Was an interesting read as I suffer from acne and have done for years. Glad I read it and thank you.

(I bought this book from Amazon, but am reviewing it on the NetGalley site, too.)

This book impressed me with its real-world deduction and impressive array of facts and references. It covers much more than just acne, too; its storyline intersects with other health issues, history, chemistry, politics, and even a bit of the periodic table and another element, bromine. I am looking forward to trying some of these acne suggestions on my teenagers!

I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand, the author seems quite biased and her whole point can be summarized in a sentence. On the other hand, the author's point is novel and appears to be backed up by solid research. I am not sure how useful this book is to me (who already agreed with the author's solution and currently has little acne), but my guess is that it'd be quite useful to the average American especially if they have acne.

Thank you to Netgalley for the advance copy for my honest review.

As a person who has struggled with acne their entire life even as an adult I was hoping to find something new. That is not the case with the book. Everything mention in this book is something I feel the average person will have tried before they even buy this book.

The Hidden Cause f Acne doesn't flow well and is a dry read as the author searches for a cure to Acne.
Melissa Gallico goes into great detail that drags painfully though the book. Her personal struggles I think will help though who struggle with Acne.

*thank you to Netgalley and Inner Traditions for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review*

2 stars.

I feel bad giving this such a low rating as you can clearly tell that the author has gone to alot of trouble to find out all the information that is in this. Some of it was interesting such as all the tests etc that had been tried and either proven or disproved. But unfortunately the majority of this I personally was not interested in. I think this book is more fitting for those who are really on a search for finding a cure for their acne. As alot of people know, millions and millions of people around the world struggle with this and it is not an easy fix for most. I appreciate the author for putting this altogether as I believe it will help quite a few people.
