naughty Princess Club series.

Cynthia has hit rock bottom and when she meets Ariel and Belle, the only way to go is up, right? With an entire cast of characters right out of a fairytale, this hilarious story about coming to terms with life and finding yourself again is one of the best things I’ve ever read. These ladies are about to turn life upside down and come out stronger than before!

I adore this book and truly cannot say enough about it. While it’s absolutely hilarious, it speaks to so many things that women face. Single motherhood, lost identity, making ends meet any way necessary, body issues...you name it, Tara Sivec has covered it all in this book in the most refreshing way I have ever seen. There was so much depth to the story and such relatable struggles but yet it is so funny and raunchy, this is definitely a story I’ll be going back to read again and again. I cannot wait for the next one!!!!

Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a total Dis-nerd. I grew up loving the Disney Princesses, and I never outgrew that. So, anytime I hear about a new book that hints of Disney Princesses or fairy-tales, I jump on a chance to read it! Sadly, there are some that either lost my attention, or were too similar to another story-line, and I lose interest. Tara has taken these tales and put her own unique stamp on them, and I LOVE THEM!

This new series is starting out on a high note, with Tara's signature wit and charm, coupled with the fact she's f*%&ing funny!The right blend of comedy and drama, sweet and vulgar, this book is one I will remember for a long time to come!

How many of us grew up buying the story that the princess needing saving, and the white knight was going to run in and rescue them? Although a good tale, this is not what you are getting with Tara. These women are strong, independent, but still with a vulnerable soft spot that needs nurturing. They have the means and ability to rescue themselves, and they are doing what they have to do in order to save themselves and their family.

The hero, PJ, is the anti-Prince, or so it seems. When he and Cynthia first meet, there are sparks, and not necessarily the good kind. Friction between the hero and heroine is my crack! I loved the push and pull of their relationship! And the steam was practically a palpable thing in the room. Once or twice, I had to put my Kindle down and walk away to cool down, it was so hot!

Another aspect of this book I loved so much, was the relationship between the princesses. They had each other's backs and were always looking out for their best interests, while making sure not to step over the line of sticking their nose too deep into each other's business and controlling them.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and it will definitely be one I re-read multiple times!

I will never be able to look at Disney princesses in the same way again! Princes either, considering PJ is a prince himself.

The best thing about this book is the characters. As always, Tara gives us a band of characters that we fall in love with instantly. How can we not? Hot, swoony-worthy men, and spunky, strong women.

This is one is a little angsty, feisty, emotional, and a lot of funny. From the characters to the plot, I didn't want to put it down. This book will make you believe in real life fairy tales.

My favorite RomCom series is without any doubt the ‘Chocolate Lovers Series’, I love the craziness, the hilarious antics and the in-your-face characters. The author’s last few books I’ve read where far more serious and dealing with heavy subjects, but with At the Stroke of Midnight Tara Sivec is back with a charming RomCom. I simply love it.

“A lady never shows her emotions. A lady should also never lie, but under the circumstances, it’s better this way.”

The past 13 years Cynthia has dedicated herself to her family; her husband, daughter and the house were her priority. When hubby-douche decides to run off with the babysitter and leave a financial mess behind, Cynthia is hurt and angry. Hurt that he left, and very angry for the mess. Keeping up appearances has been her go-to, but Cynthia can’t continue this way. With the help of two new friends and a new love, she embraces her true self.

“I’ve never been kissed like this before, so hard and gentle all at the same time. His warm, soft palms still hold my face in place, but his lips are bruising, and his tongue should be registered as a weapon of mass destruction for how perfectly it slides and pushes against my own.”

At the Stroke of Midnight is the first book in the ‘Naughty Princess Club Series’, and it’s a true RomCom. Yes, not everything is funny, but overall, it’s a light story with a great set of different characters. The way Cynthia and her friends Ariel and Belle handle things is funny and charming at the same time, they make me laugh and shake my head. I can’t wait for the two other books in the series, and to get to know more about Belle and Ariel.

Cynthia life is falling apart, so feelings for a man are not on her mind. But in the midst of the chaos she meets someone special. PJ is the complete opposite of her ideal man, but it turns out he’s everything she needs. I love Cynthia and PJ together, and I love how PJ supports Cynthia with her new career. Although this is the story of Cynthia finding new love with PJ, it’s much more the story of Cynthia finding herself again. I love the real Cynthia.

“Are you really in love with me?” he whispers. I nuzzle his hand before looking back up into his eyes. “Of course I am, you idiot. I’m so in love with you it scares the hell out of me.”

This book was just pure fun from start to finish. Okay, it may not have been pure, but it was certainly an entertaining read. At the Stroke of Midnight is a clever and amusing story that follows three very different women as they forge a friendship and a new business partnership.

While this is a romance at heart, I think that I was equally swept up in this unlikely friendship that formed between Cynthia, Ariel, and Isabelle. This book introduces us to all three women, but this particular book focuses on Cynthia. Cynthia was a rags to riches story. Coming from an unhappy, impoverished life, she strived to be the ideal wife, mother, PTA President, neighbor, and bake sale maven. But while she appeared to be the picture of perfection, her life was falling apart. Her husband didn’t turn out to be quite the dream come true that she had originally hoped he would be. Nope. His armor was about as tarnished as it could be. He not only left her for their babysitter, but he left her practically penniless and with heaps of mounting bills.

