The Country Wife is a guilty favourite of mine so I was over joyed that its being reprinting. Its a delightful romp that makes for a good comedy. Classics don't have to be heavy and full of meaning. This is a classic play that plays on all the stereotypes of love and romance and gives you a straight up bedroom farce that will leave you in stitches. It pokes fun at the foibles in love of both men and women. It feels very contemporary in so many ways. I highly recommend this for any adult that wants a good laugh and to escape to this delightful world of Restoration London that Wycherley describes.
