Collision Point is the first book in the all new, exciting Brute Force Series from author Lora Leigh. One of the first things about this book that caught my attention was the cover. The cover was absolutely stunning. I loved the colors and the way that it was set up. My eyes were completely drawn to it, and it was that moment, that I knew I had to read the synopsis. And let me just say, if the cover wasn't enough, the synopsis sealed the deal for me. I knew I just had to get my hands on this book and check it out.
Told from dual points of view, Collision Point follows the story Riordan and Amara. Riordan is a force to be reckoned with. He is tough. He is fierce. He is protective. He is the kind of guy that you would want standing up for you and keeping watch of your back. He is the best in his line of work. However, the one thing he never planned on, was Amara. From the moment he laid eyes on Amara, he knew she was the one. He would do anything for her. Anything to keep her safe. Even if it meant dying for her...Being the daughter of a notorious crime lord is anything but easy. But, don't let that fool you, Amara is a force to be reckoned with. However, Amara's world is about to be turned upside down. When she falls in love with the one person she's not supposed to, all bets are off. With danger around every corner and a year of time that is unaccounted for, Amara is about to embark on the craziest ride yet...
Overall, I thought this book was an ok read. The prologue sucked me in and had me asking a million questions. I was totally captivated and couldn't wait for more. I enjoyed Riordan and Amara together. You could tell that the two of them shared an intimate past and that they once meant the world to each other. I loved their chemistry and looked forward to when all the pieces to the puzzle clicked for Amara.
Collision Point is a fast paced romantic suspense novel that will keep you on the edge your seat and will leave you guessing the entire time. From kidnappings and danger around every corner to amnesia and the thirst for truth, to love and those unforgettable sexy moments, this book hits all the marks for a suspenseful read. I think this series is off to a solid start and would definitely be open to checking out more from this author in the future.

This read was interesting to say the least. I have enjoyed some of this authors books and was excited to read this book and new series. I think maybe knowing it had a series of other characters that had relating stories beforehand would have allowed me to read that series before this book. It said #1 so I was like Great! A beginning series! Needless to say one of my pet peeves is to start readinng a book in the middle of a series and that is how this book is. Reading it seemed like I was missing some vital information. Then, I thought towards the end I should read this other series first. I was seriously bummed because I already knew how it ended for the other characters. So there ya have it. This author is a good writer. The plot was awesome and the ending was intense. I just feel a little left out of the loop. I am pretty sure having read the other series this book This read was interesting at least. Whew! That was a steamy, edge of your seat ending! I have a crush on all those tough Brute Force men! I hope they show up again in the next book in this series.

New series that is a spin-off from the Elite Ops series.
The story was choppy and a little all over the place, but Rory was hot. All of the Elite Ops team was even Grandad. I'm not really sure if Grandad had a point in going on the mission. Rory was a wee bit of a jerk to Amara at times especially after what she had been through. Her father was a little weird. It was just okay and not as good as some of the other books I've read by Ms. Leigh.
Now if the next story is who they allude to in the epilogue...I think I'm going to pass on it.

"Collision Point" is the first in the Brute Force series by Lora Leigh, but this is not a series that stands on its own precisely. It seems to be a spin off of the Elite Forces books by the same author, as references are made to characters and relationships that were clearly the focus of previous books. The plot of 'Collision Point' stands on its own, but I would caution readers against starting with this book. It's not that the backstory of the other characters is *necessary* per se, but there are references and details that I'm sure I didn't pick up on, since I've only read the Breed series by this author. Overall, I think readers will get more out of this book and enjoy it a lot more having connected with these characters previously (especially since I suspect the male lead is someone whose HEA fans have been anticipating).
The book itself was interesting - decent pacing, well constructed from a technical standpoint (and the few places where it wasn't perfect I'm willing to ignore because I was reading an uncorrected proof) and generally well written. Characters were three dimensional and engaging, and the suspense elements were well placed. This is most definitely a novel that trends more toward the erotic end of the spectrum - lots of explicit sex scenes, which is something Lora Leigh does in most (if not all) her work so I doubt most people will be surprised by it.
Overall I found the book an enjoyable way to pass the time. As a vacation, plane ride or bus commute book, this is a solid option and one that I think a number of fans will enjoy.

The premise of this story was great! There was twists and turns. Answers and lies hidden beneath missing memories. The only thing that kept this from being a concise story was all the sex scenes. Whenever Roardan and Amara would argue they’d have sex. The scenes went on and on. I have nothing against sex scenes except for when they take away from the storyline. Wow!!! This book definitely delivers! The prologue is intense, graphic, and thrilling. You would expect the book to fail to maintain that initial level of intensity but it doesn't. Instead, leigh's storytelling winds you up tighter and tighter in the plot leading you to a heart pounding ending. The romance between Rory and Amara is perfection. Bad guys, an explosive romance and a plot that keeps you on your toes....what's not to love?

