This book was much better than some of Leigh's others. And while it is the first in a new series, reading at least the first in the Elite Ops series is a good idea. The plot/mystery was decent and a lot less convoluted than normal for Leigh which I appreciated. I usually spend half the book wondering if I missed something.

This book is meant to be the first in a new series so I thought it would start off a new story as such however it seems to jump into the middle of something that I haven't read before and have since found out it is a spin off from another series. Having said that, I did enjoy the story very much and liked the characters even though I found myself confused at certain points due to the fact that I hadn't read the original series. I think if I go back and read the previous series then I might have a few "ah ha" moments for this book. Overall a good read.

Three and a half
My very first book by this author was Wild Card which ironically is very much connected to this new spin off series. This time though it's Riordan who is the man fighting for his woman but how can he do that if she doesn't remember him ? Amara was abducted, tortured and left for dead but now her memories of the past year are gone. She has no recollection of being kidnapped, her mind has blotted out her ordeal and yet her dreams feature Riordan, a man trained to kill yet with him strangely Amara feels safe.
I suppose if I had to describe this book I'd say romantic suspense but it's an extremely steamy read with the couple indulging at what I felt was inopportune moments. As a reader I knew that they have a sexual history but the constant chest banging, you are mine scenes felt a tad over done and yes I do understand that Riordan is an alpha male whose world nearly imploded. Amara has this privileged life and fluctuated from spoiled princess to assertive young woman but when faced with Riordans obvious sexual needs she melted like butter. What she's gone through is truly harrowing and bit by bit she starts to remember which finally meant as a reader we get answers and luckily there's a twist so don't expect the most obvious choice. A character is introduced and later alluded to in the epilogue and honestly I really hope the author doesn't go there as there's possibly a thirty year or so age gap which might not appeal to all her readers. Bottom line is if you enjoy lots of sexual tension mixed with a mystery you might enjoy this story.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

I felt a little blindsided going in to this book. The cover and description indicate that this is the first book in a new series, however, it was immediately clear that this is a continuation of a storyline addressed in other books. I don’t “DNF” books, but I feel like I can’t finish this one as I’m missing so much information. I also am not a fan of the writing in this particular book. The constant shift in POV is distracting and I had no idea who’s POV I was in half the time so figuring that out pulled away from the story. I would only recommend for those who have read whatever other series these characters come from.

So it has been a while since I have read Leigh's Elite Ops series (yes I know this is a different series but keep with me) so I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed them... but the Brute Force team took me back
I k now this is a new series, but with our lead being brother to one of the Elite Ops team (and said guy turning up in this one) its easy to understand my confusion!
I enjoyed this book and can't wait to see which of the team is up next!

The past is never forgotten. Amara has been living in a state of terror, she knows that someone is still after her and there is only one man that can help her. But is she strong enough to go find him and get him to come home with her. She remembers only small bits of her time as a captive and the parts she remembers haunts her. But can Riordan help her again? He can't believe that she has come to find him but why now after she wanted nothing to do with him after her rescue? He gave everything to her and she just threw him away as if he was worth nothing. Can he keep her safe again and help her remember how good they were? They both try fight their attraction but that was never a problem but can they really move on from the past. Amara starts remembering more about the year that she has lost and she learns that she did lose someone that she loved and that hurts more than anything. Can she find out who took her and why they wanted her dead? Riordan can't just stand around and let her do everything herself but he fears that he could drive her away. But who is still after her now? The enemy is hiding in plain sight and he will get his revenge on the family but he never counted on Riordan and the love that he has for Amara/ Can they make it through this and put the past to rest as they both lost something very dear to them. A good sold read. Full of action, loss and acceptance. I liked Amara, she is a very strong woman that went through a horrific time and she asked for help from the one man that loved her. Even liked her father Ivan, he has his own way about doing things. I was lucky to receive a copy via Netgalley & the publishing in exchange for my honest review.

