I wasn’t a fan of the first book but this one was even worse. The editing was definitely not done well but more importantly, Julia can’t stop flip flopping on whether she wants to be with Jonas. This series felt way too much like 50 Shades, and not in a good way. I’m also not a fan of the cliffhanger that forces you to read the next book.

I received a copy of this book from
Netgalley for an honest review.

This is book two in a trilogy, which I didn’t realize initially. After going back and reading book one, and not loving it, I pushed forward with this book. This book ends on yet another cliffhanger, I don’t usually enjoy in any book. All the back and forth/will they won’t they was a little too much for me as well. To be fair, I can see why people like this book, it’s just not my cup of tea.

It has been three months from that terrible day when Jonas Fairbanks ripped her heart out, and trampled it to the ground. Devastated and heartbroken, Julia must find a way to move on with her life. But how? He gave her everything, and took everything from her. Her first kiss. Her dream. Her light. Her soul. Her heart—all with His Secret—a double life.
This was the first book I’ve read from this author and when I read it, I didn’t realize that it was the second book in a series. Therefore, I also didn’t know the author seems to like to end books in cliffhangers. As a devourer of books, I love and hate this. I hate the anticipation and the fact that I read so many books, I can only hope to remember to find the third (and go back and read the first) part to this series. Overall, I give this book a 3.5, but I think if I’d read the first part first, my rating would’ve most likely been at least a 4. I look forward to reading the other parts to this series.

Loved it! The story finally answers the cliffhanger we were left with in the first part. The story is so well written that it was hard to put it down. I love that suspense and erotism are mixed there as the book gets more spicy. If you are looking for a good read, this is definitely a book for you.

I enjoyed both books in this series. Really good easy reading. An interesting consistent story line all the way through. Will read from this author again.

I did not know this was the second installment when I requested it, after reading a few chapters I figured it out and stopped reading so I could read book 1. I was not disappointed!!!!! There were so many twists and turns that my head is still reeling!
The book was juicy and exhilarating right up to the end! I was questioning everything and everyone! I really liked the character progression and the ever-thickening plot! I am just upset that I forgot to read it because I got sidetracked, and could have read this masterpiece sooner! I cannot wait for the third book!
I recommend this book to anyone who loves intrigue and page-turning, nail-biting plotlines! There is also love, emotional breakdowns, and strife! This book has everything you need to fill your checklist for your next favorite read!

Thank you for allowing me to read this fantastic work of fiction!

Book 2 of this series finally answers some questions left from the Book 1 cliffie, but ends on yet another dramatic cliffhanger. At the end of book 1, Julia has fled from Jonas' life due to lies and a shocking (t0 her) secret, to finally pursue her dream of going to culinary school in Paris. But, she finds herself pregnant and alone, and is befriended by a stranger, name Luke, who she meets on the plane trip to Paris. So - do you see the plot twist coming...because I saw it coming a mile away. Normal people just don't up and take in a complete stranger they meet on a plane and let them live with them, and completely insert themselves into their lives. It. Doesn't. Happen. So, it seems like Jonas isn't quite done pulling Julia's strings, and before long he is back in her life. Then he's not. Then he is. Then he's not. Then he is again...but we have the BIG plot twist and the cliffhanger. I almost gave up on this book several times for a few different reasons. 1. I could tell what was coming and was getting impatient for it to get there. 2. The editing was horrific. While Book 1 was very well done and well written, this one has grammar issues, missed words, misused homophones, and even completely wrong words used. It's almost like it hadn't been edited at all. 3. Just like book 1, this story can't decide what it wants to be. There is a scene where Jonas and Julia go to a sex club, and it just seemed so out of the blue and random and didn't really add anything to the plot, at least for me. When Book 3 is out, I will probably want to read it to find out what happens and how this all shakes out.

This is the second book in the series. I recommend reading the first book before this one. Julia is starting over and meets a stranger named Lucas. He reminds her of Jonas. This book gave me all the feels and I couldn't put it down! It does end on a cliffhanger so I'm looking forward to the next book.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am honored to be able to read this book. I loved the first book with all the twists as each situation and character unfolds and continually unfold. There are hidden secrets and turns at every corner. I think the characters are well depicted and strong.
Was amazed that it was better than the first and can't wait for the 3rd!

Betrayal is the worst thing happening in a relationship, but misunderstanding, covering will lead to a deeper end.
Communication between two people is really important, without communicating, the relationship will crack apart.
Julia and Jonas both suffered from tragedy, Julia lost her parents when she was in her younger age; Jonas was betrayed by his ex-wife who committed a second-degree murder. This is the first book I read from this series and of course thanks to NetGalley for providing me a copy to read. After reading Her Secret, I am surprised by the whole story. I have not read His Secret yet but I guarantee this series is almost as good as This Man. (SUPER BIG FAN OF THIS MAN!) Once I started reading I can never stop. Love how the story is separated into 4 seasons, Love how the story describes Julia, which I now have a mental image of her, being strong and protective of the twins and Sidney. Really love this character.
Will give a 5 star for this book, now I need to His Secret to catch up what happened before.
Recommended to purchase this book and keep it for the rest of your lives.

I really liked this book; I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I was torn between wanting to hurry up an know what was going to happen and not wanting to know cause I didn't want the book to end. I didn't especially care for the ending but with that said; it leaves you wanting more!

Loved it! Beautifully written story full of emotion, drama, angst, secrets and love. Julia is such a sympathetic character. I loved her. I didn’t realize this was the second book when I signed up to review so I’m going to have to read the first one to catch up. I missed out on the development of Julia and Jonas’ relationship but they were terrific in this book. I loved Luke too! Seemed a little too heroic in the beginning but he was there for Julia. This ends in a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next story.

Her Secret by Gina A. Jones is book Two in "The Secret" Series.
I do feel you will understand this book better if you read the previous book first 'His Secret' That book dealt with the story of Julia Ellis and Jonas Fairbanks. This one picks up with Julia heart broken and trying to make a start of a new life for her. Although there is something with her from the past she is trying to move forward, Julia happens to meet Luke McCarthy and he reminds her of Jonas. This book packs at lot of emotions and drama that makes it very hard to put this book down. It does end with a cliffhanger to set you up for the next book in this series.

Sorry, this just wasn't a great read for me. This book was more of a Christian book and I couldn't get past the first 2 chapters.
