Alexa Riley is the go to writing duo when you’re looking for something short, sassy, angst free and with scorching heat. Claimed fits the bill perfectly. Longer than their quickies, this one has a bit of drama and mystery as well as suspense included. There is still plenty of insta-everything but this time there’s a friendship that developed before either of these characters showed their feelings.

Jay is smart and independent. She works hard and doesn’t back down when confronted by a problem or someone out to harm her. Jordan is a computer whiz and he stalks her via the security feeds at their place of work. He doesn’t try to hide the fact and Jay kind of likes that he does so.
Together this couple were so sweet and charming. Their chemistry was steaming and their possessiveness in regards to each other was equal. While the mystery might not have been all that mysterious, it added depth to what was a very enjoyable read.

I read AR to get out of my head, refresh my reader’s palate and satisfy my need for a sweet h, an alpha H, lots of heat, an HEA, and babies. Mission accomplished.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Carina Press. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dual POV
Safe – no ow/om drama

Jordan is a security expert and when he meets Jay Rose assistant to the boss it's love at first sight. Jay seems to put him directly into the friend zone. Jordan takes his times coaxing her to out of that belief. Once he does though things get hot. This book confused me at times. I liked Jordan and Jay but the intensity and focus of this story seem to slip from one extreme to another. I thought it was a contemporary romance but when Jay gets into some serious trouble things get extremely intense. Jordan comes across as this nerdy type in some ways and alpha in other ways. Jay is this strong woman who knows how to handle herself at work and then let's Jordan tell her what to do. I somehow still really enjoyed the book. I loved Jordan and Jay because they would do anything for each other.

Jordan and Jay were such a cute couple! We got the overly possessive, stalking Hero in Jordan that Alexa Riley is known for but he was also a bit shy at first. I was surprised to see our main couple have a normal, fumbling and nervous start to their relationship. They were adorable!

I'm not sure if shy is the right word I should use for Jordan. His and Jay's start to their relationship had him come off as the IT nerd who can't make a complete sentence in front of Jay, which puts him in the friend zone at first. In the background we get that protective but stalkerish Hero we all expect from AR. He's in IT, he's got access to everything. Enough said.

Jay comes off as the confident one until Jordan makes the move out of the friend zone. Then Jay becomes the nervous klutz and it was adorable! Their first date should have been a complete disaster but all Jordan cares about is being with Jay. Once Jay gets threatened, then his caveman really comes out!

I've always wanted longer books from this author. This is my first full length book of Alexa Riley and it didn't disappoint! I have not read the first two books in the series...yet, but you don't need to to be able to read this one. They are all standalone books that carry over some of the same characters. I really enjoyed this quick read. Jay & Jordan really work as a couple;they have such awesome chemistry. I loved his protectiveness of her. The story really flowed well and the characters were very likable. Equal parts sweet, funny and steamy.

I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

2.5-3 stars

Oh man... this one didn’t work for me.
Ok.... it took me a little bit to get into this book. I wasn’t really feeling this one. It seemed to drag.
And I wasn’t feeling the pace of this book. I’m 40% in and only a couple of sexual experiences have happened.... no actual sex yet.

Unfortunately... it just didn’t work for me. There wasn’t a balance for me. I think that’s why this book felt like it dragged. It wasn’t bad. But I just didn’t feel the rush I love to feel when reading an Alexa Riley book.

Then we have the main characters. Jordan really took his time with Jay. He was very unsure about crossing over the friend zone line. I’m use to these very alpha male leads in these authors books. So it was very hard to embrace Jordan standoffishness with Jay. It changes once they get together. But I never really felt he lived up to the possessive lead I’ve come to love in these authors books.

And Jay.... I had a hard time with her. I just wasn’t feeling her. She’s just not grabbing me.

This book wasn’t all bad for me... it had its moments. But overall.... it was just ok. I pretty much love most of Alexa Riley’s books. But I think I need to stay clear of this series if there’s more books to come out. I just don’t think this series is for me.

