This is my second book by this author and so pleased I have found her books as they are such excellent reads. Full of fun and finding out who you really are and starting over again and romance and finding new friends and has you hooked from the first page and has you wanting to know what will happen next. Greta book to curl up and enjoy as such an amazing read. Has you laughing crying and humour and heartwarming as well loved it so much.
Maddie has lost her high flying job in London and needs to start again so decides to move to the countryside to start working for someone called Seth but the job isn't what she ought is was going to be and she's not sure she can stay but while leaving she crashes her car and Seth rescues her and takes her back. While she working hard with Seth she finds new friends but are they all hiding different secrets can they share them. While working Maddie starts unlocking the history of the farms original owner and she finds a painting that belongs to her and she realises she has to work hard to get this all off the ground can she do it and be happy and find her true self again and help Seth find himself as well.
A great read highly recommend anyone reading this and such a quick read to.

The premise here was confusing at best. Book opens with Madeline driving to the countryside, the reader is not informed why or where she is going. Then she randomly arrives at a hidden rundown cottage. We still don't know why at this point. Needs to be fleshed out more.

I felt the story just did not read well. It was all over the place in terms of plot and character development. Personally I did not find any of the characters likable and found it annoying how one character kept reiterating how odd she is because she has pink hair. Not exactly nonconformist these days.

Just couldn't connect with this book I guess. The ending was a big wtf.

4.5 stars.
Rolling my eyes at the main character of a book in the first few chapters wouldn’t usually end well but actually part of the joy of The Little Cottage On The Hill by Emma Davies is seeing how Maddie changes and grows.
She starts off not listening, being judgmental and condescending and completely ignoring what is around her but gradually the beauty and magic of the place (and people) does its job - and she turns into someone I wouldn’t mind being friends with.
Once again Emma has created a supporting cast who are engaging and immensely likeable – I can see at least three more spin off stories I’d like to read from this one book.
Described on the lovely front cover as a “feel-good romance” I’d say it’s pretty spot on, I definitely felt good once I had finished and the romance, though gentle, still had me sighing with pleasure.
This is a warm, sweet story, written in a lively way that makes it hard to take a break.
I loved learning the back story of the previous inhabitants and the way everything came together felt magical.
The ending left me with a massive grin on my face – although that was after a few tears (both happy and sad) too.
Another great book from Emma, I can’t wait for the next.

The story of Maddie and Seth, thrown together when Maddie accepts a job as a PR person on a project which doesn't yet exist. Both have issues and things they are hiding, and there are other twists throughout the book which keep you interested to know what happens in the end.
