The pace of the story was good and kept me interested. Really enjoyed Rory and Amara. They had many struggles and some definite twists to deal with but it was a good story. Good action and some steamy scenes. Would go back and forth between facing the danger and trying to figure out who and why and the hot and bothered scenes.

This one took me a bit to find my groove but one I did I was flipping pages like crazy. Im always for finicky with Contemporary romance books. It’s hard to find that keeps me going. But this one did.

The first book in the Brute Force series by Lora Leigh is Collison Point. This first book follows Amara Resnova, who is the daughter of a crime lord, and Riordan Malone, who used to be her bodyguard. Riordan and Amara have a secret relationship until she gets kidnapped and both she and Riordan get hurt. You pick the story back up after about six months after this and find out that they are no longer together and Amara is trying to find him because she needs his help keeping her safe from her dad's enemies. Amara does not remember anything from the time that she got hurt and broke Riordan's heart, but can he forgive her and keep her safe? Can Amara remember what she is trying so desperately to block from her mind?

This book was super spicy. The storyline was fantastic and really kept you engaged, but wow those spicy scenes were intense. The twist at the end was spot on and I did not see it coming. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to continue the series with, Dagger's Edge.

ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Collision Point is the first title in the Brute Force series. After reading this book I will not be reading the other titles in the same series. I didn't like this one.

Title: Collision Point
Author: Lora Leigh
Format: ebook
Genre: Romantic suspense, amnesia, bodyguard, second chance, touch of paranormal, elite/black/special ops
Standalone: Yes but the epilogue opens it up for more
Part of a Series: Book 1 of Brute Force (but it kind of seems like this is a spin-off to another series)
POV: Amara, Riordan mostly
Steam Level: Toasty at times
4/5

Collision Point starts with Amara being rescued and someone on the rescuing team being killed during the rescue. Six months later Amara has no memory of the abduction, the rescue or the year prior. Collision Point is a race against the clock for Amara to remember her abduction and her time spent with Riordan. Collison Point kept me guessing and I loved the twist at the end.

I received this book for free from NetGalley. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Suspenseful, mysterious and fast paced that will keep you glued to the pages.
Riordan and Amara are strong characters that have an explosive relationship with some complications that keeps the emotions high. Riordan is quite the alpha male and I’m sure most ladies will find his character swoon worthy. You can almost feel the tension as the sex scenes heat up the pages.
Definitely a good read!

This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you

How do I describe a book this good? Movie quality for sure. It was riveting from the start. I think I held my breath through most of it. I never figured out the suspects. The sexual tension and action was over-the-top good. Book provided by NetGalley.

I am a huge fan of Ms. Leigh's Elite Ops and Nauti series and any of her books tangentially related to those series is an automatic read for me, so imagine my pleasure at finding a spin-off in the Brute Force series.

Riordan “Rory” Malone was a young man just coming into his own when he was introduced to us in Wild Card. Fast forward a few years and he has become a honed and skillful warrior, following in his brother's footsteps. Like all Malone men before him, he has also found the one woman who owns him, body and soul. She comes with a lot of complications, but Rory is willing to fight to the death to protect her.

Amara Resnova is daddy's little princess even though daddy is allegedly a notorious crime lord. The one time she decides to go her own way, she finds herself in life-threatening danger and the only person who can keep her alive is the one man she can't have; the one she was willing to break the rules for.

Amara may be a daddy's girl, but she is also very sweet, thoughtful, and kind. Rory is the perfect foil for her because he is protective and strong enough to make the tough choices needed to secure her well-being. That does not mean she is a pushover because she is ready to go head to head with him when needed.

One thing Ms. Leigh will always give you is lots of passion and suspense and this book is no different. Lots of scorching hot passion and lots of action like her Elite Ops and Nauti series and while loosely connected, every story stands on its own. Every time I finish a new book by this author, I'm sure to go on a binge of my favorites, just like now and I am really looking forward to the rest of this series.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Honestly, I didn't care for this book and I had to force myself to struggle through it. I did not realize this was a spin-off from another series and I may have enjoyed it more if I had read the other series and was familiar with the characters, but I didn't and I wasn't.

I found both Amara and Riordan to be annoying and unrealistic in their behavior for much of the book. There was less romance between them than there was constant making out and dry humping from the moment they first encounter one another. I felt that took away from what was supposed to be the very serious plot of the book. It was a roller coaster to constantly bounce from Amara being seemingly terrified for her life to being overwhelmed by her attraction to Riordan and not caring at all about being careful or on her guard. Likewise, Riordan bounced from wanting to tear her clothes off and being overbearing and protective in practically the same breath. The whole amnesia aspect made all of this particularly off-putting because Amara was constantly overwhelmed by lust for somebody she could not even remember and only had vague feelings of what their time together might have been. This made it impossible for me to like Riordan's character; I'm not sure how different this is from taking advantage of a woman who is impaired. :\

I had my issues with it, but I didn't think the book was terrible. You would probably enjoy it if you read the original series from which this is spun-off. For me, without having background on these two characters I found it difficult to like and/or relate to them.

