This is the second book in the new Poison Kisses serial, a spin-off of the Dirty Money series. They will need to be read in order. You do not need to know anything about the Dirty Money series to enjoy this one.

OMG, that ending! I could feel Seth’s panic; I could feel Amanda’s despair. I’m telling you. I was lying in bed with a heart monitor on and I’m worried now about what the doctor will say!

I cannot wait to get to the final truth and their HEA. They love each other, you just know they do; they just have to get past the BS from other people! At least, I hope it’s b.s. and I hope it’s other people…. Sitting on pins and needles and opening book three right now!

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted ARC, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

The author has kept me guessing in this short series but now we’ve reached the conclusion of their story.

Seth and Amanda know the truth of their past and now they have to focus on the security of the country.
A story full of twists and revelations. Lisa knows how to build the tension and keep the reader invested in the story.

4 stars!

*Poison Kisses: Part Two is the second part of Seth and Amanda’s story. It cannot be read as a standalone and contains spoilers for Poison Kisses: Part One.

Part Two picks up immediately after Part One ends. We now know and understand why Amanda disappeared and are left with several questions. Even though Seth and Amanda still feel the betrayal from before, the lust and love that is still between them is heating up. But before they can deal with their past, they need to figure out how to focus on taking down Dr. Franklin Ross.

When the book begins, the anger and hurt between Seth and Amanda is still very much alive and gaining each other’s trust seems like an impossible feat. However, as they open up to each other two different sides unfold and we slowly see the pieces of the past come together. The mystery and suspense is captivating, and I wanted desperately to know why things happened the way they did, who Seth and Amanda can trust, and who lurks in the background as new players seem to enter the game.

Trying to stop Dr. Ross puts Amanda and Seth together in intimate quarters and feelings from the past are front and center as they try to work through their complicated relationship. The sexual tension is palpable and there is no way they can deny the pull they’ve felt from the moment they met. The spark that once exploded between them years ago is now just as intense, passionate, and present as ever.

"'Yes,' she whispers and then we’re kissing, crazy-hot kissing, drinking each other in, like we’re never going to get a drink again. And maybe we won’t. Maybe one of us will die before this night is over. But that’s how we always fucked and loved. Like there would be no tomorrow."

I loved the way Seth and Amanda open up and the commitment to making their relationship work; however, just like in Part One, there is a major cliffhanger at the end that screws up everything. Up until this point we have seen Seth’s side of the story first-hand from his point-of-view. After the jaw-dropping bomb that is delivered, we are left questioning everything and Amanda needs answers. Finally, we will get to see Amanda’s point-of-view in the conclusion to the Poison Kisses trilogy. Part Three here I come!

Just a little side note: I love the way Lisa Renee Jones does a recap of the series so far as more books are released. It refreshes your memory so you can dive into the next book without forgetting what happened before.

Poison Kisses Part 2 picks up right where Part 1 ended. This story is all about getting the couple into position to be together and solve the mystery. Seth remains a little bit one dimensional but I didn't mind that so much since I felt like the story is more about Amanda and her journey out of hiding.

I got really tired of Seth calling Amanda Poison Princess. I got it the first time and felt like the author needed to use it sparingly so it would have the most impact. I enjoyed the couple working together from different angles to solve the mystery.

I recommend this story to anyone who likes a quick read in the mystery/romance category. I recommend just reading all 3 parts at the same time. I found myself reaching for my Kindle to read more which means I was enjoying it.

This was a great 2nd part to the series. I read it in one sitting and was absolutely dying to start the next part when I was finished. Their relationship grows fire hot in this installment and I can't wait to see where it goes from here. I have no idea how long this part was, but it read really fast and I felt like it was over in no time at all.

I received an advance reader copy of this book that I have chosen to review.

This picks up right where book one ends. Seth and Amanda can’t ignore the spark between them. They go right back to their intense affair and work together to stop the terrorist Franklin Ross. They also discover that they were both set up years ago. They both need closure from the past. And some answers are made, but to Amanda’s horror. This ends in a thrilling cliffhanger. Just love Ms. Jones’ incredible story telling.

The pieces are falling into place. They are falling, but whether or not they are falling into place has still yet to be determined. The second installment of Poison Kisses from Lisa Renee Jones picks up right where the first left off… the ominous voice mail from mom. Dun, dun, dun. Thrown back into the height of betrayal and half truths between The Assassin and The Poison Princess. Secrets, suspense, lies, and passion. Will Amanda Skye and Seth Care ever get answers? Their passion is intense, but can they get past trust issues and rekindle what was stolen from them three years ago?
I can’t wait for the final installment to get these answers and to finally uncover the truth behind this explosive tale of espionage and deception.

Seth never contended with the chaos Amanda Skye left behind so long ago. Despite the fact that he's still nursing old hurts, he's doing his best to complete the mission at hand. Her constant presence is a reminder of what they used to be. She tempts him more ways than one. If they're to succeed in ending what they started years ago, they're going to have set aside the animosity that still exists between them. As if that's not enough, they'll have to overcome the hunger and the constant attraction that flares whenever they're together.