COLLISION POINT is the beginning of a brand new series but as I was reading I felt that there were stories for some of the characters that I was missing. Some quick research at Fantastic Fiction tells me that some of these characters were introduced in the Elite Ops series which I have on TBR mountain. The basic story is that Riordan Malone was hired as a bodyguard for Amara Resnnova. They fell in love, started a hot affair, then he was sent on an assignment, and, while he was gone, she was kidnapped. He found her severely beaten and with broken bones and rescued her. During the course of the rescue he was shot multiple times and died three or four times before he got to the hospital and out of the operating room.
He tries to contact her and is denied by her family who says she doesn't want to talk to him. Then she comes running to him because she's had dreams that tell her that he is the only one who she can trust. She has had a number of close calls which tells her that whoever kidnapped her and wanted her dead hasn't given up. The trauma of her abduction has made her lose all memory of the last year of her life. The last thing she remembers is meeting him when her father hires him to be her bodyguard.
Riordan was getting ready to go claim her when she came looking for him. He formed a connection with her that makes her his. He is willing to die for her. The sexual tension is high between the two of them despite Amara's lack of memory of their previous relationship. Much of the book is foreplay between the two of them. Lots of the rest describes their sexual encounters in tedious detail.
The romance plot far outweighs the suspense plot in this story. In fact, when the villain was revealed, my first reaction was "who's that?" Fans of Leigh's steamy romances will enjoy this one. People looking for suspense should look elsewhere.

I have a checkered history with Lora Leigh’s work and haven’t read one of her books in about a decade. I truly disliked many of her Elite Ops novels (and characters!) but figured ‘new decade, new series, interesting premise… I’ll give it a shot!’ when COLLISION POINT came across my desk. Unfortunately, I barely got a quarter of the way in before being unable to go on, since COLLISION POINT embodies everything that drove me crazy in the Elite Ops series: disgustingly Neanderthal hero, idiotic unlikeable heroine, sex scenes that are copious rather than well written, and choppy, uneven writing (not to mention the shoddy editing… ohh, my eyes!). So, no, even ~10 years later, Lora Leigh is not for me.

I don't mind sex in a novel at all, but it overshadowed what could have been an excellent thriller. I was so impatient to get to the story that I skipped most of the novel. The author knows how to write and had a good story to share. I would certainly reach for it if she were to write a more well developed novel focusing on the fascinating tale buried under the weight of all the steamy passion.

This is the first novel in a new series that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. Amara is a woman who survived a brutal kidnapping, but lost a year's worth of memories, including who her kidnappers were. As attempts continue to be made on her life, Riordan, the man she fell in love with, but no longer remembers, strives to protect her with his very life. I loved these characters and found Riordan swoon worthy.
What follows is an engaging romantic suspense that fans of the genre will enjoy. I'm giving this four stars instead of five because some parts of the flashback elements felt a bit confusing to me. Additionally, while this is the start of a new series, I felt like I had missed out on reading the back story that led the characters to this point. However, this is a wonderful novel and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I loved this book. Great start for a new series. It had all the elements for a great page turner. I enjoyed the complex characters of Rory and Amara and also the action/mystery of who was the kidnapper and why. It was nice to see some favorite characters from a previous series by Lora Leigh, which gave more depth to the story. I also liked that the secondary characters being Syn and Ivan will likely be heard from again. I will be looking forward to the next in the series.

Collision Point is heralded as a new series by Lora Leigh, but I suspect it's a spin off. Its media res beginning is both intriguing and a bit maddening. Characters have clearly a backstory that was lost to me, that said the plot was really easy to follow. Unfortunately, I thought it was a bit too thin, as the sex to story ratio was pretty high. 😊 The ending saved the day: It packed a punch of twists and revelations that had me reaching for my own tumbler of whiskey.
Her heroine is a mix of naïve and innocent, and sassy and strong, and was really easy to like. Her hero the usual brooding Alpha, their love story both tender and heartrending with a touch of paranormal that is left unexplained.
Her fans will love this news story as it has her usual sizzling signature.

Collision Point by Lora Leigh is packed full of action, suspense, and heat. The sexy rollercoaster ride will not disappoint readers. The attraction is hard to resist between the protagonists. It's realistic. Temptation, lust, and love is evident on every page. I also felt the fear, loss, and sadness as the plot swept me up into its world. Lora Leigh is a talented writer. I never wanted the book to end...
Riordan Malone is an interesting hero. A black ops guy who is also a cowboy. He became one woman's bodyguard because he liked her. Not for the money. That made me love this man so much. He's powerful, demanding, and all alpha. Hot, sexy, and dangerous. Cross him and death will come. Riordan fell fast and hard for Amara. She's the daughter of a Russian crime lord. Amara almost died and Riordan was never the same again. Amara fills his dreams and thoughts everyday. Now, after six months, she finds him, asking him to protect her. And he does...
Amara is in danger once more. Someone has tempted to kill her several times, recently. All she remembers is Riordan. He vowed to protect her, and she feels safe with him. Amara was kidnapped and tortured almost to the point of death. Yet, here she is alive and trying to stay alive. She has no memories of of the abduction nor who or why someone wants her dead. All she knows is Riordan. Amara seeks him out for her protection against her fears. Something about Riordan has her feeling lustful and unbalanced. He makes her want things...but first, she must live long enough to survive.
Collision Point is exciting. I couldn't stop reading this novel. Lora Leigh created characters that I fell in love with...I liked them all, even her over protective father who can be a pain in the ass at times. His love for his daughter is his most likable quality. And the alpha hero, Riordan is every woman's fantasy. I loved his attitude! Overall, I highly recommend this romantic suspense to readers everywhere.