Collision Point (Brute Force, #1) by Lora Leigh ... This story keeps you guessing right up to the HEA and beyond... Riordan and Amara's story... I was so lucky to preview this book on #NetGalley... it has it all Love, laughs, tears, sex, and suspense.. it also has me looking forward to Brute Force, #2...will that be Ivan and Crimsyn...I can't wait to find out.

I am not sure if it is because I have not read Ms. Leigh’s stories before (specifically Elite Ops) or if her style just does not jive with me but I had a really hard time getting into and then finishing this book. I did finish it though. The story itself was really good but I felt lost especially at the beginning and it seemed choppy. Did I come in the middle of the story? I know this is the first book in the series so I thought I would be okay but I do not know. Riordan and Amara’s trying to find their way back to each other was nice. Although I must say she had more “dreamy” moments than I have ever read in a book and having sex right in the middle of intense times was a little strange.

This book is going to be hard to give a review.
Overall the storyline was good and characters were interesting and kept me reading. However, I felt like this was more like Book 3 in a book series and I was just popping in the middle of the story. If that was the case, then I would like it more only because it was my fault for jumping into a story mid way.
But when I researched the book series a little more I realized that this is Book 1. I understand that this is a spin off on another series and that in these cases there will be a little information from other stories but if this was supposed to be Book 1 then it had way too much back story that isn't explained and left the readers feeling they had no idea what was happening.
But putting that major flaw aside, the chemistry between these two is great. The spy/mafia story was really fun and a great concept. The characters were likable and kept me reading the entire book. But for me I will have to give it a lower rating on the confusion factor for people who think they are getting Book 1 when it really is more like Book 3 or 4 in a series.

Thank you St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review
Collision Point is the first book in a romantic suspense series Brute Force. It's a spin-off series to Elite Ops. I haven't given such series a try but I'm intrigued by it since some of its characters made an appearance here and after checking the blurb. I had expectations it's going to be plot driven and has exciting actions in it. Unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations and I dislike several things.
The plot has a potential but the romance overpowered the suspense. It's frustrating when conflicts are building up, it's always interrupted by sex scenes. That happens majority of the chapters and I'm irritated. These characters need to prioritize important things first.. I mean, romance can wait. I do not like the hero. I don't mind alpha men but Riordan Malone was too territorial and possessive. I understand he's protecting his lover Amara but please, he really needs to control his raging hormones. Focus on finding Amara's abductors dude and ensure her safety. 🙄🙄🙄 I didn't bother about the revelations and the story was truly forgettable.

This is a spin-off series from Lora Leigh's Elite Ops series. I highly recommend reading those books first as this book is about a character seen in those along with some side characters that are main characters in some of those books. This first book is about Riordan “Rory” Malone and Amara Resnova. Rory is a member of Brute Force Protection and was Amara's bodyguard. Until things got a lot more personal between them. There is an incident with Amara and Rory and in the aftermath Amara loses part of her memory. Months later she tracks Rory and begs him to helps her find the people who are still trying to hurt her. And then the twists and turns begin.
There were parts of this book that I had a little trouble connecting with. But then once you get farther in everything makes sense and you fully get why things happened the way they did. I loved Amara. For everything she has been through she still manages to be strong, sweet, and innocent of a lot things. Rory came across as a jerk a few times until you realize how much he really cares and that he is trying to push her to help her in the long run. And the hurts they both suffer, it definitely makes you feel for them! All in all, I really liked it. I am looking forward to the next book in this series!

This is the first book in a the new series, Brute Force, which is an off shoot of the Elite Ops Series. Riordan Malone is more than a bodyguard to Amara Resnova. But after her abduction and torture she has no memory of what they were to each other. But her memory is slowly returning and along with it some very painful revelations. Riordan will also learn of a painful loss and he is determined to find out what is blocking Amara's memory. The truth will be painful and surprising.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and St. Martin's Press
This is an intriguing story. Amara and Riordan are great together. I love their chemistry. I enjoyed seeing a softer side to Riordan when he was with Amara.
Ivan is extremely overprotective and a bit meddlesome. However, it is his life and business that has put his only daughter in danger.
The story of Amara's missing memories of Riordan and the people who abducted and tried to kill her were enough to keep the story going. I feel that some of the revelations were a bit predictable. However, the story held my interest to the end. I believe that I will look for the next in the series to read. I am curious as to what happens to Amara and Riordan and it seems as if we might get a closer look at Ivan.

