Three and a half stars: A story where people find love in unexpected places.

Essie Phillips is content with her life. She is about to marry her boyfriend and live in his lovely apartment. Then things spiral quickly out of control when a letter she writes as a joke to her friend gets sent out to everyone on her contact list. The person who claims to be responsible for the terrible misdeed is a friend that her brother dragged home after a drunken night on the town. Essie’s perfect life falls apart. She is desperate for a job and a place to live. Luckily for her, she is able to find a place to live and she lands an awesome job, that is until she comes face to face again with the person who ruined her life. Will Essie be able to regain her life?
What I Liked:
*This Could Change Everything is a book that is funny, charming and it has interesting characters. I liked that it was all about finding love in unexpected places.
*It was entertaining to follow Essie as her life spiraled out of control after her terrible holiday letter was emailed out to everyone on her contact list. She loses her fiancé, her job, her apartment and her reputation. Down and out, Essie doesn’t give up, and she soon has a stroke of luck. I appreciated that Essie had spunk, and I liked seeing her fight back and put her life back in order.
*My favorite character was Zillah. At eighty three, Zillah is about doing good things with her life and her money. She helps people when they are least expecting it. Zillah is trying to make amends from some mistakes in her past, and she does it by helping those in need and those who are in hospice. She is spunky, funny and kind. She was an absolute joy. It was nice reading about someone who was always focused on doing good.
*The romances are different and unexpected. This one features two different romances. Essie’s romance starts out completely antagonistic, and then it moves into friendship with chemistry, and then there is a twist and a surprise and plenty of heat. Loved the way it turned out. The second romance features Connor, Essie’s new flatmate. Connor is kind, gentle and he does not like obnoxious women, or so he thinks. This romance was such a surprise, and I liked the way it played out.
*I enjoyed many of the side stories in this one such as those of the people in hospice that Zillah, Connor and Essie were helping. I also liked some of the stories behind the photos. There are plenty of heart felt moments in this one.
*The book wraps nicely with a sweet romantic moment.
And The Not So Much:
*Even the book ended in a good spot on a high note, it felt rather abrupt. I wanted more. I wish there was an Epilogue to follow up on the characters.
*At first, the switch in view points is a little jarring. The story starts with Zillah and then moves to Essie and finally Connor. It took some time to get used to the characters and understand their voices.
*I don’t know, this book was missing a little something. It was a good read, but I wanted something more....
This Could Change Everything is a book that features three different characters who meet, help each other and find love in unexpected places. This is a sweet and charming book even if it does end abruptly and lack a bit of spark. It is easy, breezy reading perfect for when you need something light.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own, and I was not compensated for this review.

Jill Mansell does not disappoint; I couldn't put this book down. I became so involved with the characters and couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I enjoyed how in this little city everyone became a part of each other lives.

I received a readers copy from the NetGalley in an exchange for an honest review.
At first I was confused about who was who, but eventualIy I figured it out. I liked how the charachters were intertwined with each other.
I loved Zilah and William's story about books. It is amazing how good friends Zillah and Essie had become. Zillah is an amazing woman, that you can look up to.
The ending is great and I loved how
the couples got paired up.
In April I visited Scotland and was on The Isle of Skye and have seen those beutiful colorful houses that are described in a book. It is an amazing feeling - to read about the places that I visited.
I love Jill Mansell's books. I have all of her paperbacks on my shelf.
If you are into romance and friendship than this book is for you.

I enjoyed this book. There was a lot of filler that I wasn't really interested in and found I could skim past it and still get the main idea of the story. However as I got closer to the end of the book I started to realize I would miss some of the characters.
All the characters were amazing and held their own personality, especially for so many of them. It a bit confusing in the beginning but after getting to know them they really all had different and fun personality.
It's a fun read and not stressful...it's a good book to fall back on after many books of thrillers.

3.5 cutsie stars

This story had quite a bit of charm Essie Phillips is a lucky girl. She has a man she loves, an upcoming marriage, and lots of life happening things opening up before her eyes. All is perfect, well...outside the fact that her future mother in law hates her but other than that (and the fact she works for said upcoming MIL), life looks wonderful.

Did you ever receive one of those holiday letters informing the world of how truly awesome the sender's life was? They have the perfect life, the super successful children, a husband who is devoted, vacations, and on and on. Don't you sometimes wish you could send a letter that told the truth? That your life wasn't that great, that you were getting fat, that your bird died, and that you hate you mother in law? Of course you would never send it though. Well Essie decides to have some fun and writes a letter that tells the truth never in a million years intending to send it. But, as is often the case a mistake happens and zoom that letter is sent and the damage is done. Essie's life is over, well not really but she now has to move on and move on she does.

Essie moves to another town and meets a bevy of likeable characters and her life which looked desperately awful turns into something she never expected.

This was a charming story, a lovely sweet tale where when you are at your lowest the only place you can go is up. So if you are in need of a pleasant read, one to take to the beach, the pool, or on vacation, this might be the one for you. It is a bit contrived but hey who doesn't like a book where you can enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of a sacchariferous story?

Thank you to Jill Mansell, SOURCEBOOKS Landmark, and NetGalley for a copy of this cute tale.

I always look forward to her books and this one did not disappoint after what felt like a very long wait. The characters are engaging, the storylines are entertaining and the relationships are real. She focuses as much on friendship as she does romance. I especially enjoyed the special appearance by characters we've met before.

4 uplifting, happy stars to This Could Change Everything!

Essie Phillips wrote a ranting email about her boss, who happens to be her boyfriend’s mother, and somehow, it was inadvertently sent to everyone in her address book! As things tend to go these days, the email went viral. Essie stands to lose not just her job, but her relationship and her apartment as well.

