I enjoyed this story again and I can't say why but even though most all of the sheikh stories I read follow the same line I always instantly enjoy them. This one is a great quick read. Sped through it in one sitting. Same plot line where they meet, some circumstance has them interacting more, they start a relationship of some sort depending on the plot, and there is some misunderstanding usually blown out of proportion due to miscommunication or jumping to conclusion. Then things work out and the characters come to the realization they should be together forever. Usually I really like this as a quick read and I did enjoy this one but it is not something that I would probably read again. The characters in this one just didn't hook me as much. Still would recommend for any who like the classic Sheikh romance story. I will say this and the other one makes me want to read the other story in this series I believe I missed two. We shall see.

I really enjoyed this series and this might just be my favorite.of the three. I really do like Leslie's books and Khalid and Katie's story did not disappoint it held my interest all the way through had a good plot and plenty of steam what more can you want from a romance.

I can always count on good reading when I pick up a Leslie North book, and a hot sexy guy that finds his match in a strong minded woman, is always a good read for me. Khalid and Katie's romance had the back and forth of an in-charge man that says it's my way only, and a woman that will prove compromise is the answer for their HEA. An enjoyable read, I would like to thank NetGalley and Relay Pub. for gifting me "The Sheikh's Stubborn Assistant". My opinion is my own. 4.25 Stars!

Khalid and Katie clash wills and personalities as she moves to Dubai to work. Definitely keeps the pages turning in this third book of the Sharif Sheikhs.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Khalid’s heart had grown cold having been denied the passion that had once consumed his heart. Failing to see others points of views he slowly headed down a spiral of despair couldn’t escape from until he finally opened his heart and let Katie in. She was the only one who could reach him and until he accepted her he would truly be lost.

My relationship with Leslie's Sheikh's is a tough one... Some of the Sheikh's have great stories, but sometimes I just don't seem to connect with the character. Unfortunately, Sheikh Khalid is one of them. He is the third brother in the family and where I really liked Assad and Rashid, I couldn't say the same for Khalid.

Khalid is a cold hearted man, who treats his personnel not so very gracefully. Katie, hired as his assistant, can't stand the fact that Khalid doesn't take her comments and advice into consideration. So they fight over everything. Despite their fighting, there is a physical attraction between them. But since Katie is friends with his sister Amira, and his sisters-in-law Liyah and Mila, a relationship between them is not very convenient.

Khalid doesn't do relationships and Katie doesn't want to keep up with Khalid's hot-and-cold treatment. So, can Katie meld his heart? Or will hell freeze over before that happens?

Personally, I would have let Khalid freeze to death. If you don't want to commit and only use a woman for pleasure in the office, I'm not interested. As said, I just couldn't connect to either Katie or Khalid. The story felt a bit rushed.

So in all, three out of five stars from me. And maybe the next Sheikh will come along and capture my heart. With a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

5 Star Review of The Sheikh's Stubborn Assistant by Leslie North

ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

This book is the third in the Sharif Sheikhs Series. Sheikh romance is a guilty pleasure of mine & this one was my favorite of the three !! Loved Katie and Khalid's story. Katie has a Master's Degree in Art History and is looking for work. Hoping to find a job at Khalid's art gallery as a curator her pride takes a serious hit when the offer on the table is only for his assistant. At first these two do not like each other - but working in close proximity they start an affair they keep secret. Katie wants more and to be taken seriously on an intellectual basis. She ends the affair and quits working at the gallery. Khalid realize how much he really messed up , misses her and how much he regrets how he treated her as more subservient than as his equal. Glad their story ended with them working out their differences & a HEA !! Quick enjoyable read!

I received an arc from Netgalley. I loved this story but wished the relationship had more depth and description. It seemed like weeks past and we missed out on thoughts and feelings were skipped over and you didn’t feel the relationship growing.

I did love Khalid the strong silent type and Katie the woman who opened him up. Katie was looking for a part of her past and Khalid was hiding part of his past from everyone which closed him off but not for long. Katie broke through and a love grew. 3.5 stars just because I missed some depth in the story.

