It's every parents' worst nightmare waking up to discover that the child they have isn't their own and that their real child was switched at birth as you have bonded so much with the original child. Six months ago, two baby boys were born at the same time in the hospital and there was a power cut and looks like the babies were switched and given to the wrong parents. When one of the babies ends up sick and the blood tests don't come back a genetic match it gets the hospital investigating and discovering the mistake that one of the nurses made. Each parent Liam and Shelby both love their child that they have been raising as their own for the past six months and couldn't imagine life without them. During the book, we also read as chemistry and sparks fly between Liam and Shelby who come up with the perfect solution to not losing either baby. Liam will propose to Shelby, can Liam prove to Shelby that he loves her and isn't just marrying for the sake of their children? That he really wants to have a family with her? During the book, we also learn about Liam's father and the fact that he too was adopted as a baby and the secret of his adoption and the situation surrounding it comes to light with a mysterious music box and letter that was written almost sixty years ago. Like all Harlequin romance stories, The Baby Switch was a genuinely sweet romance that showed the characters really caring for their babies and families and the love could be seen radiating from the pages of the story. If you loved the TV Show Switched at Birth as I did, then you will enjoy The Baby Switch by Melissa Senate.

It's a nice, well written story but I didn't feel any chemistry or sparks with the MCs. The romance was very lackluster and that is why I couldn't get into it as much as I had hoped. This was all about the kids and if you like these type of reads, you will definitely love it. I just wish there was a little more emphasis on the romance.....

Liam and Shelby get the surprise of a life time when they find out that their babies were accidentally switched at the hospital and baby they were both raising for the last six months weren't even theirs. Now they needs to come up with an arrangement which will work out for both parties. They weren't supposed to fall for each other or be the ones to find that music box that made them delve deeper into their family secrets but they will do everything in their power to make things work.
I just finished reading a day or two a book that was similar then this so I wasn't sure how I would feel about this but this book actually turned out a lot better then I had expected. This is a clean contemporary novel, it would've been nicer to be longer. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was how quickly everything did everything and how rushed it was when it came to the family living and marrying each other. I mean she doesn't know the dude shes lucky he wasn't an axe wielding murderer when he wasn't with his baby. I wouldn't exactly call this a romance novel there wasn't much of it. I loved the family drama that occurred in the book really kept things interesting. Overall this book was pretty good I liked it.

A wonderful 4 Star Book! The babies in this book are enough to captivate you alone! Lovely writing style and gripping plot line.

This is an incredibly sweet story (probably far sweeter than it has to be, given the plot and the fact that both people were relatively okay with it almost immediately. Like, oh, we probably each have the wrong baby? Well, let's live together for a bit until we learn that it's definite, and then we'll go from there. (This is actually probably a better response than threatening to beat the hospital staff to death, but maybe a less realistic one.)
But you don't read romance novels for realism, right? You read it for idealism. And this is an absolutely charming love story.
I've loved Melissa Senate's novels for years, since I first read See Jane Date. I didn't read her Meg Maxwell novels but I've read everything she's written under her own name. And it's good to know that her books are just as delightful as I remember.

This book will totally and completely break your heart in two so have some tissues handy! It is a definite MUST READ book that will have you so hooked that you wont be able to put it aside. Melissa Senate is an absolutely BRILLIANT author who has written a story that is so compelling you will feel like you ran a marathon when you finish reading it. It is a heartbreaking switched at birth tale with a gloriously uplifting HEA. Its been a long time since I've read a book that has made such a profound impact on my emotions. I received the ARC for this via NetGalley and I am voluntarily writing the review for this book. All opinions are honest and only my own. Regards: Anna
