Loved it! So great! This was a great read for me and I couldn’t put it down. I loved the author’s way with words and the way they entranced us in this world.

There was so much emotion thrown into this story! Jackson can’t reveal his true self. Sienna and Austin can’t be show their true feelings either. But somehow, this trio needs to keep it all under wraps for the sake of Jackson and Sienna’s careers. It’s a hard seven months they face. I had to grab my box of tissues a few times. 4 stars!!

This book had all the makings of a great story but for me, it fell flat. While both characters were likable their story was not. There seemed to be a lot of inner dialog by Sienna that just went on and on and on. I became really frustrated with her and then didn't want to read about her. I think this will be a successful series, just not for me.

Sienna Jones is finally seeing her acting career take off when her agent comes to her with a unique proposal. She has the opportunity to be action-star Jackson Cruise's girlfriend for 8 months to take the heat off of him after a photo shows him kissing another man. Jackson is gay and is worried that coming out would kill his career. In exchange, Sienna will receive $10 million dollars and the career boost of being seen out and about with Jackson. Sienna accepts, but finds that the attention is more than she bargained for. She is also attracted to Jackson's head of security Austin. Austin is also attracted to Sienna and he pursues her until she finally gives in and they sleep together. Shortly after Austin steps back and says that he needs to concentrate on his job and at that point, Sienna starts pursuing him. A month later Jackson's boyfriend gives him an ultimatum that he comes out or they are over. Surprisingly Jackson comes to come out which voice the agreement with Sienna and she is free to be with Austin.

I found Sienna a little flighty. Despite having the midwest work ethic and values, she can't seem to decide what she wants. And it seems unnatural for her only friends to be her agent and her agent's assistant.

A hot new actress is ready to take Hollywood by storm. No longer waiting on the sidelines waiting for her chance to achieve her childhood dream she is given the chance that changes her life forever. Although she continues to play a part in her personal and professional life she meets the one man that will definitely feed her every need with each lingering glance that threatens to set her on fire. He would change her world as her life becomes thrust into the limelight. Always loved Christina’s books and the depth of her characters that pull you into their world one page at a time!

Such an easy read. If you're looking for an entertaining read, this is great. The concept of celebrities faking relationships to conceal their true ones is interesting and extremely real. It makes you wonder how much is a show and how much is vulnerably real. I felt for Jackson. How sad it is to not be able to be with the person you want to be with, with all the criticism, judgment and hate from family, peers, paparazzi and fans. Though I would have enjoyed some sort of twist and turn - the story was sort of predictable - I enjoyed reading Jackson and Sienna's fake little story as well as the sizzling back story of Sienna and her true love interest.

I didn't really care for this story, I didn't feel invested in the characters.the love scenes were hot though.

Faking It by Christina Ross was not my kind of book. The characters were flat. They did things and took actions, often contradictory that were never explained or even hinted at. We here that the heroine is from Deluth over and over but we don't u derstand ANYTHING else about her background. The same is true about the other characters. We are to,d of their stardom, their success by others mentioning it but nothing is ever self revealed.
The story is ok. But also somewhat cliche.

While I was intrigued with synopsis of this story when I saw it on NetGalley, unfortunately the actually story did not resonate with me.

Do you enjoy everything Hollywood? Name dropping, designer labels, etc? If so, this one is for you! In that stereotypical Hollywood manner, there is an emphasis on looks, self-talk, expensive clothing, etc. even the relationship aspect between Sienna and Austin...everything seemed very predictable and at times, too slow moving. Details that were unnecessary for the plot development seemed to drag this story down.

So in the end, this was a “miss” for me.

Thank you NetGalley for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

Again I am going to be in the minority, but this book didn't do it for me. We have Sierra who agrees to be the love interest for Jackson who is gay and in the closet but was caught kissing someone. She agrees because of the money but ends up falling in love with Jacksons bodyguard but can not do anything because she is under contract. This book actually bored me, I hate to say that but it did, it dragged but we do get a nice ending..

Another winner for Christina Ross! I love the way she uses so much detail to paint a picture of her characters and all they do. Her style keeps me wanting more!
I received an advance copy for review, and this would have been a book I would have bought, devoured, and shared! Great charecter interaction, believable plot, and juicy sex scenes that were not over the top. I loved it and look forward to reading more of her sexy books!