Continuing where book one leaves off, part 2 doesn't disappoint. Things between Seth and Amanda have escalated. The chaos is still ongoing, though they're doing their best to maintain a level head. These two characters have so much going against them, yet they're determined in overcoming their adversities. Mind you, they don't quite trust each other, but they're willing to try when it comes to achieving a means to their own ends.

It's wonderful to be able to see old characters and new coexist. It makes me want to revisit previous stories and embrace these characters all over again. Such is this large world that Lisa keeps adding to every day. We get to learn more and more about what makes each of them tick. Not only that, but she branches out more on the trials and tribulations each has encountered throughout their pasts. In doing so, she conveniently ties up any loose ends that have been left behind.

Although Seth and Amanda's worlds have been turned topsy-turvy, it's wonderful to see that the passion they once shared still exists between them. They're working toward a mutual cause. One that will save the world and those they love when the time comes.

Will they achieve their goals? Who knows? Nevertheless, I can't wait to see what happens next.

This book is a continuation of its predecessor Part #1, so I advise you to start there before reading this book because it's going to contain spoilers.
After Amanda confronts Seth with a voicemail from her mother telling her "The Assassin" was given orders to kill Amanda and her parents, they both obviously still don't trust one another. But they weren't paired together to hash out past problems, but to neatralize and defuse a national threat, Dr. Franklin, with his crazy self. While they start to piece together who else is involved, how everything is linked to their past, and start finding a solution, Seth is coming to his own conclusions about some things but Amanda is still reserved about jmping on his bandwagon. Seth asks a colleague, Bear, to look into the supposed orders that he got to kill Amanda's parents and...
CLIFFHANGER!😣😣
Oh, well, I still enjoyed the mystery, the intrigue, and the chemistry that still lives between Seth and Amanda. I cannot wait until I can read Part #3!😄😍😘

Seth Cage still feels the sting of betrayal from Amanda Larke; but can he open the doors to his closed off heart and trust her again. Can they both share their secrets and learn that maybe walking away again is not an option?

The second in part in the Poison Kisses series is all about two people learning to trust each other and putting the other's need in front of their own. Oh.... they must find a killer, all while deciding if they are still enemies.

I personally loved this series and could not put it down. Love, Intrigue and suspense... perfection.

***Note - Poison Kisses is part 2 of a 3 part serial. ****

Poison Kisses Pt 2 starts off right where we left Seth and Amanda in book 1...

Amanda has just finished playing the voicemail message that was the catalyst for her disappearing for three years and Seth is adamant that she should have turned to him and not away... Trust, or the lack of it, is still a huge issue for the couple.

Even more mystery surrounds the events of that fateful night they last saw each other and although the passion that they had before is still very much alive, will they ever be able to believe what they had was real and not all just a case of smoke and mirrors or is any future for them just another illusion.

All the while they are dealing with their past they are still in the middle of their mission to find Franklin and stop him before he could carry out whatever it is he's planning.

I couldn't put my kindle down, I needed to know what was gonna happen both between Seth and Amanda and in the case that they were now deeply involved in.

Book 3 couldn't be opened fast enough!!

4*

This book is a bit different in the way it's being released, instead of one long novel it is being broken down into three novellas that can be read in an afternoon...at least that is how I have read it. Book one and two are available now, book three will be out the next week. It's up to you how you would like to enjoy them, separately or all together.

Oh boy, so much went on here but we still don't have any answers. We start off right where part 1 left off with Amanda's mothers message warning her about Seth and Amanda learns about what happened after she ran. I love he chemistry between Seth and Amanda its something that they can't resist even if they wanted to.

I have so many questions:
Is this threat something that can be contained?
What will have to happen for Seth and Amanda to get their HEA?
Who order the Kill order for Amanda as well as her parents?
What on earth is going to happen after this unbelievable cliffhanger?

I cannot wait to get the answer to these questions and so many more in part 3 because my original reaction after finishing part 2 was OMG that ending.....well really I mean h0ly sh!t Batman what a cliffhanger!!

To Trust Or Not To Trust.
I received Poison Kisses Part 2 as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Part 2 starts off where Part 1 ended. Seth and Amanda “love”, hate, and distrust each other. No matter what, they knitwear they need to work together to save the nations water supply. Both want answers from each other and the agency. Both Seth and Amanda have grown as characters in this part of the serial. They have increased their honesty with themselves and each other.
I am really enjoying this series. This was published as a serial and each part is a quick read.

Poison Kisses Part 2 starts off right where Part 1 ended. Amanda’s mother’s voice mail still hangs in the air between her and Seth. Sometimes taking a step forward requires taking two steps back. With these two, these words couldn’t be truer. They kept fluctuating between trust and distrust that even I got dizzy. But soon secrets are revealed and hidden truths are finally discovered and these two seem to finally get on the same page. Together, they become a force to be reckoned with and their enemies better watch the heck out!

