I was rather excited to go into this book with it being set in New Zealand at all, but within the first few pages I was already struggling. I loved the premise of the book and kind of expected the dates to be a lot bigger deal than they were, instead they seemed to be a mild inconvenience achieved throughout the course of one day. Which ultimately left a whole lot of book left. After that there just seemed to be a lot of discussion regarding the dates and what on earth to do next.

Now the writing itself was good and I found out afterwards it is actually the third book in a series, however it supposedly could be read as a standalone. I'm starting to think I have problems if I read any book in a series out of order as I haven't particularly liked any that I have read recently. I'm not sure if I would of liked this book if I had enjoyed the first two in the series but as I hadn't I found myself not really invested in any of the characters. The main problem I had with the book though was with Marissa. I could not get behind her as a character to the point she was seriously irritating me. Not the book for me but I still love the idea behind it.

First thing I will say is that this is the third book in the “Cozy Cottage” Series and I have not read the other two books. Somehow, I don’t think that this would change my rating for this book. But, Marissa’s friends seemed far more likeable and level headed, so I may have enjoyed THOSE two. I will also say that this book has received very good feedback on Goodreads… so, maybe it’s just me! I suppose you’ll have to read it yourself to find out!

I just couldn’t do this book. I finished it, because I can’t review a book that I haven’t finished. But, I didn’t really want to. The main character was SO unlikable! All she does is complain about other people and freak out over everything. Especially as someone who grew up overweight with low self-esteem, she just came off somewhat picky and judgemental.

I understand that she’s supposed to be commitment phobic, and that’s supposed to make her “quirky” but, she breaks up with people because “they have a pimple on their nose”, because “their dog licks their face”, etc. The most ridiculous of reasons. She’s whiny, she doesn’t really think of others, she treats these men who are going on these dates with her like they should know how privileged they are for being the chosen ones to go out on this “Last First Date” with her when all I could think was “… These poor guys. They could run… But, they’re not doing that. I feel sorry for whoever gets stuck with her!”

She also doesn’t seem to have any remorse for leading these guys on. I mean, they take her to nice places and plan this stuff for her and she doesn’t even bother to reach for her wallet or something when she knows she’s going to run off on them! If you’re going to be a jerk, you can at least pay for your meal yourself!

All I could picture is her strapping these guys to a big wheel like “The Price is Right” or “Wheel of Fortune” and spinning them, throwing darts to try to pick which will be “lucky” enough to be with her.

The guys were written pretty well. The attractive, level-headed, but artistic mortician Coleman, the cute, outdoorsy dog rescuer, Nash, and the sexy (but maybe not the brightest) body builder, Blaze. But, I just couldn’t get behind any of it.

The adventures of a group of girls as they pursue love. I found the premise of the girls all approving of the relationships a little juvenile but the story was still a fun exploration of young love and the support and friendship of the girls throughout the journey.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book and I am providing my honest review.

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

An easy to read book based around the central character Marissa who is so indecisive about choosing a man I'm surprised she was ever in the running for a second date from any of them. She is eventually convinced to select one of the 3 for a second date and falls in love with him until a blast from the past shows up to confuse things. Of course there is a happy ending, which I found surprising because of how much she messed her chosen one around.
I hadn't realised this was one of a series of books as it was a story that was able to stand alone so I am surprised the second storyline set at the office with a new girl causing problems for Marissa wasn't left for another book in the series because it could have been a good storyline on its own and expanded rather than the rather rushed way it was dealt with. I would definitely try other books in the series.

This is the first book that I read from the series and I was disappointed. I didn't get the girls pact. From the number of pairs, I could see that their pact is successful and the number of single ladies is getting smaller. The story just did nothing to me, the writing also. The characters were average. Marrissa was for me not interesting she was nothing special for me as a heroine. And a girl with few complex. I just saw this story as her transformation in a way accepting herself like she truly is. I did a lot of speed reading through the book because I was not interested in her job and also her dreamy exboyfriend was from the start someone who looks like an abuser and not someone to love. I cant say a lot about the one because we see him just a few times.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

This was a cute read! Book Three in the series and definitely my favorite. Marissa wants to finally have her last first date. So she goes on 3 dates on one day. Nothing can go wrong, right? Except bring in a Mortician, a dog-man and a bodybuilder and she has to make up her mind. Finally happy and who comes into her life? The Ex. Not good! This was a read with a big twist and it had puppies!!

I received an ebook copy from NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review.

A romantic story centered in the decision making and commitment issues of the main character. She has set a time frame to find her life partner, narrowing her decision to three dates in one day.

Three Last First Dates by Kate O'Keeffe is the 3rd book in the Cozy Cottage Cafe series, and a really fun book. Three friends are sick of dating the wrong man and make a pact to marry the next guy they date. This book contains Marissa Jones's story, and she schedules three dates in one day to find her forever man. If you enjoy fun romantic comedies, I recommend this book and this series. I laughed and giggled my way through this book. I will definitely read this author again.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Third in the series this is the story of Marissa, worried about the pact of marrying the next person dated she decides to hedge her bets and have three first dates on the same day and then pick the best of the bunch, but she didn't bank on her ex Eddie turning up 7 years after they broke up.... is there really unfinished business there or has she been hankering after something that never really existed for all these years!

Another light fun read, predictable but still enjoyable and great for reading on the beach

I received a copy of Three Last First Dates by Kate O'Keeffe from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was intrigued by the summary and really wanted to like this novel, but the storyline could have been pulled together better and the characters developed more (less flat). It was a struggle to continue reading several times.

Unfortunately, this book just missed the mark for me.

Eek. So far Marissa is the worst of the bunch here. Her described outfits are just heinous and focusing more on her hairdo than the fact that she's supposedly on a romantic date with the love of her life?

The storyline with Antoinette seemed unfinished. We never really found out why Antoinette did that to Marissa or how she felt after losing the account. Furthermore at one point Antoinette invites herself to Marissa's open mic night, then never shows up.

Marissa should not have been written as such a stupid person. She knew how badly Eddie treated her previously, yet continued to make dumb mistakes. Treating her "best friends" poorly by lying to them about the whole relationship and then questioning it when her brother finds Bailey attractive. All very juvenile behavior. I would not be friends with Marissa and I don't know why the other ladies stay friends with her.

I feel like Nash got the short end of the stick when getting Marissa. How annoying that she can't even wear jandals or sneakers when clearly meeting him at a park. The woman wears a white skirt, "flowy" blouse, high heeled sandals etc. Come on girl get a pair of sneakers.

Moreover this book has too many similes. "As nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs" "As nervous as a christmas turkey" just seems like bad filler.

This book was fast paced and warms your heart. Just a sweet tale about a woman looking for love and once she believed in herself, it all fell into place. I would definitely seek out other books by her.

Marissa hasn't really dated since she split up with her boyfriend Eddie 7 years ago. She arranges 3 last dates all on the same day, and in the end it is Nash she decides to see again. Things are going well until Eddie appears again, but does she still love him or just the idea of him?

This entire series is so funny, romantic, well written, and needs to be turned into a romcom immediately! I've spent the last couple of days reading the entire series and have loved every minute of it. I will admit this particular book was my least favorite of the three. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing book full of lots of laughs out loud moments and I love all the characters that have now become like old friends to me this week. However, this book focuses on Marissa and her search for the one and unfortunately I just am not as big of a fan of hers as I am the other girls. She's just too nitpicky and wishy washy for my liking and I was unable to relate to her in the same way that I did with Paige and Cassie. Luckily the rest of the now familiar cast of characters made up for what I feel she lacks in favorable personality traits, and allowed me to still enjoy the book.
