I was taken since the first page! Everything isn’t quite what you think ,or is it. Kept me on my reading toes! I loved it. Enjoyed seeing a little cameo from a favorite previous couple at the end. Perfect epilogue! Definitely a must read!

Hidden Seams is just as steamy as you'd expect from Alessandra Torre taking on a fashion company. This book is a little taboo and questionable and yet I enjoyed it.

First, thank you to the author and pulisher for the ARC. I’m a big fan of her work, I liked the main characters and the story. I just felt that in the end it was cut short. Otherwise, it’s a good book and it could’ve been better.

I loved this book! Super cute. Will recommend for sure! This book was exactly what I didn't know I was looking for!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes! All the yeses! This is *exactly* what I'm looking for when I pick up a book.

I love the dual POV. I love the story line. I love seeing what Alessandra Torre will throw at us next.

I'm so sorry but I've come to the conclusion that this was not a book for me. I've never been able to finish it. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read it.

DNF -- I adore this author and her stories, but was unable to get into this one for some reason. I put it down to try again at a later date and I still cannot manage to get myself to fall into the characters or the story itself--and I can't exactly figure out why it isn't working for me. I figure it's a one-off and I'll gladly be picking up her next title.

This was just OK, it's not my favorite Alessandra book. I loved the narrators though in the audiobook.

I'm so sorry, but this book just was SO not for me. But I very much appreciate the ARC! And wish the author the best in the rest of their endeavors!

First, my apologies as I should have sent this a lot sooner and just realized that a number of titles I had marked as not reading were not also cleared off of my NetGalley page.

In this case, I was not able to connect with the storyline, and chose to not read farther than the 23% mark in the book.

As always, I appreciate the opportunity to read and review and I look forward to the next title.

Thank you,
Laura

The road to this review it’s been really difficult and full of obstacles, on top of that, I didn’t feel well this morning. Guess I need to do a health check on the area where I got surgery one year ago. Yeah, I hate these things. Gosh, I hate turning to the hospital again, even if I have to only a body check. Mine.

But let’s not derail from the main topic: the review of the wonderfully steamy and sexy novel “Hidden Seams” by Alessandra Torre. Avery McKenna is a tough woman, a woman who does a dangerous and life-threatening job: she’s a money launderer, and she does what she does in order to help immigrants to find job, usually illegal, and it’s in charge to pay them every month. She doesn’t know who her real father his, least her mother - an old woman who she has known only two years prior the beginning of the novel. The desire to get to know her father will lead her to most unexpected realization of all, Vince Horace might be her father and the photo she has, demonstrate it. Avery has never had a real family, she has been in an adoptive family that gave her everything material, but not the only thing she really desired: a true union between people who really cared for her, who did their best to put her at ease. Yes, the McKenna might have been rich, but they were cold and didn’t give her the affection she needed. On the other hand, Marco Lent is known to the queer world as the dominating male in the couple of him and Vince, a man so hot with a peculiar trait of his physic that won’t go unnoticed to the most attentive readers. Ten years have passed since Marco first signed that agreement with Vince, ten years in which a straight man was forced to pretend to be gay in order to be known in the fashion world.

Vince had given me the keys to his kingdom.
I had given him my reputation.
It had been an equitable trade in my eyes.
(Marco Lent)

But Marco Lent, under that façade of asshole and dickhead, is a softie. It will take a lot for this side of him to come out, because in the fashion world, everywhere, he is famous for being a dick... and this is something that can’t change. He meets this gorgeous woman in the alley of his mansion and almost hit her with his limo, after saving her, he will have the best sex of his life with this stranger. A sexy stranger who conquered his mind and body from the first time he laid eyes on her. The agreement he had done with Vince, the agreement that has given him his actual status and his billion-worthy residence and staff, begins to be questioned by Marco himself after that amazing sex with Avery. The feeling of being lost and with no directions, put aside by the fire that has sparked within him thanks to her.

It was a mistake, one that don’t make any sense, an act that occurred between the two worst people possible.
But I don’t regret it. More than that, I want it again.
(Marco Lent)

As Marco discovers who Avery McKenna truly is, he is shocked by his attorney’s call, who tells him Avery really might be Vince’s daughter. What started as a hot relationship based primarily on sex, will turn the events upside down, putting his secret in danger. Nobody, in the world, know that Marco is a straight man. The development of the events will change everything, but most of all, will make him realize that he wants a future with her. The big and real question is: will he admit of what he feels for Avery and announce that to the world, or will keep her a secret? A relationship that began from the sex, that will develop into so much more, something that will make both hope for a future together, under the light, with no secrets of sorts.

How could a person stay mad at a man like this? How could a woman keep her distance, protect her heart, and keep from falling under his spell? (...)
(...) A man like this could destroy my heart. A man like this will make every other man, every other kiss, and every other lover, seem weak in comparison.
(Avery McKenna)

The novel’s structured by the two different POVs of Marco Lent and Avery McKenna, allowing the reader to get in touch with the characters’ feelings and deep emotions. The focus on the story is the search, of Avery, of her biological father. A father she has never knew. And the fashion world, in this case, the empire of fashion that Vince Horace has built, and his legacy to Marco, but also his struggle to find his way in his new world without Vince, a world that seems pointless and empty without his partner in it. A struggle to keep a secret that might destroy his entire life and career at the same time.