Hells yes! Its Lora Leigh, when I got this arc I had NO clue it was a spin off series to her older series, Elite Ops. I would recommended reading possibly the Wild Card book. but its not heaps needed, This was enjoyable, delightful sexy, VEY SEXY story! so much sex, followed by more sex, and more! This was definitely suspense erotica romance. I found myself enjoying it, Amara and Riordian were a fantastic match, I think if you are a Lora Leigh fan you are going to gobble this up, take a cold shower and highlight all them steamy sexy times to re read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It grabbed from the start right through to the end. Great story! Great new author for me to add to my list.

COLLISION POINT (BRUTE FORCE, #1) LORA LEIGH
Lora Leigh begins another suspenseful series with Collision Point, the first book in her new Brute Force series.
I love everything that this lovely author pens, mostly because I've never been disappointed by any of her her books. At it's heart this very romantic, and very exciting, story is magical. Riordan Malone and Amara Resnova were true soulmates. They had such a deep connection that not even death could keep them apart. I loved their chemistry, sexy scenes, and even the fights. I loved the mystery and the suspense and action, and best of all knowing that it's not over yet.
Lora Leigh creates the most unforgettable characters. There's something special about them almost like they could leap right off the pages and come to life for real. Riordan and Amara were two such characters who came to life for me. They stood out and grabbed my attention and they refused to let it go until the end. I loved Amara's spirit and Rory's stubborn Alpha ways. This book is a spin off from the Elite Ops series and it helped that I was already a bit familiar with some key characters. Although it had been some time ago since I had read it they still stood out in my memory.
Lora Leigh is an awesome writer who did a super fantastic job on this book. Collision Point was a great read and it hooked my interest in the new series. Can't wait to read the next book !

I always look forward to reading a Lora Leigh book. She generally writes stories that are suspenseful, with twists and turns, and romance. This book had those ingredients, but I didn't feel like it had enough of a storyline. Lora has a wonderful writing style and so I enjoyed the book, but wished that there would have been a little less romance and more suspense and action. (I received a copy of this book for my honest review.)

This was an entertaining, spicy book. Amara Resnova, daughter of an alleged notorious crime lord, is determined to find out the truth about what is going on around her, and refuses to let Rory Malone shield her from the facts or the danger. Rory is the fiercest of warriors and protectors, and comes from a line of men who live for one single purpose: to protect the women who own them, body and soul. Sparks are flying between them, but they are surrounded by danger. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is book #1 in the Brute Force series. I enjoyed this book and would read other books by this author.

First off I love this author. Love her ops series but I don’t read the bread series, so needless to say I was excited to see a new series starting. The book is highly fast paced and lively. I did get frustrated on the lack of description in some parts that would have made it flow better. Example without giving spoilers. She goes to him for help but the does a 180 not trusting him and keeping secrets. It was a little odd. Then the end seemed to wrap up quickly and I had to read the page again when someone is shot but the next paragraph is standing right there. But I love this story and can’t wait for another

I received an ARC copy of the book. I was excited when I heard Ms Leigh was writing this book as I was a fan of the elite ops series but I was a little disappointed. First off you can read this as a stand-alone but will appreciate it more if you read the Elite Ops books. I was happy to see familiar characters like Nathan and Pops but had a hard time keeping the new characters straight. Also there are a lot of flashbacks/memories which were a little confusing. I’m glad Rory got a story but found it a little disjointed and I’m not sure if Amara really fit him. While I would recommend buying the book anyway to continue with the original series I would wait til it’s on sale. However the epilogue does leave hope for book two.