I just couldn’t finish this one. The premise was so ridiculous, the dialogue so stilted. It was just a mess. No. Just no.

Jackson is an A list movie star that is photographed kissing another man. He and his agent hire Sienna to be his "fake" girlfriend to hide the fact that he is gay. Sienna needs the money and feels bad that Jackson hides the person he truly is because of his movie career. Austin, the bodyguard and Sienna have an instant attraction. This was an interesting story that I really enjoyed reading.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I've never read a Christina Ross book before, so this was a new author for me. I read the blurb and thought it was going to be a really great read and one I wanted to give a chance. Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed by this book and was honestly bored throughout most of it. It didn't really get good until about the 75% mark. Up until that point, it was filled with inner dialogue by Sienna that seemed to repeat itself ('I like Austin, but I've been in love and hurt in the past, so does he really love me and will he really wait 8 months for me like he says he will? But wait, I can't act on my feelings because I'm under contract and money is more important to me right now.' - rinse and repeat).

I'm also not big on fashion or Hollywood, so the never-ending details about someone's outfit or who was in what new movie or being featured in gossip rags was just unnecessary filler, in my opinion. But given the author's background, I can see why her passion would be featured in the book and I respect that, it just wasn't for me. Most authors also don't actually mention stars by name though, so I found it odd that the author did.

Now on to the actual storyline. Jackson is a big action star and is gay, but is closeted. Until he gets caught kissing a guy so now he has to try and combat the fallout by faking a relationship with the up-and-coming actress Sierra. Sierra agrees, but then falls in love with Jackson's bodyguard, Austin, but can't do anything about it since he's under contract to not see anyone else but Jackson during those 8 months (because somehow being in the same closeted situation 8 months later is going to change things for Jackson?....Yeah, wasn't buying that.).

It did drag on for a very long time, but I liked the moral of the story in the end - love is more important than any amount of money you make since money doesn't buy you true love, a family and friends or real loyalty. I liked that Jackson realized that in the end, and in turn, it freed Sierra up to be with her new love, Austin. I also respected Sierra for being a true friend to Jackson and speaking the truth about why he should come out. It was ultimately his decision, but Sierra spoke to him in a way that was caring, loving and real, just what he needed to have some sense knocked into him. And in turn, that speech made her realize how much Austin meant to her and how she wasn't willing to give him up - she was pretty shallow and all about the money up until that point it seemed.

Now, I didn't get the whole 'insta-love' for Austin and Sierra. That's basically what it was since they had only known each other 4 days before they were pretty much confessing their love. I mean they didn't even really know one another at that point since they had to keep their relationship a secret and couldn't even really see one another without risking a breach of contract issue. So I didn't connect with them that way and didn't find it believable.

The ending was sweet though - Austin was a tough guy, but he had such a soft interior that I loved. I wish we had gotten more about what Jackson was up to now and how he was faring. That was a bit disappointing since it played such a huge part in this book and why Sierra was even in the position she was to begin with. Even though I liked the ending and the turning point for both Jackson and Sierra, I don't think it made up for the lack of substance for the rest of the book. I'll probably give the author another chance, but I'm not sure I'll read any other future books in this series.

“Faking It”, by Christina Ross, is the beginning of her “Making It” series. Faking It, centers around the entertainment industry. We get to see Sierra who has worked really hard the past 8 years and its about to pay off for her. She has an opportunity to work with one of the hottest leading men in Hollywood, but there is a catch. She will be paid for agreeing to pretend to be Jackson Cruise, one of Hollywoods best action stars, girlfriend for eight months to calm down the speculation about his sexual orientation. This is not the dream job that Sierra had thought she was going to be offered…At this meeting where she is being offered this “job”, Sierra meets the head of Jackson’s security team, Austin Black, and she is completely taken by him. Whats a girl to do? Will she take this job? Can Sierra and Austin have a relationship if she is the pretend girlfriend to the hottest action star out there? Only way to find out is to read this exciting story.

My Rating: 4.5 stars *****
“I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