ARC received from NetGalley for an honest review --- Normally, I devour any book written by Lora Leigh as she is one of my favorite authors. Having read the Elite Ops series I was thrilled to see she had written thus first part of a new series. That being said, I found it difficult to follow this story line and it never delivered what it promised. I am hopeful that the rest of the series will turn out better. I loved Riordan as the main characters and was happy to see Noah and the love they have for each other. I was confused as to why his granpop went along with him and then seemed to disappear from the rest of the book. Amara was a weak main character and love interest. I loved her father Ivan and his relationship with Ilya and Alexi. Would like to see more of them. I thought the premise of the story was strong but the execution was lacking. The story dragged and it took me so long to finish. Thank you to the publishers and just sorry I couldn't offer a more positive feedback.

Collision Point will bring back two lovers again but they are going to face some complication such as memory loss.
Rory and Amara has history together that their reunion should be explosive. But instead, they are facing a lot of angst between them. Rory feel kinda abandon because he has been trying to reach Amara. They had been lovers in the past before. And he even rescue her when she was kidnapped since her father was a crime lord. That's a lot for anyone but that did not scary Rory. But he is more hurt than ever because he has been reaching out but she never respond and she shows up after some months.
What he does not know is Amara has lost her memory and she has no idea what's going. Only that someone is hunting for her. And she only feel safe when she is around Rory, who she does not know too well. Amara has lost a lot but she is willing to find self with the help of Rory.
Rory and Amara are cute with each other. I wish they could have more time with each other. It will bring more depth to them.
3 Stars

This is the first book I have read by Lora Leigh. I felt like the characters were well thought out, but the book felt like a sequel. There were parts referring to the main characters brother coming back to his wife after missing for three years with a different face. There was a lot of flashing back between the past and present.

I enjoyed the story of Riordan and Amara and I look forward to reading more of the Brute Force series. I am hoping to get a little more clarity about some of the characters. Overall, a good storyline and characters.

When Riordan found Amara in that hole broken and bleeding he was determined to get the love of his life out of there but that was the end of them. Riordan is shot and Amara can hear voices saying “we are losing him”but six months later she has dreams of a man she loved so deeply but no idea who he is or what happened to her. Amara is driving to a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere because someone is trying to kill her and the only person she feels safe with is Riordan but she isn’t sure if he is in her imagination or her heart.
As Amara struggles with her memories someone is trying to kill her but her very protective Russian father isn’t going to let that happen but Amara feels like someone is after him to. This book has all the excitement of a spy novel with some romance and family thrown in and I loved watching Amara get her memories back even if it kills her.

This is about the brother of another series I read in 2008. Needless to say, I was confused a lot and felt I was missing information. From the first page it felt like I came in the middle off their story which made it choppy. There wasn’t a lot of (or none at all?) backstory to tie the related series and characters to give this one context. Based on other reviews, Riordan and Amara are featured in a book or two from that other series. Already not having an easy impression, I never clicked with either of them.

I did not like this at all. I really considered not finishing it but did without knowing why. The storytelling was weird. It read like a sequel but it is the first of the series. I understand there was supposed to be a mystery but I don't think it was quite right.

I do love author Lora Leigh's writings. I have found her stories very entertaining and hard to put down, Collision Point did not disappoint! I could not put this down and when I had to attend to housework my e-reader helped me with my addiction. As with all Ms Leigh's books, this story has some really hot sexy times, suspense, and mystery. Even though I enjoyed this story I was a little distracted by some of the writing, I felt the sentences were a little long and had to reread them at times. But this was an ARC and sometimes editing is still in the works, which I hope was the case for this book. I loved the sexual tension between our hero and heroine, I also love that this is a spin-off from a previous series, “Elite Ops”, which I love. I look forward to reading more of “A Brute Force” series in the future and plan on rereading her other series again soon. All in all I give this 4.5 stars.

***I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for an honest review via NetGalley, this is my honest opinion and has not been influenced by the author, Publishers or NetGalley in anyway.*** Thank you!

I have read just about all of Lora Leigh's Breeds series and was super excited to read this latest series. I'm sad to say, though, that I was a bit underwhelmed. What I loved about this title was the passion that Leigh is notorious for -- Rory and Amara's chemistry is hot enough to set the pages on fire. The feelings they share for one another are deeper than most people could imagine, partly due to the hint of supernatural with the "Malone" connection which basically gives the Malone men the ability to feel the pain and experience the dreams of the woman they each give their heart, soul, and mind.

What I didn't love about Collision Point was feeling like I didn't have all of the background information, even though it was the first in the Brute Force series. I also was wondering what happened to the Malone grandfather -- for the first half of the story, he's an important secondary character but then he disappears from the story never to be mentioned again. There was specific mention of how he insisted on tagging along for this "mission" despite Rory's objections, and he has a scene with Amara that is incredibly sweet and personal, only to then walk into his bedroom and we don't hear or see him for the rest of the book. I missed him - he was a great character. I also felt like the "bad guy" came out of nowhere. This is a bit distracting for readers who are trying to suspend their disbelief.

That said, I thought the chemistry between the main characters was on-point and the story had just enough action to keep you interested. I will look for the second in the series once it comes out, however I do hope that there are a few less plot holes moving forward.

This story starts off fast paced and has Rory who is Amar’s body almost dying while protecting her. Now 11 months later after nearly dying she has shown up at his ranch asking for his help but not remembering much. Like they were dating, or many other things. She just knows she needs him. Against many peoples advice he goes back to where he was nearly killed. The story at the mansion has him arguing with her at times, and her father. He is also trying to find out who is wanting to kill her still. They both are trying to figure out the other one and slowly throughout the story Amar has bits and pieces of her memory coming back. This all makes for a fast paced read and good story.