Claimed is by far my favorite book in this series and may even be my favorite book by the duo thus far - and that’s saying a lot since I’m a diehard fan and have read just about all of their books. There was just something about Jordan and Jay that I adored. It was the typical dynamic that I’ve come to expect from the authors: a strong alpha-type male obsessed with a petite quirky female (usually upon first laying eyes upon her). I think Jordan stood out to me because he’s sweeter and more mild tempered than other AR leads and I REALLY loved his backstory and relationship with his father and the part that plays in the story. The storytelling was done in a style very typical of Alexa Riley and was therefore very entertaining but I especially loved the inclusion of Jordan and Jay’s first meeting at the end of the book. It was the cherry on top of a very delectable sundae. 5 out of 5 wine glasses.

Incredibly sweet, full of funny moments and surprises.

This adorably cute novel is the perfect way to pamper your inner romantic. Friends-to-lovers romance at work, with a double POV that shows how deeply fascinated Jordan is with the woman of his dreams, and how adorkably eager Jay is to fall for the scarred man of few words she has lunch with every day at work.

Hilarious dates, infinite patience from a man with his girl, and welcomed appearances from couples in other novels n the series are just a few of the things I loved about this story. He's calm, resourceful. She's smart and assertive yet melts when he gives her syrupy pleasure. Those steamy scenes were enough to make you forget time!

Don't let the cute and lovely fool you, though. There's some gut-wrenching drama too, surrounding family and a danger lurking in the bowels of Osbourn Corp. The story grows so much more than I'd anticipated. I enjoyed how computer science was incorporated into the action. From cute to deep and meaningful, this romance encompasses true love, and the courage to let go of it to love even more. Beautiful all throughout, even that inspirational epilogue that feels like paradise :-D

Alexa Riley is one of my favorites. Claimed is a good solid romance with heat. Jordan an Jay are perfect together. Jordan is your typical guy but when he meets Jay, he is head over heels in love and lust. Jay is a workaholic with not time for romance but that doesn't stop Jordan. Good well-written story with an interesting plot.

Gahhhh sweeetness overload!!!!

This dynamic duo never fails to grab my attention with their smutastic stories.

I luuuurved both Jordan and Jay as character! just bloody adorable. They start off as friends all cutesy with a crush that they think is a secret when in reality everyone but them can see it!. It's a slow burn romance.. teasing us mercilessly throughout with fiery chemistry and adorable sweet moments. Together they just melt me! They had zero luck when it came to dates but bless them it was freaking hilarious reading the shit that happened, like tears rolling down my face hil-fucking-arious.

Definitely one of my favourites from these authors!. It's has those swoon worthy moments that have you sighing in utter satisfaction. You have humour by the boatload and a little suspense/action to keep things interesting. Great chemistry between all the characters and a nice pace to the story. It's written seemlessly with a little of everything so as per usual I have zero complaints. Another fabulous story.

I kindly received this ARC from the publisher via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Jay and Jordan...such a sweet pursuit in this story! I’m not sure why the author chose such confusing names, but Jay is the female, Jordan is the male, and together they make a great couple.

Jay is a type of character I love to read. He’s plain NICE! That’s such a rare thing anymore. There’s no silent alpha brooding and rudeness here, but make no mistake because this is a MAN. He will do whatever it takes to keep Jay safe and happy.

Jay is a likable character, too. She adores Jordan. This is the kind of book that will leave a smile on your face.

There is some danger in the book and being a Riley book, lots and lots of intimate scenes. This book is a quick and enjoyable read.

Jordan was a typical alpha and sweet to Jay! Jay was strong and also sweet! I loved Pops! He was a great character! I loved this book!

Jordan and Jay are EVERYTHING. They're adorable and sexy and smokin' hot and when things turn bad, they keep their wits. Okay, maybe they had a moment or two where they gave into their doubts, but they rallied and pulled through. *draws glitter hearts around them*

Jordan knows Jay's the one for him the first time he lays eyes on her. Likewise, Jay feels a powerful attraction to Jordan. They both keep it under wraps, though, because they don't want to mess up their friendship. Then all the pieces click and suddenly they're a couple.

An adorable, sexy, kinda possessive, but still sweetly awkward couple. I <3 them so hard.

