Jill Mansell is such a great story teller. Her novels are so funny and lighthearted but full of soul and depth. Her characters are flawed but so enjoyable. I loved "This Could Change Everything". Also, can we talk about the amazing covers her books have????

This Could Change Everything is exactly what I look for in a Jill Mansell novel- quirky but loveable characters, found families, a little heartbreak, and a lot of hope. The story begins when Essie's life is turned upset down when a "round robin" (Christmas card letter) she writes out of fun for her best friend's eyes only ends up being sent to everyone in her address list, including her boyfriend and his mother. Kicked out of her boyfriend's apartment and losing her job with said boyfriend's mother, Essie ends up living in an attic flat owned by an eccentric elderly lady. The story is sweet and has lots of unexpected twists. There were a few places where I feel the story could have been tightened up, but overall it's a lovely book for a weekend read- this is 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 for Goodreads. :-)

Though it took me a while to get to in my Kindle, this was another great easy fun read by Jill Mansell. I will read anything that she writes - her stories are the best and her characters are always relatable. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

3.5 . I always love Mansell's characters, I want to be apart of their world. Main character very relatable. Had a lot of laugh out of loud but also touching moments. It was nice to see the juxtaposition between the character in her 20's and the one in her 80's. Like watching a romantic comedy. Love this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of "This Could Change Everything" by Jill Mansell in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely adored "This Could Change Everything" by Jill Mansell. The relationship between Essie, Zillah, Connor, Scarlett, and Lucas was perfect. I loved their banter and caring nature. The tension between Essie and Lucas was the forefront for much of the story and I found myself rooting for them.

“Every day we do things that are capable of changing everything, and that’s what makes life exciting.”
~Jill Mansell, This Could Change Everything

What a cute story! While relatively predictable (in a comforting, favorite slippers, heartwarming sort of way), I enjoyed watched the journeys of all the various characters from this story. Essie was adorable, and I absolutely adored Zillah. It was a sweet, light read...perfect for the summer! I loved the theme that we never really know how our actions can change our lives or the lives of others and therefore emphasizing the importance of kindness. Kindness changes lives and the far-reaching effect of that is one of the things that made this book so special.

Thank you to Source Books & NetGalley for allowing me a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I can always count on Jill Mansell to make me smile! 'This Could Change Everything' combines heart and humor to give a superior read that you'll want to devour in one sitting. Essie makes a tiny mistake by writing a venting letter that is very negative about her boss and various other people in her life. She never intends anyone to see except her Bestie, but unfortunately it gets sent to nearly everyone on her email list. UH-OH! Her life changes due to this, and the book follows all of her adventures seeking a new start. Heartwarming, happy, light and funny, you won't regret reading it!

*Many thanks to NetGalley, Sourcebooks-Landmark, & Jill Mansell for a copy to read and honestly review!*

This book was just okay. I did not care for the two main characters as their story just did not connect me to the book. It's a shame as I have enjoyed other Jull Mansell titles.

bit slow at times. I kept waiting for Essie to figure things out. I thoroughly enjoyed the relationships and building of self that happened throughout the story.

I like Jill Mansell books. They always leave you feeling good and happy. This story is slightly predictable but you won't care. Essie's life is going well. She and Paul are living together and heading toward marriage until one night she writes a Christmas newletter as a joke and is mortified to discover it got sent to everyone on her email list, including Paul's family. But life has a new pathway for Essie to follow and the journey is a happy one. Set in England you'll notice a few differences about the holidays but you'll still enjoy this read.

A big thank you to Jill Mansell, Sourcebooks Landmark, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my candid opinion.

I love Jill Mansell's books. She writes real world British romances with real characters. Her characters are quirky and lovable and a joy to get to know. I love Zillah and wish that I had a friend like her.....she is an 83 year old spike high heel wearing, hip fairy godmother. She truly is the Queen of all she surveys.

The other characters are just as interesting as Zillah. If you love British romance and quirky characters, you will love this book!

I really enjoyed this book. It's another fun romantic/chick lit novel from Jill Mansell, a fun beach type read. The book interesting, likable characters and a strong enough plot to keep the reader going until the end.