What does a thirty-two-year old woman do when she needs money but has no college education or work experience? Well, she steps out – very far out – of her comfort zone and partners up with two other women who are in desperate need of some fast cash. These three women, who couldn’t be more opposite, team up to start a stripping business. What ensues from that endeavor is nothing short of laugh-out-loud mayhem and hijinks.

Tara Sivec has created a story that is Disney Princesses Gone Wild meets Desperate Housewives. From the chapter headers to the story itself, it was brimming with hilarity, girl power, and heart. It was impossible not to root for this trio of women. Between watching Cynthia break out of her shell and come into her own, Ariel’s tell-it-like-it-is, unfiltered potty mouth, and Isabelle’s cornucopia of random facts and trivial knowledge, this story was just a fun-filled romp from beginning to end.

*4 Stars

Cynthia's life is falling apart before her eyes. Years of being a housewife and heading the PTA have not prepared her for suddenly being on her own and having to solely support herself and her teenage daughter. When she meets up with the two most unlikely of allies, Cynthia's boring beige life is about to implode...

Between the three new friends, they begin to strike up a brilliant business plan... princess... strippers?! Now, all Cynthia has to do is learn to dance... and somehow get her self confidence back...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hilarious, smoldering and sexy. At the Stroke of Midnight is the first utterly fantastic book in the Naughty Princess Club series, and it has me desperately waiting for more!
When Cynthia's ex left her, he not only pulled the proverbial rug out from under her, but he also emptied out their bank accounts. She is at the point of desperation now that she is running out of things to sell for money to pay her bills and provide for her daughter.
While hatching her business plan with her friends, Cynthia has one very big thorn in her side, by the name of PJ. He is sexy, and kind of a jerk. He not only assumes she is just a bored housewife in need of excitement, but he makes it his mission to convince her she doesn't have what it takes to be a stripper.
Cynthia and PJ's encounters are at a constant simmer of sexual tension and awareness, and when they break... it is freaking glorious.
I couldn't get enough of this book. I laughed out loud, I loved every second of the unlikely and genuine friendship that was formed in the naughty princess trio, and I came away from it all feeling... empowered.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy from NetGalley for my unbiased opinion of the book. I loved this book!! I cannot wait for the next book to be released!! I flew through this book. Cynthia gets dumped by her husband Brian for the twentysomething babysitter and skipped town with a good chunk of his parent's money and all of hers. She lives in Stepford wives type of neighborhood with all of them whispering behind her back. She finally cracks at a Halloween block party function when Ariel and Belle confront Cindy by telling her she had an affair with her slimeball husband about six months ago. Cindy is running out of cash and fast. The three girls band together and take the income lead to perform at what they think will be a little girl’s birthday party in their Cinderella outfits. It turns out they were hired to strip for PJ at his birthday party. After running for their lives and embarrassing themselves, they take a good look at the possibility of hosting Cinderella stripper parties for profit. It turns out the birthday boy is a strip club owner and figures he will scare the woman away by inviting them to the strip club. It ends up having the opposite effect. The girls go full steam ahead and what a hilarious adventure it is!! You will not be able to put it down or stop laughing!!!!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
This is the first book I've read by Tara Sivec.  I know...where have I been?  Well...reading everyone else but apparently.  I'm making up for it now though.  This new series by Tara is hilarious!  There's one character in this trio that says the most off the wall funny things.  I was laughing so hard at times one of my kids asked me what was so funny.
This book's focus is on Cynthia (Cindy).  She's newly divorced and her inlaws are blaming her for stealing millions from their company.  One she's never worked for ever.  She's always stayed home and played the perfect housewife.  The one thing that irritates me about her character is she doesn't stand up for herself in the beginning.  She's a shell of a person it seems she was before she married.  Though that eventually changes.
Her hero, PJ, is such a sweet guy.  He definitely takes a quick liking to Cindy...but they get off to a bit of a rocky start.  Not to mention Cindy is a little man shy with how her douche canoe of a husband has been.  PJ gives Cindy and her friends some instruction on how to get their new stripper party business started.
I'm telling you - hilarious.  You'll just have to read it to see because no review of mine can do it justice.  Definitely add this one to your list ASAP!
4 'CHARMING' STARS!£
At the Stroke of Midnight was a hilariously witty, sassy, and sweet modern retelling of the classic fairytale, Cinderella but with a twist only Tara Sivec could pull off!!
The Naughty Princess Club represents three very distinct women. Cynthia the uptight prude, Ariel the mouthy antiques dealer, and Isabelle the sweet and naive librarian.
Cynthia's (aka Cindy/Cin) world has been turned upside down. The once uptight stepford wife is now broke, divorced, still uptight and left to raise a teenager alone. She needs money and quick. But what's a princess without a prince? Enter PJ Charming. He's gorgeous, successful, and the owner of a gentleman's club. He's broody at times and very protective of the women who work for him. As you can imagine Cin and PJ constantly butted heads, but there was an undeniable attraction between them that was very sexy to witness.