When a bad set of circumstances lands Jay in a volatile situation, Jordan rallies the troops (well, the troops are rallied whether he was the one doing it or not) and sets out to make sure the woman of his dreams comes out of it in one piece. I must say, I love a well-oiled team and the Osbourne Corp crew are just that.

With all the trademark highs of an Alexa Riley love-fest, I <3 this book HAAAARD!

I can't say enough how much I love Alexa Riley's books. I have them all and have read, and reread, them so many times.

I love that the series is continuing with Jordan and Jay. I hope they write about everyone in the Osbourne Corporation just so the series never ends! lol Jordan is the computer hacker for Osbourne's security team. Jay is the personal assistant, right-hand woman to Miles, the president of the company. As per usual, it was insta-love when Jordan met Jay. Of course it took a little while of being friends before he made his move but it was worth it!

Likeable characters, great story, fantastic book!

➳Insta-love is always the specialty of AR, but this love story has gone to the next level of geekiness and romance that I am addicted to...

➳Jordan and Jay officially have a special place in my heart when it comes down to the whole inst-love romance. Starting off as friends because they cannot share their mutual feelings towards each other, Jordan and Jay have found a way to interact with so much tenderness and love. For Jordan, Jay is the one and only that he wants to spend every single free time he has with her and the rest of his life with. Though obstacles come in the way of their love, they both make their way towards each in a way that also brings joy to the rest of their environment.

➳I am not one who always likes so much drama in a story, especially for one that is by Alexa Riley, but the drama in this story was definitely something that kept everything balanced with the romance part of it all. The angst between Jay and Jordan is also present, but it diminishes once Jordan finally admits his feelings towards Jay.

➳We also get a more in depth insight of the previous characters in the series such as Oz and Mallory and their "post" honeymoon phase, but in reality their phase never stopped since Oz is addicted to her. Overall this is a romance story that can be described as different in comparison to the other short stories that AR has written and will keep writing, but it also has that same vibe of insta-love, alpha, possessive males who just want to devour their soul mate. Call me crazy but I love that about AR and I cannot wait to read more on their story. Thank you to Carina Press & Harlequin for sending me an ARC of this beauty!

A pure AR insta-love story, This is the third story in For her series but can be read standalone. I enjoyed Jordan and Jay chemistry and romance . Throw an alpha hero with a sassy heroine what’s not to enjoy. All the stories in this series are great and sweet & sexy read ; but the first book in the series “ Everything For Her “ is still my favorite .

This was the latest book in the For Her series--and my least favorite. I rather liked the first one, less the second, and the novellas are just not very good. The story seemed rushed and kind of like an afterthought. It wasn't bad, but I found myself rushing through just to get to the end. I liked it enough that I would read the next in the series--with hope for a turn around--but not enough to re-read anytime soon.

This is the final novel in the For Her trilogy, and I've truly enjoyed each and every one, though book 2, His Alone, is still my favorite! I really liked the main characters in this story, and the suspense plot was much more in depth than in the others, so that was an interesting change as well.

Jordan Chen is part of the elite security team at Osbourne Corp. He mostly deals with the computer aspects of things, as he's quite the hacker. He's always kept to himself, and doesn't have a ton of friends. He's really close to his dad, and visits him every week. He's never really had a strong connection to a woman though. Then, one day, he has to deliver some papers to the company's CEO, and he sees HER, Mr. Osbourne's assistant. He knows right then she's meant to be his. But, he doesn't really know how to make that happen, so they become friends. But he desperately wants more.

Jay Rose is the right-hand woman/assistant to the CEO of Osbourne Corp. Everyone has to get through her to get to Miles Osbourne, and many don't take kindly to her because of that fact. She's a big talker, and she can bluster her way through most things to get what she wants. But, she's become a bit of a workaholic, and she doesn't have much of a social life due to that fact. She's also not close to her family, as she's so different from them. They are all flighty hippie types, where she's always been Type A. When she meets Jordan, she's excited to finally have a friend at work. Even if she would really love to be more than just friends.