As a first time with Alessandra Torre, I wasn’t disappointed. She is truly a great author, able to mix sex, and sexual themes, with scenes with deep meaning. And that’s a talent very few authors have. I’m so grateful to Netgalley, and above all, to Weapenry Co-Op to let me read and review this wonderful, this amazing book. I will also read Lingerie, the first one I had skipped without knowing it.

I salute you all with a quote from this book, and believe me, I’m struggling to find a quote that won’t be a spoiler for you. That’s really difficult, considering how much I loved this book. The five stars I gave to it on Goodreads, aren’t - weren’t enough for me. This is truly the best romance/erotica book of 2018, for me.
“He doesn’t know. He doesn’t know what it feels to not have a family or to have two adoptive parents who regretted their decision. He wraps one arm around my shoulders, bringing me closer to his side, and I accept it.
He doesn’t know, but he’s trying to.”
(Avery McKenna)

This was the second book I've read by Torre, and I have to say, this lady is a BOMB. Her writing aside, her stories have a mind of their own, and it's one twisted fucking mind. Incredibly witty and sexy too mind you, but twisted they are. I started Hidden Seams and I was unable to put it down because how could I?! Ugh, saying anything about the story, I might risk unraveling and unveiling the plot, so just believe me when I say that it is totally worth your time.

A well written of nice lenght. It has a nice story line and plot. The characters are well described.
I like the writing style and how it captivates the reader. You can feel the passion in the story and that the author has laid a lot of effort in it.
Marco is complex and Avery is a woman that knows and goes for what she wants. Great chemistry between the main characters.
The story has a mix of love, lust, passion, chemistry, drama, pain, independence and unexpected twists. It an emotional roller coaster at times. Fast paced in the beginning but slows a bit down towards the end.
Recommendable captivating read.

Today seems to be the day for me to catch up on some reviews that somehow slipped through the cracks. There will be a couple of minor spoilers in this review, I apologize in advance but I know I will start to rant once I start.

Hidden Seams is not one of my favorites by Alessandra Torre but it was a good read nonetheless, for me it felt as if it was lacking somehow. Don't get me wrong there was a good story line but I guess I just didn't connect with the characters. Avery helps immigrant women but not in most the charitable way because she is most definitely skirting the law, and Marco....well lets just say he has a secret and he is set on protecting the legacy of his mentor, Vince Horace.

I felt at times that Marco needed a good smack in the back of his head, I hated the way he continually said that he was going to stay away from Avery because of his secret and then yet again was with her, lying to her over and over again while sleeping with her. I guess you could say Avery was as well because she was keeping her own secrets but when she admitted to believing that Vince could possibly be her father I think Marco should have done a few things differently. And he didn't which made me mad. he was keeping a secret for the sole purpose of keeping his pockets filled. Honestly with the amount of money left to him he could have given Avery half of it and still lead a very pampered life.

There were plenty of sexy times between Avery and Marco but again I didn't feel the connection or chemistry. Sorry. I love Alessandra Torre's books and I think this is the first one that left me feeling flat. I would still recommend this book to readers that enjoy Contemporary Romance especially fans of Alessandra's because as I stated at the start this had a good story line, I just couldn't connect. Happy Reading!!!

Nothing is ever what it originally seems, and ambition has far reaching repercussions. Marco Lent is a man driven by success, his drive to be on the top leads him down a road not many would even consider. This decision is one oftentimes over the next ten years that he questions.

‘In this world, the designers are the gods and lives are choreographed, backs stabbed, promises, and threats made, all to try to climb onto one of those almighty thrones. I’m the worst of the bunch, and know the sacrifices more than anyone. The last ten years of my life has been orchestrated, a web of deceit and lies, all for one of those thrones.’

Avery McKenna lives a life of her choosing, walking away from her adopted parents and living her own life. She works hard to keep those she considers hers safe. Avery is tougher on the outside than some men I know. Growing up in Detroit has taught her street smarts and given her the opportunity to play with the big dogs.

One photo is all it takes to get Avery on a plane, jetting off to New York in search of her history. From the moment Avery and Marco meet, you can tell just how intriguing this one is gonna be. Of course, Avery bumps into Marco in such an original way that it’s pure genius.

I sat to read a small part of this book and before I knew it, I was seventy percent in and just couldn’t stop. Most of this book was read in one sitting, and I am so happy about that.

The relationship between Marco and Avery was a true back and forth affair. Tension, edginess, sass, and just enough heat to keep the reader flipping the pages, and who could forget Avery and her combat boots!

“You don’t know what it’s like to spend years searching every strangers face to see if their your father, to see if they are your father, to see if they bear any resemblance to him.”

Over and over whilst reading this book I kept asking myself, ‘how is it possible I have never read any of this author’s works before?’ This book personifies the grit, determination and lengths some people will go to get what/where they want to.

I loved the storyline and the steamy scenes. Not my typical romance read, but I enjoyed Alessandra's writing.

This was my first read by this author and holy heat! The charisma and fire and heat in this read was amazing! Strong independent characters with a muddled and intense background and how they can't stay away from each other was written just right. Addictive, delicious and one that couldn't be put down! Heck of a read!