Once again, LRJ brings romance and intrigue together in a wholly irresistible and spicy mix. I still can’t get enough of Seth and Amanda was still just as amazing as ever. Neither knew what it was to back down, which was a good thing because there was too much to fight for. I’m still rooting for their happily ever after and I’m looking forward to an explosive finish to the series in book three.

Poison Kisses: Part 2 was a great 5 star read.

We continue with part two of this great series and it is getting even better and more thrilling. In order to stay up with the series and not be lost I highly recommend starting with Part 1 first.

This is Amanda and Seth’s story, we start where Part 1 left off. There seems to be a lot of struggle with trust, secrets, lies and a huge attraction to each other. They have some things from their past that they need to work on as they work together to get to Dr. Ross.

We get flashbacks from three years ago and get a look at what went wrong for these two.

This is a great lovers to enemies and back read. Will they be able to work out their differences and accomplish their goal of taking down Dr. Ross?

This was a suspenseful on the edge of your seat read once again.
The secondary characters added a good element to the story. And of course we end on a big heart stopping cliffhanger, I’m excited to start part 3 to see how this all will be wrapped up.
Thank you Lisa for once again pulling me right in.

P.S. I love Amanda’s cat, a great way to remember Lisa’s beautiful cat Julie.

If you know anything about Lisa Renee Jones' work, you know that you truly know very little. You can guess, you can theorize, and you can hypothesize but you will never be 100% certain.

Poison Kisses is no different. Seth Cage is running the show...or is he. Handlers, poisons, and killers oh my! What's the truth, what happened three years ago, and why now?

I have no idea but I'm dying to find out!!!

This review applies to both Book #2 and #3

Seth and Amanda are still trying to stay alive and ahead of the bad guys seeking to kill them. They have a job to do and they must succeed or a lot of innocent people will die. As they continue their fragile alliance, the past keeps surfacing. Trust is not easy even though they love each other. This love/hate relationship will just have to simmer in the back burner as they try to find the elusive killer before he strikes again.

The story is enhanced by the 360 degrees outlook on the past and the present predicaments. Both POVs (Seth and Amanda's) further intrigue us into finding out the answers to all the questions and secrets. Great thriller with an ending that leaves us wanting more.

I am voluntarily reviewing these books. I thank the author for sharing a copy with me.

As stated at the beginning, in the incredibly helpful "what happened in the last one" section, this takes place immediately after the end of the previous book.

Seth and Amanda, at this point, we know they have a history and that he is planning to kill her, if she doesn't kill him first. He's the Assassin, she's the Poison Princess, and there are things they think they know about one another. And there are things they believe that are wrong.

I loved this book. I liked that it gave a little more of their history while giving more of the what is happening in the present. I liked the idea that these are 2 people who love each other...while believing it is possible that they may have to kill the other...or fend of an attack from the other. Talk about relationship stress...most of us just fight about dinner.

Again, Lisa Renee Jones writes a story that is engaging. As this is the middle of the trilogy, there are still things that are left unresolved when we get to the end of this book....

I loved her. She left me. She betrayed me but now it's time to open the closed doors. I'll tell her my secret if she tells me hers. Our history, is more than lies. It's our story, and I will do whatever it takes to reveal it all. I'm the Assassin, She's The Poison Princess. We're going to kill the bad guys, but we're still deciding if we're enemies. The one thing for certain, is we're both going to strip down and get bare.
***Part two of the sexy, thrilling three part Poison Kisses serial****
Review:
The second exciting installment in this three part serial. As I said in my review for the first part, these must be read in order. Each ends with a mini cliffhanger to keep you enticed until the next installment.
We get more into the story and into the relationship of Amanda and Seth. Lots of mysteries still to be solved. I have a feeling that there is going to be a lot packed into the last installment. One big take away is Amanda and Seth are super hot together and I cannot wait to find out who was behind their being pulled apart.

I have to be honest. While I love LRJ and can’t wait to get Seth’s story, I’m not a huge fan of breaking this into three books of less than 100 pages each. The only redeeming factor is that all 3 books are releasing this month.

So, I am familiar with Seth and enjoyed his back story, but at times the jumpiness of the plot was hard to follow. We have present day, but we keep flashing back to 3 years when he first meets the Poison Princess. In this installment we have more of the present threat and more back and forth of who to trust and who not to trust. Not sure if it’s the way the book is laid out, but there was more of the author telling us they had a connection rather than me feeling the connection. I can’t put my finger on it as to why I felt that way, but the characters weren’t as deep as I’m used to. I think it would have been better to keep it in one novel rather than 3 smaller novellas.

Hero 4 | Heroine 3 | Steam 4 | Plot 3 | Overall 3.5 Stars
Suspense | His POV | MF | cliffhanger | lacked depth