Thanks to Sourcebooks Landmark for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jill Mansell is back with a charming summer read with her latest novel - This Could Change Everything. Essie Phillips has it all, until she doesn't. It's the thing everyone with an email account fears - that one email going to an unintended recipient. Except in Essie's case, she has a private rant about her boss that goes viral, and then she loses everything. What happens next is the story of putting the pieces back together. This one pairs well with a warm summer day.

This was such a great read!

I've been on a thriller kick lately, so I needed something light to read and this book was perfect for the job!

Essie has a wonderful life until she writes insults about her boyfriend's mother on her laptop and it goes viral. The story progresses and I won't tell you who made it go viral but it definitely wasn't Essie. Her boyfriend breaks up with her and her life gets crazy. What happens to her? You'll just have to read the story and find out for yourself!

This book was the perfect light read for me!

Thanks to NetGalley, Sourcebooks and the author for allowing me the opportunity to read this book and provide feedback.

This was my first Jill Mansell book and I really enjoyed it. I have hesitated to pick up other books by her because I don’t usually like the feel-good genre, but I found this one very uplifting while not being too saccharine.

Poor Essie Phillips makes a foolish mistake by writing an honest “Christmas Letter” that she never intends to send. But unknown to her it does get sent and immediately ruins her life. She loses her boyfriend, her job and her place to live all in a matter of minutes. After a little moping she meets Zillah and her life gets not only back on track, but she finds herself. Zillah is so kind and devoted to helping those who are suffering and have no hope. While some of these wishes were a little unbelievable in terms of execution the stories were very touching.

The pace of the story and the writing were dead on and the characters were well defined and likable. It seemed pretty obvious how the story would end for each character but there were some surprises related to how it all came together. I totally overlooked the significance of the ballet dancer at the beginning. I really enjoyed that each character seemed to end up where they were meant to be.

I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a quick beach read and stories like those by Elin Hildebrand.

This book was a joy to read! It has a great cast of characters ( of all ages), love (lost and found), all based on everyone's worst nightmare....sending out a group email meant for only one person. Life is turned upside down for Essie, literally changing everthing!

Oh Essie…. if you’re going to write a brutally honest letter, do it on paper so you can burn it. Don’t ever, ever write it online. These things have a way of going viral.

Essie found out pretty quickly that nothing good could come of writing an email that she didn’t mean to send. That one email was the impetus for moving out of her apartment, meeting Zillah and cohorts, getting a new boss (much better than her ex’s mother!) and learning to make her own life before latching on to someone new.

I liked this book – especially Essie’s new friendships with Zillah and Lucas, her new apartment, and the way she finally realized that breaking up with her boyfriend was the best thing ever.

Great book to read when you’ve made a mistake you’re feeling horrible about… just goes to show that everyone can make a comeback!

The quintessential Jill Mansell read. Get lost in the quirky characters and fun friendships. It takes the main characters a little long to figure out they are meant to be together, but then I suppose there wouldn't be a book.

I am so very excited to be on the blog tour for the UK paperback release of This Could Change Everything by Jill Mansell. I have read several of Jill’s books and they are always are a sure thing, however this one was just the very, very best. Oh, how I loved it!

When Essie goes through a (slightly hilarious) major life altering change, she finds herself in several new circumstances, and her life will be changed forever.

This is a story about the goodness that exists in people, and when you find those people, you hold onto them and don’t let them go. This was my favorite part of this book - the hearts of some of these characters were so huge and overflowing with love - it was a great place to be in the few days it took me to read this. I was able to step outside of all the craziness that goes on in the world and be surrounded by a wonderful story with wonderful characters.

Of course, Zillah, the fabulous octogenarian, was my favorite character - I will be thinking of her and her heart for a very long time, and maybe even coveting her enviable wardrobe and shoe collection.

This is an utterly charming book that will pull at your heartstrings, will have you laughing, and perhaps even shedding a tear. And this is why we read, isn’t it? To feel. And oh boy, will you ever feel here.

A huge thank you to Anne Cater, Jill Mansell, and Headline Books for including me in this tour and to Sourcebooks for my US copy.