Jordan and Jay have great chemistry, but when Jordan finally decides to go for asking Jay on a real date, everything seems to go comically wrong. Their dates keep getting ruined for one reason or another, but they're both determined not to give up. Some of the situations they find themselves in are downright hilarious, and I was really enjoying laughing along with them. It's not often you get so much humor in what is ultimately a romantic suspense story. The suspense plot here was a little convoluted, and was much more prevalent than that portion has been in the other books. But, it was exciting and the stakes were quite high, so it was enjoyable.

I loved getting a little more insight into some of the other security guys, as we've only really learned about Ryan and Paige (from book 2) before. I'm hopeful maybe some novellas might show up down the line for the other guys, as I'd love to continue to get peeks into this world. I also really LOVED Pop, Jordan's dad. He was a great side character, and was so lovable. I enjoyed seeing Jay and her sister trying to form a bond as well. It was nice to see women who weren't competitive with each other trying to form a real connection.

Jordan and Jay really complemented each other and I loved seeing their relationship form and cement itself, regardless of outside forces. I liked their banter, and their sexy times were fun and exciting too. I mostly just love when a hero is ALL IN with the heroine from the beginning, and that definitely describes Jordan, and all AR heroes for that matter! It's one of the things I love most about their books: insta-love, OTT, obsessed heroes and the heroines who love them.

I definitely recommend this series, and this book as well. If you're a fan of the author, or even just a contemporary/romantic suspense fan, there is a lot to love here. I look forward to whatever new series will be coming from the authors.

4.5 STARS!!!
Claimed was such a great romance read. It was absolutely enjoyable! Jordan and Jay were perfect for each other. The chemistry between the two was off the charts and there was no denying the attraction. Jordan was sexy, charming, thoughtful, protective and so, so sweet and caring. He was such a great son and I loved him even more for it, on top of being a great man.

"You're not the kind of woman that gets one night. You're worth a lifetime." (Swoon moment)

Jay was a sweet, thoughtful and a strong character. Although, she had her moments of clumsiness which was funny at times, she wasn't perfect and that was okay. Her sister was definitely a handful. This story had the perfect amount of romance and suspense. This book made me smile, laugh, swoon and had me on the edge of my seat, and I enjoyed every moment of it. I definitely recommend this book to romance lovers that enjoy a good bit of suspense within their story and I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future.

It’s no surprise that I’ve often complained about the brevity of the dynamic (and instalove) duo Alexa Riley’s stories. The novella-length and even shorter tales they weave have tended to be—in part due to the length—full of alpha males who take over their women so thoroughly that they sometimes consume them whole, developing tunnel, caveman vision to the point where they see nothing but the words ‘mine, mine, mine’. It’s ‘crazy love’, as a villain in ‘Claimed’ says, or devotion so complete it could well be religious—a style that any Alexa Riley reader needs to get accustomed to first.

But Riley’s full-length stories, in the ‘For Her’ series at least, have gone a long way to ease this somewhat extreme vision of theirs, as the plot—as well as the action—unfolded and stretched over chapters rather than mere paragraphs. The drawn-out storytelling is a boon in this case and the burn between Jay/Jordan more believable because of it.

Yet if I thought ‘Claimed’ started out quite well, the story and characterisation faltered for me as the pages wore on. I liked the initial awkwardness between Jay and Jordan, even as Riley pushed their relationship straight into the deep end rather quickly without much angst at all. And while Jordan was quite the bossy protagonist to remember, what I couldn’t quite get was Jay’s seeming inability to use her brains around Jordan—her total dependence on him, her concealment of the threat pushing her into TSTL behaviour, her helplessness later on—and her sudden pliancy when it came to just becoming a passive taker as she got in deeper with Jordan. That said, a caveat: my confessed preference for stronger, take-charge heroines is definitely showing up here however, particularly since Riley has written some suspense into the story but not too much that it overwhelms the romantic elements in it.

While ‘Claimed’ isn’t my favourite of the series, it’s one I jumped onto because just the thought of a full-length Alexa Riley story is irresistible. Riley’s iron-clad reaffirmations of HEAs (multiple epilogues!), over the top as they might be, do sometimes work out after all quite nicely—this book’s tooth-achingly sweet, drawn-out ending fits the bill.