2.5* to be honest, I don't hate it enough to give it 2 but I don't like it enough to give it 3. If you can get past the glaring inaccuracies in middle eastern culture it's not bad but I literally hate Khalid. He's self centered, selfish, and acts like a spoiled rotten toddler with a plaything. Asides from the names, if you put this book into NY instead of Dubai it would work for the culture but as far as middle eastern values and culture goes this book is a bust. It's not even good as a "billionaire" romance. Just all-round no from me.

I liked the easy, fast paced flow of the book. At some points it was a bit of a roller coaster ride trying to keep up with what the main characters emotions / actions were - but overall a good, easy, fast paced romance.

This was the third book of this series. Khalid was the brooding brother who ran an art gallery. Katie was trying to get a job as a curator in a museum but was propositioned more than offered jobs. It was interesting watching their relationship grow. This was a good read as I enjoy Leslie North's writing. I got this book from Netgalley for an honest review

Kadiya/Katie had such high hopes for the interview she had at the Abu Dhabi museum. But it is obvious if the man did call her it wouldn’t be for the job. Katie hated it when men interrupted her. She quickly ended the interview if you could call it that and left. All of her life Katie’s beauty had been more of a hindrance than a help. People checked out her looks and didn’t take the time to know the woman herself. Katie had been in Dubai a month and although the interviews poured in the outcome was the same. The museums and private galleries were always more interested in her beauty over her brains. Sahaar had been her exchange host/mother and was warm and welcoming. The older woman had hovered at first and more or less pushed her toward Mila and Liyah who were the other two woman she had formally hosted who had both ended up to Sheikhs who were brothers. Katie barely had time to figure out her professional life let Slone her personal life. Katie needed money she was up to her eyes in student debt and her father wasn’t keeping his promises when she had dropped out of business school and went on to purse her art history degree. When she went on for her masters he stopped talking to her completely. Maybe she should take a gallery job and work her way up or an assistant instead of a curator. Mila was at Sahaars when Katie returned and refused to take no for an answer as far as dinner at the palace went. Then Asad- the Sheikh married to Liyah- said that Khalid would be impressed as he swears we don’t know beauty when it comes to art and sculptures in the
Palace. Katie wanted to get a curators position in Dubai because that is where her mother had been from. Most of her mother’s family was gone now but the culture had called to Katie. Her mother had passed away four years ago. Katie wondered what she was lacking; she had done well in school, excelled in her internship, and gained prestige through her work. Amira- the Sheikhs sister had met Katie a couple of times and liked her. Amira decided to shoot Katie a party to meet some people of the art world and that is where Katie met Khalid- the younger brother who was also a sheikh. Amira tells Katie Khalid owned an art gallery in Dubai. Khalid had never been so dangerously attracted to a woman but never before did giving in come with so many consequences. Khalid had no responsibility to marry and no need. Khalid was fine with his flings. Make his sister in laws angry would cause more family drama then he was willing to face as his sister in laws would be furious if he ever hurt Katie which meant he couldn’t even have a fling with the woman of his erotic dreams and haunted him. Katie went to work for Khalid but she was upset as she was nothing more than a glorified secretary and hostess. Khalid had to go away for a couple days and Katie had just told him he was all talk and no action when it came to the gallery. Then Khalid said he knew she would be there when he returned as she had too much integrity to slink away while he was gone. Khalid returned one evening and scared Katie when she was working late doing paperwork. They ended up having sex. But Khalid said during the day he was her boss at night her lover.
I loved this book. It was an enjoyable easy to read romance. I loved how Khalid didn’t realize he loved Katie until he almost lost her for good. I loved that Katie became his muse to be the first subject of his first painting in a long time. I loved Khalid and Katie together she brought him back to life. I loved the plot and pace. I loved how easy Mla and Amira and Liyah became close to Katie and cared about her. I hated how Fatima tried to use Katie and hurt her. I couldn’t find anything to criticize which I loved. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.