LOVED this book! Collision Point is an amazing book that shows why Lora Leigh is one of my favorite writers. This story hooks you in right from the beginning and it is impossible to put this book down till the end. The main characters Amara and Riordan are so amazing we get to see them at their worst and but we also get to see how strong their love is and how they will fight anything and anyone to find their way to each other. I don't want to give anything away because you just need to read this story for yourself and you will see what it is that makes them so special and I can't wait to read more about the other characters involved the little that we get to read of both their friends and family got me hooked and I can't wait to read more about them all!

WOW I have waited for this book patiently and it was a amazing read.Riordan saved Amara from death and nearly died. Which set off the events of her memory loss. He comes back to save her from her killers. A tangled web. Loved it must buy the book when it comes out.

Every time I read a LL book I am immersed in her world and story within just a few lines. Collision Point is no exception. From the beginning to the end I was enthralled with the action, intrigue, and romance. I kept trying to figure out who was the threat coming from and boy was I wrong and surprised! I was interesting reading this book to learn more about his family and the military type units. I fell in love with his grand pop and loved his wisdom and antidotes that he shared. Incredibly well developed and full of emotional ups and downs I enjoyed this story and can’t wait to learn more about this series and hopefully family.
Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Paperback for the copy and chance to share my own opinions.

It was a great story with many twists and turns. Every time I thought I knew who was the bad guy I was wrong up until the end of the story. It was great with the flashbacks as well so you got to know how the characters were tied together.

Rory and Amara have unfinished history when she finds him at his granddad's ranch 6 months after she escaped her kidnappers. Amara has no memory of the year prior to her kidnapping and doesn't remember Rory being her former lover. She is flying blind, but knows she is still in danger.
Rory has been recuperating for the last 6 months getting shot 3 times and almost dying several time due to those injuries. He doesn't realize that Amara is without her memories of him until she comes to see him. He thinks they communicate through their dreams and she seems to enforce this theory several times in this book. Amara acted like a spoiled toddler at times and she grated on my last nerve several times. She wanted to be treated as an adult, but went running to daddy to tell on Rory when she thought he was being too overbearing with her security???? She also kept secrets from those who were trying to protect her for her own selfish reasons.
This book is part of a series and, since I did not read those other books, I was definitely lost several times. I had no knowledge of the other cast of characters and it was difficult to keep up with them at times. The prose used in this book didn't fit with all that was happening around it at times. I was left split between this being a romance, or a thriller. It didn't quite work for me all of the time and sometimes it got too far off base for me. I think if you read her other books in this series you will like this book more since you will be able to follow along through the whole thing.
I was happy to receive an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

I had assumed that ‘Collision Point’ was the first of a new series by Lora Leigh and not part of her Elite Oops series, which I didn’t exactly take to. But while I found the start somewhat intriguing, it just wasn’t a story that could hold my interest; neither was the writing style which I found choppy, repetitive and somewhat difficult to follow.
On the one hand, there’s nothing more enticing about a male protagonist who knows what he wants and goes after it. On the other hand, there is the cookie-cutter pattern emerging here, of the growling, neanderthal male who’s built only to have rough sex and protect his mate and the helpless female who seems to run and flail at that possessive edge he shows around her. I’ll admit readily that Leigh’s ‘Wild Card’ put me off such protagonists, though ‘Collision Point’ felt marginally better as it pretty much revolved around a hero bulldozing his way through everything to get his woman back.
Structurally, I did struggle with this even from the beginning, as I tried to piece together Riordan’s and Amara’s history for the first few chapters as their backstory came in dribs and drabs, interrupted by copious descriptions of erections, wetness and coitus interruptus. Admittedly, with a sensual history between them, Riordan and Amara weren’t strangers to begin with, but instead of a constant build-up or reconstruction of their past, more than half the story was concerned with sex or how aroused either protagonist was (then spending it jealous thinking of imaginary lovers the other might have had), which did get annoyingly distracting.
My rating merely reflects my inability to continue the story—‘Collision Point’ is more like romantic suspense erotica, if there’s ever such a sub-genre. Sure, the sex is hot, but, it’s not a style that I’m used to at all (this is clearly, my preference) and frankly, I was thrown off way too much, right to the point past the halfway point where I found myself too frustrated to even get down and dirty with this pairing.