How can she repair the damage? Flighty Essie decides to run as fast as she can to a new town and start entirely over.

Wow, there’s a lot to love in book! Warm-hearted, loving characters abound, and there are a few interesting storylines taking place in addition to Essie’s.

First, let’s start with Essie. She is likable and, really, her email was just her being honest about how she felt. Fortunately for her, that email set in motion a positive, new phase in her life, possibly better and more enriching than her old one.

Zillah is a love, a ball of fun, enjoys dressing up in high heels; all at a young eighty-three years old. I perked up every time Zillah was mentioned!

Of course there are a couple charming male characters that add some swoon factor and fun, but I don’t want to name any names and spoil Essie’s evolution.

Jill Mansell has done it again with This Could Change Everything! It is a most endearing, lighthearted, quirky, and utterly enchanting romance. If you enjoy old school Sophie Kinsella or uplifting, sweet reads, Mansell is a go-to. I wish I could read this one all over again, and one day, you betcha, I will!

Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark for the opportunity read this ARC.

I have read a couple of Jill Mansell’s books before and am glad I was able to read this one too. I found I was kind of annoyed when Essie and Paul got back together, but liked how the plot twisted and other relationships developed! This was a good read and I was pleased with the storyline.

this book is recommended for those who enjoy women's fiction with engaging and endearing characters, a few plot lines, and confusion until, at last, order (and relationships) are restored.

In this one, Essie thinks that she has it all. She is in love with and living with a partner whose flaws and family she excuses. However, the relationship breaks up when a private document is seen by far too many. So...no relationship, no home and Essie must regroup. She finds a place to live with an elderly woman in return for household help. Zillah is a force to reckon with. She teaches Essie a lot about life.

Essie has a prior history with bar owner, Lucas. She is now his employee. Clearly there is an attraction but can their relationship work out? Even if you think that you know the answer, you will enjoy the getting there.

There are several other main characters including Essie's best friend, Scarlett, photographer Conor, Essie's brother, Lucas's girlfriend, Alice (who knew Zillah many years ago)...enough to keep you busy.

A truly appealing part of this novel told of how Zillah, Conor and Essie made the dreams of those in hospice care come true. The stories are touching. I only wish that such services really existed.

All in all, Ms Mansell comes through yet again. Add this to your beach reads this summer and enjoy! Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks!

Every now and then, I start reading a book and it draws me in and wraps around me so tightly that it’s hard to break away. This is one of those books. Jill Mansell’s characters are well developed, as are their stories. She has a way of weaving all of these different personalities and backstories into a thoroughly enjoyable book. I felt that many aspects of the story were a little predictable, but that didn’t change my opinion of the book. Great summer read. Thanks to NetGalley, Jill Mansell and the publisher for the eBook.

I received a recommendation that I would enjoy this

I read it entirely in one day.

I am trying to think of words to describe it - -
it is a love story
it is a life story
it is a story of how everyone should be- looking out for one another - and performing charitable acts
(for no recognition- only to truly reach out and help someone)

Even though I cannot describe it adequately-
I do highly recommend as most of all I truly enjoyed!!

Another fun read from Jill Mansell! Not quite as much depth in this one as some of her prior ones, and yes, the story is rather predictable. But her stories are so charmingly written, you really don't care. There's a very interesting assortment of true-to-life characters, including the wondrous Zillah, an 80+ year old who teaches Essie so much about life in general. This story excels at showing how one little decision you make can change everything, not only for you, but for the world around you. The things I love best about Mansell's novels are the humor and the witty banter between the characters, and the oh-so-real characters, flaws and all, and their zany complications. Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for the e-arc!

"Every day, we do things that are capable of changing everything, that's what makes life exciting."
I really enjoyed this book of love, hope, wishes and happiness.
There are many wonderful characters in this story and my absolute favorite is Zillah who at eighty three, has a zest for life and a love for people. She has a way of drawing in anyone who meets her. She made me love her!
The descriptions of the countryside, town of Bath and the the Red House bar made me feel as if I was actually there.
It's a terrific novel! I recommend it!

Great beach read - Loved the characters and really wanted to see how things were going to work out (hoped they would turn out the way they did :-) )

I was provided a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.

The plot for this book was kind of all over the place, there were a lot of characters and there was a lot going on in the story. This definitely helped hold my interest since there was something new going on all the time but there was also a good amount to keep track of. Luckily the characters were all pretty good. I especially liked the development of Scarlett's story, she is such a  caring and generous person and it took awhile for all her layers to peel back in the story. This book had a lot of serendipitous moments for many of the characters, gave it kind of a magical feel to it. There were also a lot of sub stories about people that Zillah was helping and they were all so heart-wrenching and sad. Everything turned out the way that I wanted it to though and pretty much everyone had a happy ending which is always nice. I liked this book a good amount and I thought it was a good summer read, I would recommend it.

This novel has a beautiful cast of characters. People you would love reading about especially eighty three year old Zillah who is living her life to the fullest. She is not letting age get in her way!
Well, the blurb did deceive me as I thought Essie had written a really awful letter and needed to leave her home, city.and friends ( you know like disappear) when the circumstances that led to the loss of her home was because she was staying in her boyfriend's house.
This story had a lot of things going on. There is Essie and Connor and Lucas and Scarlett and Zillah. There were just too many things going on. I have read books following many characters but it didn't just work for me here (perhaps it was the mindset with which i began the book) so that is why this is a 3.5 rating for me.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this. This is my honest review.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC on exchange for review.
I love all Jill Mansell's books. For some reason they make me want to move to England and get back to my ancestor roots, since I am Irish and English. But since I dont like the rain or cold weather, I dont think that is a good idea. Lol
This book was so cute and a great love story without being too mushy. It was funny and light-hearted. One of my favorites.