Meeting Ariel and Belle, Cindy forms an unlikely friendship. A one of a kind trio all about women empowerment. Together these three women decide to start a business together and become strippers, there The Naughty Princess Club is born.
It's been a while since I've read a book by Tara and I almost forgot about the comedic genius that she is. At the Stroke of Midnight was a romance packed with humor, an incredible friendship, growth, and transformations. The secondary characters definitely stole the show in this book, especially Ariel and her crudeness. She had me dying!! Though I found myself wanting more of an happily ever after in the first novel of Sivec's new fairytale retelling series, The Naughty Princess Club quickly became a favorite. I cannot wait for the other princesses' stories!
Meet the Naughty Princess Club: a brand new series from USA Today bestselling author Tara Sivec that introduces readers to Fairytale Lane and the hilarity—and romance—that ensue when three women start a new business to make it rain.
Once upon a time Cynthia was the perfect housewife. Between being the President of the PTA and keeping her home spotless without a hair (or her pearls) out of place, her life was a dream come true. Her husband was once her knight in shining armor, but now he’s run off with all their money…and the babysitter.
Dressed as a princess at the annual Halloween block party on Fairytale Lane, she meets two other “princesses” also facing money troubles: antique store owner Ariel and librarian Isabelle. When the women are invited to wear their costumes to a party where they’re mistaken for strippers, Cindy, Ariel, and Belle realize that a career change could be the best way to make their money problems go bippity-boppity-boo.
But can structured Cindy approach a stripper pole without sanitizing wipes? And could the blue-eyed anti-prince that has been crossing her path become Cindy’s happily ever after? At the Stroke of Midnight is a hilarious, empowering story where princesses can save themselves while slaying in stilettos.
I absolutely loved this book it was rom com heaven. I was up late devouring this book and I burst out laughing so loud that I actually woke up the hubby who was sleeping soundly next to me.
I’ll start by saying that I’m an absolute fan of Tara and her Chocolate lovers series is at the top of my fav rom com reads and this new series is right there with that series.
A clever and insanely hilarious twist on the fairytales that I grew up loving At The Stoke of Midnight had me laughing non stop.
Cindy, Ariel and Belle are all so different from one another but I absolutely loved this dynamic trio. Cindy is a bit of a stepford wife but things soon change and for the better in this with the help of her newfound friends.
PJ and Cindy these two start off on the wrong foot. Their banter back and forth at the beginning was definitely entertaining and as the story moves along the chemistry between them builds.
This is an easy five stars it was pure romance comedic gold. And I absolutely can’t wait for the next one.
It had been a while since I had read a book by Tara Sivec. I saw she had a new one coming and thought it was time to read another book by her. I didn't read the blurb. I just jumped right in and read this one. It was a fun read. It definitely has a unique story line.
Cynthia (Cindy) had a picture perfect life until her cheating husband stole money from his family business and left with the babysitter. Cindy seems a little lost at first, she's trying to find herself. I loved that we got to see her grow and find herself. She makes some great friends in Ariel and Belle. I loved Ariel. She kind of wild and give Cindy the little push that she needs. Together these three decide to strip. PJ owns a Gentlemen's Club. He is sweet and sexy. He and Cindy don't start off very good. At first he comes off as a jerk but he's really not. I was so rooting for these two. I can't wait to read of the Naughty Princess Club.
This was a laugh out loud story and made want a best friend like Ariel!
Cin/Cindy/Cynthia tries to cover up the fact that her husband left her for the younger babysitter, all their money and served her divorce papers. That was 6 months ago and she finally makes new friends, has an idea to earn money so she can pay the bills and mortgage and finds her Prince Charming!
This story was a great twisted re-telling of Cinderella (even though the stepmom/sisters don’t show up and are only mentioned in her retelling what her childhood was like).
I received this awesome e-book copy from NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review!
Tara Sivec is a surprise. I was taken in by her ridiculously on point sense of humor in one of her novellas. I fell into her fandom because of the Eye Candy anthology. I enjoyed it. I smirked and I added a bunch of her books to my TBR. But as most things on my TBR, her books got buried in the ever growing numbers. Until I saw a teaser for At the Stroke of Midnight...
The Naughty Princess Club has more than just a smirk inducing name going for them. These chicks, these badasses at heart, are the key to the world. Or at least the key to Tara Sivec opening your eyes! This wildly ridiculous, yet charmingly awesome book is filled with "did that just happen" moments, sailor talking princesses, and enough hormones to make teenagers run and hide.
Did I mention there's also the presence of a teenager who eats people's soul for entertainment? Silly me for forgetting that nugget. At the Stroke of Midnight is everything a princess could want in a romance book. It's full of handsy jerks, men behaving badly, a gorgeous hot business owner who makes women think "men climbing should be an Olympic sport". It also has a cast of characters that are bound to give you a headache from the whiplash, a case of heartburn from the worry, and a hangover in solidarity. What more could a girl need!?!
Oh you want more? Don't worry I can guarantee that the author has to write at least two more before she can risk being kidnapped and held hostage by wild men...right, Ms. Sivec?
